    Oh wow, this is really interesting, I think I also fell in the mistake of "thanking" too much some people for some experiences, but in the end, I didn't become who I am because of those people, but because of how I chose to handle those situations, so now I can happily remove them from my life story, keeping the lessons, wow.

    Amazing message!! Something big changed for me a couple years ago when I realized that pain =/= suffering, and that pain is inevitable but suffering was optional. Whenever I feel pain, instead of overthinking it and turning it into suffering, I just say “I’m allowed to feel this pain right now. This is the human condition.” And it’s sooooo empowering. Often the pain dissolves moments later.

    I think a good example of the society's obsession with suffering is the debates on ozempic. Yeah there are people who are genuinely concerned about possible side effects but most of the time people are hating on ozempic users for choosing the "easy route." They literally have a problem with people losing weight without suffering enough. And then the users are trying to defend themselves by talking about the dizziness, nausea, and other problems they had. I was shocked when I was reading reddit comments like what😂 for our society not suffering enough during the process automatically means you don't deserve what you get. Being happy or content (independent of the context) is shamed and punished. Our parents and teachers operate with the same logic so we all turn into suffering addicts in the end. Let's gooo and end this unnecessary addiction🎉

      Wooahhh this is a really great example! I had to sit back and think about this for a bit.

    • @sillycato124
      @sillycato124 หลายเดือนก่อน

      that is NOT why people (at least normal people) are mad about the use of Ozempic to loose weight. Ozempic is primarily a medicine for type 2 diabetics, they NEED it to regulate their blood sugar levels. It could be a case of life or death for them to have or not have access to the medication. Now celebrities, a while ago, started popularizing the use of Ozempic once they realized it helped them lose weight. I couldn't care less what people do to their own bodies as long as it doesn't affect others lives. Now why does this affect anyone's life? You might ask. Well because the celebrities obsession with this drug has started causing shortages and the rising of prices, a lot of middle/lower class people with type 2 diabetes have been finding it insanely hard to afford and/or find the medication that they NEED to literally survive. So no, it has nothing to do with the "easy route" or whatever you were thinking. The "Ozempic Debate" is a debate on how far Hollywood is willing to go without caring for "normal people's" lives.

    • @11angels16
      @11angels16 21 วันที่ผ่านมา

      I agree with you in almost everything but the main problem with ozempic (for me) is the amounts of people who actually need it to treat diabetes and can't find it due to to this "trend"😢

    I lived in 2 third world countries and those were the best years of my life before I moved to the 1st world countries-which are now one of the best places to live in the world (Safety, Culture, Cost of Living, etc). I also say I would send my children to grow up or have a mission in the third world country, not for suffering, but so they can learn what true happiness outside of material and social life is.

    One of my favorite authors Pete Walker has an amazing story about this topic. He was visiting a third-world country (Bangladesh I believe) a long time ago, and there was a catastrophic flood overnight. Thousands of people lost their homes or died. So when he woke up he expected the streets outside his hostel to be a blighted hellscape of pain, death, and sorrow. But instead he saw families cooking on makeshift stoves, children running and playing in the streets, and people talking and helping each other. Even in the face of one of the MOST traumatizing things that can happen to a person (catastrophic natural disaster), the people he saw chose to keep going and be grateful for what they still had, even if it was simply being alive. Even reading his account of it was so moving to me I think of it every time I realize I am suffering for no reason.

    Suffering is like when you eat you gotta poop. We dont glorify the poop or the process of excreting like how we glorify and celebrate food and the culinary arts, but we do fully accept that we must poop. Every dimension of life has its "poop" or release, or negative element, therefore, suffering is not optional. You are wrong if you think it is. We are born out of suffering, as birthing itself is an exhausting, arduous process. Suffering is indeed a concomitant of pleasure. You must suffer because it is the law. There is no option not to. However, the mind is so maleable that we can make our suffering a tolerable, even pleasurable experience by shifting its focus through mental transmutation, allowing time to do its work, flushing out the suffering once the season for suffering arises.

    • @theloveboat1999
      @theloveboat1999 หลายเดือนก่อน +5

      You’re exactly proving her point though some of us are ATTACHED to suffering like we need it in our life like we don’t need to suffer through pain, pain is inevitable which is the poop i guess LMAO but we don’t need to love it

      @theloveboat1999 i think she is talking about the inadvertent romanticizing of suffering people do when she mentions the glorification of it. Im talking about dualism and the reality of suffering, but specifically the reality of suffering as it relates to pleasure and about what we can do to counter the consequential nature of suffering through imaginative efforts. I can agree with "lets stop glorifying suffering" as i hinted at in my comment, but what i can't agree with is the caption "suffering is an option". It's not an option in this causal reality.

    Without suffering you won't change. This is how people are. Accept it, or continue to live in a fantasy which will eventually collapse in to suffering. There is no avoiding it. Also, if you avoid change then it will lead to suffering. Suffer = change. Inflexibility = suffer. Either way, learn to endure. The best way to avoid the most suffering is to obey God's commandments because they lead you on a path to peaceful living.

    • @ChocolateMuffin308

      People change through learning. Learning doesn't require suffering.
      Also, anyone who preaches about 'God's commandments' in comment sections cannot possibly have a flexible mind.
