Chris, get a impact socket that fits in the handle for the crank and keep tour Milwaukee 1/2 impact in your truck. It makes it mad easy to lower those feet.

When you plug in the trailer lights to your truck it should charge the battery. We also went on Amazon and bought solar panels that we hooked up to the batteries and they keep them charged while the trailer sits
You can use an Alternator off a 2001 Sentra SE SR20 you just have to switch the pulley but that works great I had the same problem with my SR20VE+T and since switching I haven’t had any issues
You can charge that battery with your truck. The audio shop you had do your head unit may be able too. You just need 1/0 running from front batter to a 1/0 waterpoof connectors on the rear bumper. Or bed in your case. Then from trailer battery to connectors. Hook up like the trailer lights basicaly.
@02:19, your new cd player has 2 inputs for cameras, you should use 2nd input for a bed camera that allows you to align your trailer hitch without getting out of the truck. mount camera just behind goose neck to the fuel cell. you will never need anyone to guide you again. you can see exactly where and how youre aligned ;)

You need a split charge relay to charge off the truck but I'd recommend just putting a solar panel on the roof of the trailer then you'll never have any issues. Atb Steve
there's a simple way to keep your trailer jack battery charged all you need to do is buy a simple cigarette lighter trickle charger to plug into your truck extend the line and run it to your trailer and whenever you're driving it have it connected to charge the battery that way whenever you need to connect or disconnect it will always be charged..
I was thinking if you ever have to load the trailer yourself again, with your fancy new head unit you can put more than one camera input if I’m not wrong so you could get like a gooseneck cam?, like mount it up towards your third brake light and get one that points slightly downwards and it might help a lot with hooking it up by yourself?. Chris you should consider getting all new 14 ply tires called All Steel for the trailer. They are the only tires that I use on my trailers and I flathaul oilfield equipment with them.
The trailer should have a big like car battery on it for the jack I would mount a 12v solar panel charger on the gooseneck that way it stays charged. That small battery is for the brakes

A solar charger would be nice for that trailer battery. A 12V battery solar charger is less than 100$ and I'm sure that being on the roof of that thing would keep your battery from ever discharging. Also investing in a jump starter would be clever since you always seem to run into battery problems, and I'm sure that would've been enough to lift that trailer at least once.
You can get wireless back up cameras for the back of your trailer so you don’t have that huge blind spot. People use them a lot on slide in truck campers because ya can’t see shit with that in your bed.

Use a framing square or 3ft metal ruler placed on both pulleys then use a level on top of the ruler it should give you and idea if one is out or in too far! I’m not a mechanic and they probably make a tool for it but if you don’t have one it will give you an idea at least
I had a trailer like that and it had two gears for raising and lowering it all ya had to do was push in on the crank handle and it was really easy to raise or ya could pull it and it would go up faster for when the trailer was empty
Custom make a harness and leads, from your alternator /battery in the truck, to some kind of port into your back bumper. Another slave harness that plugs into that port that you attach to that battery. Figure some kind of relay and fuse/button to activate the shit
Get a extension cord that goes from the plug on the back of the truck to the plug on the trailer.. and the truck should charge the battery on the trailer when it’s plugged in..

They make 3rd brake lights that have a camera built in on them when you put it in reverse you can switch between the reverse camera or the “cargo” camera itll make hookin the goose up easier
You should check if your signal wire that is apart of the plug that goes into the alternator is a little loose or broken because that is what is supposed to regulate your alternater power output. I blew 3 alternater in 2 days because my signal wire was broken LOOL

Use your gopro connected to your phone and put it in the bed when you need to backup. Temporary backup camera. Thumbs up so he can see

You can get a kit for the SR to make it run a GM Ls engine alternator. Their way more readily available and way more reliable
