I think distancing yourself from other people who truly aren't good for you is good but I asked my mom about dropping my friends and she said you should take a break cuz youre gonna miss your frienda and I find that beyond black and white.
As someone who has been chasing emotionally unavailable people my whole life, I really needed to hear this. I'm tired of trying to please people in order for them to stay, especially since I really cared about someone I recently met, yet they kept choosing other people, toxic people, over me. This really traumatized me to the point that now I get panic attacks every time I encounter that person and start crying afterwards because of how much that person hurt me all because I was chasing the wrong person. Instead, I should have just focused on my passions and being myself; and then, the right type of people will come along and accept you and see your true value.
Parents that think their kids owe them anything rile me up. I didn't ask to be born. I know they raised me and I'm grateful for that but it doesn't mean I'm obligated to give back everything and look after you in your retirement. I can try but don't rely on me like that.
