We're so close we can almost taste it! In this weeks episode the van really starts to feel like its becoming a cozy little home on wheels. We get the water system up and running, gas system functioning, the water heater and diesel heater working, the cupboard doors on and the drawers in and the bathroom finished. Jon shows how simple it is to fit an after burner unit which makes our cheap diesel heater work in the same was and expensive thermostat controlled heater. I make the mistake of leaving Jon unattended filming for the morning and we share our tips and things to look out for if you are considering converting one of these vans.

A little tip if I may. Swap the blinds around so the fly screen pulls from the top and blackout blind from the bottom. You can slightly crack them in the morning to let light in but still walk around in your underpants 😉👌🏽🤣

On the door / drawer latch plates, if you get a small length of Aluminium angle, mark and drill a couple of holes (that correspond with the latch plate) in the right distance from the inner edge. hold up against the side panel and drill through the holes, a small nick filed out on the edge will serve as a centre mark.

Diesel waxes over when cold so I hope you have something in mind to keep it liquid. Also bottled gas freezes when pressure is released.

Cheers mate, yeah so I only learned the other day from the farmer next door that they put an affective in Diesel to stop it freezing and the petrol stations do this automatically but he has to ask for it when ordering a tank refill for his farm

Fair play for landing a big boy sponsor, well deserved!! I use quite a bit of R-Tech kit, I have one of their mig's, hand held plasma cutter and the CNC plasma uses an R-Tech unit. Uses need a child traveling around with children is amazing and great way for them to learn. Can’t wait for the day your building a kids bed in one of them
We love kids and spend lots of time with our niece and nephews but have no plans to have our own. We have made a van with a pull out kids bed before though which was fun so might have to do another one one day 😀
