You all remind me of my Mom, sister, and me years ago. The three of us loved shopping together. Sometimes we would be gone so long, we would eat three meals out in a day...lol. I lost my Mom three years ago at the age of 95. Up until the last 10 years of her life, we continued our outings. You all are making memories!!! Never take your time together for granted. These are special times and you will look back someday and remember this. I miss my Mom everyday!!! God bless!!!

Longaberger is made in Ohio, dated and signed by the artisan. The baskets have been collectibles for over 40 years. The hostess basket with the inserts is for serving - I use mine for veggies, fruit, dip, condiments. The big one is the laundry basket and they’re expensive.

It was a family company. We used to love to make trips to their home in Dresden Ohio, and tour the factory and all the little shops etc in town. Their headquarters later was in a basket shaped office building.

I live about 5 minutes away from that store and stopped shopping there years ago, it just didn't feel welcoming. I will absolutely drive 50 minutes to go to the Red Barn in Fruitland!

The 15 drawer cabinet with the little shelves that have a hole is for paper! The hole helps you pop up the paper to get a sheet, as paper sometimes doesn’t play nice when you’re just trying to get one sheet.

Love watching MOM and girl's spending time together, my mother passed when I was only 35. Always cherish those days, now in my later 60s and still miss days like those.

Another fun day with my fav mom and daughters! The Longaberger tray basket is used for veggies and dip. The large un-sectioned liner is used under the divided one for ice to keep your veggies cool. There's many other uses of course. :)

We love it -- hanging out with the girls. You all continue to make beautiful memories together. After 10 years, I still miss my Mom and Sister. We had so much fun together with shopping , eating, and vacationing together. It is not the same without them. You all have lots of fun together. Love you all.

I was enjoying this video over dinner when suddenly my husband overheard you guys talking about taco toppings and his ears perked right up. He strongly agreed with the statement “cheese and lettuce and salsa and sour cream and all the goodies” 🤣 I think you ladies inadvertently put my on the spot to make tacos for dinner one of these nights coming up! I so love these antiquing trips! 😊💜
So fun! So I might be weird but I use an antique “ relish” tray for jewelry on my bathroom counter! The glass sits on a silver tray and is so pretty!

Longaberger were handwoven for pottery back in the very early 1900's. Dave Longaberger revised the company in the late 70's until early 2000's when he passed. They were extremely collectable and sold in home shows all over the country. Boise was a very popular area for sales which is why you see them. Always get the protectors when you see them!

What a wonderful day of shopping! Hog scraper=used for scraping hog to clean hair off of skin. When you are processing a pig. You all need to watch homesteader channels, lol. I wish we had some of those shops in my little town. Thanks for taking us along!💛
At 9:03 did anyone else Google "hog scraper"? South Dakota State University says: "...are used to scrape the small hairs off hog hides which removes some bacteria and gets the hide ready for the next step in meat processing." How lovely! 😄 You guys are a hoot!
As soon as I saw it I knew. I was shouting hog scraper before she read it. Huge amount of homesteading channels on you youtube. Still being used today on those channels.

I’ve been antiquing for 35 yrs and you gals are so funny! You have so much to learn. If you see something you like, take pictures showing the name and on the drive home, nondriver😂 does research and the antique lessons began. Makes drive home interesting and fun. Soon you will start to recognize makers and patterns and lots of history.
I love your antiquing trips. I'm so envious, because here on Long Island, NY, almost all of our antique shops have disappeared. 25 years ago, my husband and I used to go antiquing every weekend. Almost every piece in our house has a story, a memories of past trips. On another note, thank you for mentioning the Felco 12 clippers for people with hand issues. It's been a game changer!
Your mother makes me laugh "well, now that we know the story behind the baskets" and why they are so expensive. When you ask her, what was the story, she can't remember! I could see her trying to come up with something because you were filming her. Lol
I used to ride my bike all over that area when I was a kid!! There weren’t any shops, just my friend’s houses back then!! I went driving in the north end a while ago and was amazed of 2 things: How small the yards and gardens actually are! I think they shrunk from how big they were when I was a kid 😂 & how glorious that whole area really is! Thanks for the flood of such fond memories! I was a lucky kid to have gotten to grow up in such a beautiful area! ❤
Hi Laura, Mom and Monica! The green dish/bowl at 11:05 that Mom pulls off the shelf is depression glass. In most earlier pieces the green color actually signifies that it has Uranium in the glass and it will glow under a UV light. That’s not the only color that will glow though- it’s a fun/expensive hobby.
I have a large collection of the pink depression glass that my MIL gave me. I treasure it!
Longaberger Baskets were handmade in Dresden Ohio. At one point they had a large factory and The Longaberger Homestead. Each basket should have the initials of the person who weaved the basket on the bottom. My husband worked there. This is a very interesting story of Dave Longaberger, the founder of the company who is now deceased. (I grew up in the area and I had a house/garden in Dresden Ohio that was in a book by Judy Condon. )

Oh you girls! Such a fun shopping day with all three of you! It’s the day after my birthday and I feel like this is such a gift! I lived in Boise for 27 years (up until 6 years ago) and it’s scratching an itch for my homesickness! Especially Hyde Park area. It’s the neighborhood where I used to take my daughter to day care, and we used to go play at Camel Back Park nearby. We would trick or treat at Halloween in those neighborhoods ( yes the beautiful Victorian and early 20th century homes). Harrison Blvd is known for trick or treating! It’s so lovely there. You should see it in the fall with all the trees decked out. My daughter’s father in law and his brother used to have a band and they would play at one of the establishments there in Hyde Park. It’s such a great part of Boise that I don’t think is well know to tourists. Another neighborhood you should visit is to the south of there on the other side of the capital. Warm Springs Avenue has some of the most beautiful mansions and gardens and also the botanical garden is in that area. You guys should check it out!!!! 💚💚🙏
Yes! I live west of Boise and don’t tend to get into the city to enjoy it. The traffic has gotten so bad! You got out just in time!
Oh, Longaberger memories. They were sold at home parties and the hostess would get credit towards baskets. They were crazy expensive and me and my mother were obsessed. They came in all shapes and sizes. I still use my picnic basket regularly and it’s remained in amazing shape. But when I think back at the literal thousands of dollars me and my mother spent on them I feel like I was in a cult! Now all of my non utilitarian ones are in a basement storage room because they are no longer my decor taste but I spent a lot of money on those suckers, so I can’t bear to sell them for pennies on the dollar!
I know what you're talking about! My mother-in-law spent so much money on those baskets, and I feel so bad that I don't use them much (like you, they don't fit my decor taste). I do still have the picnic basket, but again, I never use it.

She's really good at suggesting things someone else should buy...😅 In our family, our daughter is my "enabler". She's a couple months shy of being 25 years old. She's been my "enabler" since birth, pretty much 😂😂

We have a friend that worked at Longaberger for years making baskets! The basket maker would put their initials on the bottom of every basket they made! My mom and I turn over all the Longaberger baskets we find when we go antique shopping looking for his initials! We live in Ohio and our antique stores are full of them! 💕

One of the ones you picked up was a tray with 2 liners! One was for like food condiments or a taco bar for food!! Another was a flat liner for a tray!! So fun that your finding and hopefully you will buy some to add to your daily use and heritage at your homes!! It means so much to all of us Longaberger family of employees!! Would just flip to see you use the baskets with your gardening! It’s an investment, but seeing the Longaberger heritage prevail and live on is amazing!!♥️

I love the shopping day videos. I’ve recently gotten my mom on board with thrift shopping with me. We don’t buy a lot but we laugh a lot at some of the things we see. She enables my collections much like it seems your mom does too. Must be a Susan thing 😉

I grew up in Hyde park 60 years ago, it was the poor side of town. There use to be a shoe repair shop, laundry mat, gas station, and some old abandon buildings. Made my heart leap with joy to see it. Haven’t been home in a long time. ❤

She can only do an hour or so at a time now. Last time, Mom, my sister and I went to Ivy Cottage in Wilmington, NC, then to a nice dinner! She loved it!! Thank you!!

You have SO much fun and you go to the best places for coffee, pastry, food, then refreshments, and.... And, love the items you purchased, esp. that they were all footed containers (the pansy design was precious). Samantha Rose is looking just precious and brother Benjamin is all boy! I can get a little melancholy seeing you gals with your mom. My mom spoiled me and all I'd have to do is say "oh, I like that" and she'd offer to purchase it for me. Precious memories now that I'm 75! That's why I enjoy watching you gals!
Longaberger baskets are not old. They were done in the 90’s and were extremely popular. They were sold with in house parties Like Tupperware. They were quite expensive, however, people bought them like crazy. I have several in my house. The company was so successful they built a building that looked like a basket. They would also issue special baskets when presidential inaugurations took place. Thought you would find this interesting.
As I was getting my cofree and muffin ready, I was thinking it's about time for a shopping day and VOILA! Great minds and all that
