Have you used a Tesla to J1772 plug before? How was your experience? Any other adapters that you have found useful when charging your electric car? Please share your thoughts in the comments below!

I have the reverse, a J1772 to Tesla adapter from A2Z for my model 3. Only used it once so far but it worked so no complaints!

Thanks for your feedback! With adapters like these you never know when you will need one so best to keep them in the trunk just in case.

Thanks for reviewing the adapter! I want to get one also for friends coming over. FYI, the displayed volts and amps on the phone app are for the power going into the battery. 372V x 15.8A = 5.9kW, which means the AC current going into the car is about 240V x 28A = 6.7kW (minus charging losses and accessories running). The car was pulling close to its maximum 30 or 32 amps limit.

This is for sure a very useful adapter to have for non Tesla EV owners. You can charge using many destination chargers at hotels and other places.

I also recommend having a Tesla adapter on road trips. One time I was in middle of no where. Shop had both Tesla and CCS chargers. But both CCS were down. The next CCS down the road was likely out if reach. I then noted the shop also had two Tesla destination chargers. Using my adapter. Charged the car on AC for an hour. Giving me a good buffer get to the next CCS charger.

Thank you for sharing your experience with us. Amazing story that shows the importance of always being prepared and having adapters that open a lot more charging options for us EV drivers, especially in those do or die situations.

What is the app you are using on the smartphone to monitor battery/charging data?

The app is called Car Scanner. Check out my latest video about Level 1 charging and you will find links to everything I use to monitor my charging.
