    그 책 말이야 book is noun,whynot use이란 말이야?
    Why sometimes use단 but sometimes oonly use 말이야?

    • @WBKTYUJIN
      @WBKTYUJIN  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      ahh 그 책 말이야 and 그 책이란 말이야 has different meaning. 말이야 emphasize the phrase to which it attaches. so if you say 그 책 말이야, its like..' you mean this book?' and 그 책이란 말이야? 'so..it was this book?' er...does it make sense? it's not easy to explain with my english T_T

    • @방민주-j1q
      @방민주-j1q 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@WBKTYUJIN i still dont understand, you may explain it by korean
      Their difference is indirect speech?

    • @WBKTYUJIN
      @WBKTYUJIN  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@방민주-j1q 말이야 emphasize the previous noun/phrase/clause.
      (Let’s say 말이야 as “you mean”. )
      So when you say 그 책이란 말이야, it is emphasizing the sentence “ It was that book”
      But 그 책 말이야, it means just ‘that book’. And those 2 sentences can be used in different context
      Let’s see with the example.
      B is holding a book.
      A: 어? 너 그거 샀어? 어때?
      B: 응? 이 책 말이야? You mean this book?
      A: 그래. 내가 그 때 이야기 했잖아. 유진 선생님이 추천해서 읽어보고 싶다고.
      B: 아? 그게 이 책이란 말이야? Oh…the book you mentioned before was this book?
      If you still don’t understand don’t hesitate to tell me. i will try to explain more!

    Im sorry but i dont understand what the meaning of that grammar.. i wish you tranlated in english.. the exact or atleast the same meaning of that.. like ㄹ 수 있다 i can
    고 싶다 i want.
    Something like that..

    • @boringajeossi2465
      @boringajeossi2465 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I think it's has no exact meaning in English. The function quoting to clarify what has been spoken. As we know 말: word, talk. ㄴ다고 Is used when quoting declarative sentence.
      Sorry for my bad English.

      well...if...i have to translate it into english...i think ' i mean' is similar. when you use ' i mean..' to emphasize, 'you mean' to verify....its function is similar. and Vlog. yeah, i may have to try someday!!!!
