GW should give people like you some sort of loyalty discount. I mean you buy a huge amount of their releases, including the super expensive stuff like this and the Warlord Titan. People like you are who keeps GW in buisness, it'd be nice if they showed they understood and appreciated that.
As a Tamiya model enthusiast I totally appreciate the pleasure in building models. But £750? That is just crazy money for what it is. But anyway, hope you enjoy it.
I agree it is a lot of money for what is essentially one resin model of an orbital lander set in the science fiction universe known as the 41st Millennium. However it is 6.5kg of highly detailed resin designed by some of the best miniature designers in the world and includes a rules set so it can be used in a popular gaming system (if your battle area is big enough). Also add in my two favourite reasons; it'll keep me away from playing with traffic for a few weeks and will look great in the collection :) I have limited knowledge on Tamiya kits but they use plastic right? The most expensive plane I could find was this: www.emodels.co.uk/hph-models-1-18-messerschmitt-bf-109e-18041l-model-kit.html and it is £400. It consists of fewer lesser detailed (not lower quality) parts and if anything I would say that is overpriced even though it is 1/18 scale. However I don't feel qualified to make such a statement because I do not have them here to physically compare. Tamiya do make some fantastic kits but they can't really be compared due to many differences and both companies cater for two varying demographics.
Awesome model. I just bought one and I live in the USA. It will take a week to get here but am really looking forward to it. It looks very overwhelming. I am going to have my brother in law help me put it together. I have no experience doing a build like this but I had to have it.

You're welcome. It will take a long time to build, to get everything straight and level. Also to paint some parts pre-build. It's going to take longer than the 2 days it took for the Mastodon.
That's fine, you can't rush a model like this. I'm still surprised it took you 2 days for the Mastodon, I do stuff super slowly. How many hours would you say?
After I left the parts overnight to soak, clipped them off their sprues, cleaned up the parts (mold lines, gates etc) and filed them down. The dry build, the glueing and the application of magnets took 2 days. Probably about 10 or so hours I'd say.

I can't find anywhere that it says 200,000 or not. It was presumed after creating the initial 1,000 on Terra that the Legion was brought up to full strength which could be 100-200,000. After the unification wars their numbers dwindled as a result of the flesh change. Once the Emperor left Prospero their mutations afflicted the entire legion leaving around 1,000. Once Magnus worked his 'magic' to alter their genes they could recruit again and managed to reach 10,000 when Russ arrived.

Wasn’t even aware they did them for the old ones. Still do them for all the Titans. Titans are pretty special compared to generic mass produced flyers that can be operated by any space marine though.
