This is an introductory series into Synfig. The version used in this video is 1.3.16. Synfig is an opensource 2D animation software with many powerful tools and features. It's still being developed but with each update, it gets better and better.
The parent child relationship between bones can be a bit complicated, but in this video I do my best in trying to explain it.
    Download Synfig:
    gumroad.com/a/431289555 (Synfig stable version)
    gumroad.com/a/57996499 (Synfig development version)

Unfortunately no, not in this current version, however you can render your animations as transparent png images, then import them into your video editor of choice.

@@eswarBade if you only require an image, then it's best to create it in a vector program like Inscape for example. However you can create it in Synfig and save the synfig file, so if you ever need to scale, all you would need to do is to go back to the synfig file and scale your image to the size you need, then save it out. Which would be the same as other vector programs. Keep in mind that they are only vector within the program that you create them. Once you save them out to an image format, it become bitmap.

Hey! I'm rigging my character and I made a little mistake with the bone. I'm trying to remove it but when I click "remove item" it closes the whole program and I have a feeling that's not what's supposed to happen. Is there a way to fix this? If not I'll just have to live with an unconnected bone for this character, but at least I'll know how to NOT do it next time

    Good software but highly unstable.
