    Thanks for the upper piano. I've been doing these licks for years, but see on your demo piano where I've been kinda sloppy, and not as sure at times. Listening, looking, and understanding some basic theory, triads from the get go, but going back over things I've previously only played by ear, but now practicing within scales Blues scale, major scale, minor, and major pentatonic has given me much more confidence on not only the piano, but also guitar, harp, even blues ukelele!

      Allgemein nein. Oft stelle ich fest dass ich den spiele, den ich einem Schüler nicht empfehlen würde. Hat verschiedene Gründe, die hier zu weit führen. Ausser in erklärenden Videos, wo ich über den Fingersatz rede. Da schon. Oft hilf einfaches Nachdenken, wofür ein Fingersatz eigentlich ist, dass man selbst auf eine gute Lösung kommt. :-)

    I am curious Christian - do you have a hard and fast reason for not using your pinkie and third fingers in that "thirds" chromatic run? Would it be setting me up for a bad habit if I was to use them instead of the index/ring fingering for the top part of that run? If I am saying this right, you said 'Jimmy Yancey'? lick, you used your pinkie and ring fingers when you played it naturally but you did not use them when you did the demonstration. That tells me - do what comes naturally for the fingering, yes? I'm headed off for more of your shares - thanks, I can't believe these are offered for free! I will be contributing for sure. This is what I wanted to be taught when I was given lessons as a child and I was force-fed classical - stupid me, I didn't understand that I could have just taught myself (of course the internet was still 40 years away).

    • @ChristianFuchsBlues
      @ChristianFuchsBlues  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      In classical one would take the settings that can in a specific moment tie the notes. In Blues I've seen all sorts. Dr. John doesnt even bother to use different fingers. So use what feels best for you or what you did all along before doing time intensive reprogramming.
