In 2021 the Supreme Court in Israel upheld a law which states that Israel is the nation-state of the Jewish People and, among other things, degrades the Arabic language, which prior to that was a co-official language in the country alongside Hebrew, to an auxiliary language.
So, you are glad you can share your country with second-class citizens. But this guy seems happy about it, too, so it's ok.

Palestine was a vast region in the Mideast. When the Ottomans lost WWI to the allies, their lands were given to the victorious allies France and Britain for administration. One part of Palestine was handed over to the British and called the Palestine Mandate, another part of Palestine was handed over to the French and called the Lebanon Mandate. The French and British created countries out of their respective mandates when they left Palestine. Lebanon is the most Christian nation in the Mideast. Israel is the most Jewish nation in the Mideast. And Jordan was created for Muslim Arabs, seemed very fair to the U.N. at the time. Lebanon and Israel are both plagued by terrorist, Hezbollah and Hamas respectively. Lebanon and Israel have a 75-year history of dealing with Muslim Arabs in their countries that won't accept the status quo. Israel gets all the press because the world is genuinely anti-Semitic, more so than anti-Christian, although in the Muslim world both will suffer.

My family has several Israeli friends who were living and farming in present day Israel years before the 1947 war. They in turn had Arab neighbors and they were all friends. Their kids played together and went to school together (yes, Arabs and Israelis had school systems that served everyone in the village). The British did not like this and they sided with the Arab politicians and religious leaders. Accordingly, the British soldiers did their best to disarm the Israeli farmers and shop keepers. When Independence came about the so called Arab Leaders told all Arabs to leave the area with the promise that once the Arab armies wiped out the (unarmed or poorly armed) Jewish settlers the Arab farmers and herders could return to take over the Jewish farms. When the Arab armies were beaten there was no welcome home extended to the Arabs that left. The Israelis believed they could not be trusted. The Arabs that stayed were given citizenship and they were also given all the rights and privileges of the Israeli people. They all became Israelis. The so-called Palestinians are in reality the offspring of those who left “knowing” when the war was over and all the Israelis had been killed they could just come back and reap the spoils of war. The Arab leaders are still telling the people that once the Israelis are wiped out they can return to claim that which they did not build.

The game was rigged by the Rothchilds and the elite banker jews in the city of london who arranged for the promise of Balfour that the british would give the jews other people's lands without asking for their consent. Turning the area into one of the most fertile lands is only the question of technology and finance. It is not a miracle. Anyone can do it with today's technology. Everyone? Why? It will not convince the educated. It certainly did not convince someone like me, who has studied the subject from all sides and angles for decades. All it will do is condition the impressionable, the ignorant or the racist, who will buy this ridiculous narrative. The majority of us who are actually educated on the matter see the 1947 UN decision precisely for what it is, a European plan for colonizing part of the Middle East. Thankfully, the truth is finally coming out and support for Palestinians, the ONLY rightful natives of the land of Palestine, is increasing as an exponential rate. It is only a matter of time before Israel undergoes the same process as South Africa.
I see only one viable, sustainable and moral outcome to current problem. The "two state solution" is dead. There just isn't a way to divide such a small land into two countries. Not that it matters since Israel has allowed a million settlers into the West Bank to illegally occupy several pockets of the land, turning the West Bank into an unviable, Swiss-cheese terrain.
As such, Israel and Palestine will merge and form one country for Palestinians and European Jews. Yes, Yoseph Haddad is Palestinian, whether he likes it or not. For that to happen, Israel will have to make a lot of concessions, starting with a strong apology, and reparations, to the Palestinian people. Palestinians will have to be granted completely equal rights as Israelis. Israel must also return all the lands it has occupied to Syria and Lebanon. Under those conditions, Israel will be able to proceed with a comprehensive peace with all of its neighbors, most notably Syria, Lebanon, Iraq, Iran and Saudi Arabia. Freedom fighting organizations such as Hamas and Hezbollah must be completely dismantled, and their more extreme cells must be dealt with, forcefully if necessary, by their own governments.

A crash course on history of the PALESTINIAN STATE:
    1. Before Israel, there was a British mandate, not a Palestinian state
    2. Before the British Mandate, there was the Ottoman Empire, not a Palestinian state.
    3. Before the Ottoman Empire, there was the Islamic state of the Mamluks of Egypt, not a Palestinian state.
    4. Before the Islamic state of the Mamluks of Egypt, there was the Ayubid Arab-Kurdish Empire, not a Palestinian state.
    5. Before the Ayubid Empire, there was the Frankish and Christian Kingdom of Jerusalem, not a Palestinian state.
    6. Before the Kingdom of Jerusalem, there was the Umayyad and Fatimid empires, not a Palestinian state.
    7. Before the Umayyad and Fatimid empires, there was the Byzantine empire, not a Palestinian state.
    8. Before the Byzantine Empire, there were the Sassanids, not a Palestinian state.
    9. Before the Sassanid Empire, there was the Byzantine Empire, not a Palestinian state.
    10. Before the Byzantine Empire, there was the Roman Empire, not a Palestinian state.
    11. Before the Roman Empire, there was the Hasmonean state, not a Palestinian state.
    12. Before the Hasmonean state, there was the Seleucid, not a Palestinian state.
    13. Before the Seleucid empire, there was the empire of Alexander the Great, not a Palestinian state.
    14. Before the empire of Alexander the Great, there was the Persian empire, not a Palestinian state.
    15. Before the Persian Empire, there was the Babylonian Empire, not a Palestinian state.
    16. Before the Babylonian Empire, there were the Kingdoms of Israel and Judah, not a Palestinian state.
    17. Before the Kingdoms of Israel and Judah, there was the Kingdom of Israel, not a Palestinian state.
    18. Before the kingdom of Israel, there was the theocracy of the twelve tribes of Israel, not a Palestinian state.
    19. Before the theocracy of the twelve tribes of Israel, there was an agglomeration of independent Canaanite city-kingdoms, not a Palestinian state.
    20. Actually, in this piece of land there has been everything, EXCEPT A PALESTINIAN STATE.
    (Borrowed from a friend)
A little more history for those wanting to 'restore Palestine'.
In 132 AD the Emperor Hadrian resolved to stamp the Jews and their religion out of existence. He sold all Jewish prisoners into slavery after the revolt of Bar Kikhba, forbade the teaching of the Torah, renamed the province Syria Palaestina, and changed Jerusalem’s name to Aelia Capitolina. He renamed Israel to wipe out the national identity of Israel and the Jews.
So if you are looking to 'restore Palestine to the Palestinians', you need to give it back to the Jews.

      1 - Nation-states only started in the 17th century
2 - The origin of the name Palestine is older than Herodotus naming it. It likely derived from the terms the Assyrian and Egyptians referred to the Philistines.
      Between 1100 BCE - 600 BCE
      Assyrian term is Palastu
Egyptian term is Palusata later on but very early sources show Peleset
Notice that is long before the Romans did anything in Palestine.
Luwian texts referred to the area as Walistina and Palistina . This is a language that went extinct by 600 BCE
There’s a statue of a king named Tiata who ruled “Palistin” a land around Aleppo inscribed in Luwian yet again.

The reason for the Israeli siege on Gaza is because Hamas keeps launching rockets and executing terror attacks on Israelis since 2006, and also earlier.
In 2005, Israel withdrew from all of the Gaza Strip. Since then, Gaza is not an occupied territory, and the Palestinians were free to do in Gaza whatever they want. The government of Israel expected that after the withdrawal from Gaza, a peaceful age would begin. If that were the case, then Israel would withdraw also from the West Bank, and a two-state solution would be implemented. Gaze was a test case for this new policy of Israel.
However, in 2006, the Hamas took control of Gaza, and started attacks on Israel without any provocation by Israel. As a response to this, Israel implied a siege on Gaze in 2006. Also preventing construction of an Air-port and sea-port in Gaze strip. All the goods going into Gaze are allowed only from Israel, from "Erez path" after a careful security inspection. The reason for all those limitations is to reduce the ability of Hamas to import weapons on a large scale, as well as construction materials for weapons.
The first paragraph of the Hamas treaty calls for the destruction of Israel, no matter what peace solution will be presented to them.
Israel has always asked for Peace, but the Palestinians as a whole, asked for war. In 1947, there were about 600,000 Jews living in Israel. The land they were leaving on was purchased legally from some Arabic landowners. No land was taken under power. The Jews needed land, as no other country wanted them after the holocaust that ended in 1945. Shortly afterward, on the 29th of November 1947, the UN proposed to divide the land of Israel into two states, while giving the Arabs a much larger area. The Arabs refused to that plan, and opened a multi-nation war against the 600,000 Jews who lived in Israel at that time. The Arab nations called the Arabs who lived here to leave the land, and return after the Jews will be wiped out. However, against all odds, the Jews defeated the Multi-Arab nation war in 1948.
In 2001 there were peace talks, Israel, led by Ehud Barak, was willing to withdraw from Gaze and from the West Bank, but Yaser Arafat refused that peace plan. He wanted the whole of Israel, without a single Jew in it. The same happened again in 2008, when Mahmud-Abas, refused to similar offer from Israel.
One can say that the 2 million Arabs who live in Gaza Strip should not suffer from the policy of the Hamas. In 2006 Hamas was elected in a democratic election. During the 17 years Hamas has been ruling Gaza, there was not a single protest against the Hamas government, nor a request of the residents of Gaze to the world, to end Hamas's leadership on the Strip. The Israelis want a peaceful life, side by side with the Arabs. However, the more Israel surrendered to the Arabic demands, the more terror and attacks it got in response. This is why Israel has no choice but to be aggressive against anyone who tries to destroy it.
Israel has tried the peaceful alternative over and over, and was always disappointed by the Palestinians.

So do I, by the way, but I'm not going to pretend his argument was anything more than an anecdote, of a secondhand story told by a family member, no less. Just because we agree with someone doesn't mean that we need to be intellectually dishonest, especially since doing so helps undermine the very argument you support.
Also, I would be remiss, if in the interest of intellectual integrity, I did not also point out that anecdotal evidence is not a suitable basis for any argument. However, given the situation, if one was able to draw a pattern/trend from this and other stories similar, we can then see how anecdotal tales become data, and even evidence.

The issue is that land doesn't really belong to anybody. Land ownership is a social construct of nations, and therefore only valid by leave of the particular nation currently occupying that land. People in the very civilized nations of today have the luxury of naivety to that and other important factors. Ultimately, only those who can forcibly deny entry to others actually own that land. Thus arguments like this get pretty much nowhere in the global theater, because other, more old-fashioned nations have not forgotten this fact.
This is just one of the many arguments surrounding this issue that lack grounding in reality. Most of those arguments revolve around the "pro-Palestine" side, but clearly, not all.

Thank you very much for revealing this, your family's story Yoseph!
I must shamefully admit that I once supported the so called 'Palestinian cause' over the Israeli one (when I was young, naive and not very well-versed in history - to my 'defense'), although wasn't really 'passionate' about it (I guess I grew up in an environment where I just assumed that 'so many ppl can't be wrong..?).
However, I'm now much more well-read, informed and not so young anymore....and I must say that at least from what I've understood so far - it is not looking so great anymore for the so called 'Palestinian cause'!
I'm not saying now that there are "no innocent civilians" amongst the Palestinian people - of course there are. There always is. But it is still a fact that all the Palestinians are governed by non-democratic, fundamentalistic and violent Islamists! And I don't believe that there can ever be peace and peaceful coexistence in the region - as long as the Palestinian people either do not de- & renounce that kind of Islamist 'ideology', or refuse to let themselves be led by criminal, barbaric and corrupt Islamists!!
Also - I feel that Islamism (as well as all 'extremist ideologies') is surely becoming a serious threat to and in all 'Western' democracies....and we need to 'adress that' - as soon as possible! Which means that both so called 'political correctness' as well as the gloves must go. For all our sakes (irrespective of ethnicity, religious identity, etc..).
    Well, that's MHO anyways.
Love from Sweden - and my support to the people of the democratic state of Israel (again, irrespective of religious inclination - if any ;-) )!

Rule 2 The Vanquished must adapt or die out . Israel won both wars , 1948 and 1967, in the past Israel feared the 22 Arab nations surrounding them and tried half measures of Victory. Israel is now strong and must enforce Rule 1 to protect their citizens and their future generations.
