Awesome video as always! The 7 is such a downgrade in terms of portability and comes with no water resistance. The one larger woofer and passive radiators in the 5-6 produce nicer bass. The 6 is so unique it looks great in the living room and can actually be taken to places and it sounds really great.
The studio 6 is more convenient but the studio 7 coming from the studio 5 is a big improvement in mids and high lower bass increased but not by much still for under 200$ as far as sound quality for indoors is good but the pathetic batteries on them cripples the usage
Hello all. Does anyone experienced an annoying buzz from the control button or from the upper area of the speaker when listening to some deep bass songs? I hear it and it's only at 50% volume level. If I increase the volume, the buzz also increases. I would really appreciate if anyone who owns a HK7 would be willing to make a test and tell me the result. On mine the problem appears on the range between 36 and 65Hz. I still have 5 days to return it to the shop. Thank you very much!

I got the studio 7 on a discount, design is not practical, but I'm not carrying it around anyway. Sounds great honestly, sound is extremely directional so stereo doesn't make a big difference. Overall tho it's a great sounding speaker for bigger rooms, bass is very impressive, songs sound rich and thick, especially nice for funk/jazz/fusion.
Heya Oluv! Awesome job from you. Just purchased Citation 200 and noticed bass stoping in increase by 75% volume too. This is too sudden and harsh processing. They should smooth it out a bit. Other than that, it is good for the price.
its simply because thats pretty much at the limit the driver and passive radiator can take to not go into distortion or over physical movement limits its easy to push mids and highs louder than bass in a limited size like these are
I have both the 6 and the 7, and I'm planning on using the internals of my 6 to create a custom portable "PA"-speaker with the ability to run on 18V Ryobi battery. This will give me increased bass and volume on battery as it will power the 19V DC input, tricking the speaker into thinking it's connected to the mains adapter, and about 7 times the battery size. I will still keep the original internal 18650 so I don't have to stop the music while changing the Ryobi battery. It will be used for party camps with friends, as my Partybox 300 is a bit too large. Might have much better battery life than the 300 too.

It’s the same speaker like before. I didn’t notice any particular difference in sound. I wouldn’t even bother with all the others as you can get a Motion Boom for so cheap and it sounds better than most with the EQ properly adjusted.

Studio onyx 6 is imo the best allrouder for 200EUR. I just wished it was more rugged because the fabric is fragile. The style of the Onyx7 is not practical i think..
Same for me, sure it doesn’t sound the best or something but nothing in this size has bass this nice with the great open soundstage you get thanks to the placement of the drivers. I wish they made an update to this model.
Put that thing in the trash. Lol. I git a go play plus just few weeks ago to replace my onyx 6, gave it back immediately and got the onyx 7. Go play plus sounds the same as any other speaker I've tested. Waste of money

Had to sell the onyx 7 for one reason. The handle. I hated it, ita was annoying when taking outside but i loved the sound tho. Definetly gonna get the onyx 6 even if its used.
My Opinion.These are put against the bench so the bass is increased. These lose a lot of bass outdoors. The bass dynamics also not better indoors because of room cancellation(it is boosted though).The treble is quite weird to the ear for casual listening. Mids are uncontrolled and suppressed too much. These are great for deep bass music to impress your friends but really nothing more than that. I’d say if you were looking in this price range the go+play still is a tad better or just go with the vifa helsinki or oslo.
@@KAYBE_CO if you just want high levels then sure, but even here the go+play is simply lacking hardly louder than a JBL Xtreme. and overall tuning is worse, the Onyx series have a more natural more realistic response and the bass is definitely more impressive from the Onyx.

I mostly use the 7 at or under 60% of volume so it's fine for me ! Regarding the Bass, when you press the Bluetooth button and the volume down for 10 seconds, you will get more bass. It could also be that it will decrease the bass. It was then already setup with more bass. You could do the same again to get more bass. About the battery life. There is a mod where you could add an extra battery that will extend it with the double time off battery life. I'm not sure if someone here already has done both or has also seen it on TH-cam.
I'm considering onyx 7 before buying for home, I liked it for the more voluminous stereo sound than onyx 6, considered go play + but it has a problem battery that breaks
Not really, the move sounds a little all over the place for my tastes. I own one right now and at lower volumes there’s a really nice lower bass punch to the speaker that sounds quite satisfying to some degree, mids aren’t too bad either and treble frequencies sound reasonable considering they’re coming from a downward firing tweeter. The problem with the move is soon as you play the speaker past half volume, the DSP cuts pretty much all deep bass and it becomes quite tinny and thin sounding for a speaker it’s size, especially when you consider the size of woofer they are using. At max volume it turns into a mids and treble monster and overall just becomes far to harsh sounding.
I have the Onyx Studio 7. I was surprised by the sound when I listened first time. Even today it shocks with the bass but I am tired. I got an EQ in AIMP and I lowered the one note bass and increased the 8-11.2khz range with just 2-3 decibells. Now sounds more open and less boomy. I think it's improved the sound. Overall the onyx studio line have calibrated mids which give the natural sound, but sounds a bit closed even indoor. That 2-3 decibell in the highs changed everything for me, it is a new speaker.

Apart from the one note bass boost the Onyx series always had a way more natural sound than the go+play

The problem with the move is soon as you play the speaker past half volume, the DSP cuts pretty much all deep bass and it becomes quite tinny and thin sounding for a speaker it’s size, especially when you consider the size of woofer they are using. At max volume it turns into a mids and treble monster and overall just becomes far to harsh sounding.

onyx 6 sound little crispy and clear than 7 i will chose onyx 6....
The opposite. 7 is more clear and better midrange. 6 has stronger and better bass. Both are equals in sound due to mixed preferences
Much prefer the 6.

I have the Onyx Studio 7. I was surprised by the sound when I listened first time. Even today it shocks with the bass but I am tired.
I got an EQ in AIMP and I lowered the one note bass and increased the 8-11.2khz range with just 2-3 decibells. Now sounds more open and less boomy. I think it's improved the sound. Overall the onyx studio line have calibrated mids which give the natural sound, but sounds a bit closed even indoor. That 2-3 decibell in the highs changed everything for me, it is a new speaker.
They completely ruined the design, sticking to the 6 which also sounds much better.
