I'm so gratified to hear from someone who really appreciates Luca's immense talent and virtuosity. I've been supporting and sponsoring him ever since he was a kid and never cease to be amazed. Here is one of his latest performances in my old home country, Hungary last week: th-cam.com/video/iIZgjhg_Dds/w-d-xo.html
+Laszlo Szechenyi yep. Very nice. Im not a huge boogie fan. However i most certainly respect and admire his talent. I also follow hugo silver. A young frenchman who plays more pop music than blues. Hes young and talented and is getting better and better. Also for the heck of it...seeing as you support talent, you might look intopiano around the world. Laszlo Szechenyi My pleasure to listen to your suggestion. I am just today nursing a nasty cold, so really enjoying a little downtime listening to music. I may even play my own piano at some point today, something lacking lately with a crazy workload and pleasures of summer between. Thanks for posting this great music :-) ~Jackie
I'm so glad that you enjoy my vey close friend's, Luca's music! So do about 12 million people who have all viewed his many numbers on TH-cam! Those numbers attest to his stature as one of the very top figures in his field of music today. If you have some time - and please take good care of your cold - watch his entire concert at Siam Parc, Switzerland. It comes in three Videos beginning with th-cam.com/video/QxBkzhA9pUY/w-d-xo.html . I'll post the other two links below. The second number at this event is called "Laci's Boogie" and he has composed it for me... Laci is my nickname in Hungarian ! Ha...ha...
Laszlo - big thank you. I was stunned. It's not the obvious skills that Luca demonstrates it's the feeeeeel that he blends into the piece. This level of feeling is normally only delivered by a voice with soul or the very BEST blues guitars - and he's only 17!
Thank you David ! I'm always gratified if someone listens and understands... not everyone can do that! Yes, Luca's talent goes very deep. This composition turned out to be one of his most successful, as evidenced by the number of hits ! Now at 21, he continues to develop his expertise and he is branching out in various directions supported by his studies at the Popakademie in Mannheim, Germany. Complying with world-wide demand he just published a very successful book of sheet music with his own compositions and his two CD's are also selling extremely well. Please visit his homepage at www.lucasestak.com/en/

Kevin, I agree. We all live our own soul. But to be able to express and share it with others is a talent that is an incredible gift of God or fate. It may differ from someone else's inner feelings but it is an unforgettable reflection of the innermost landscape of the person who is projecting it. To be able to listen and to accept is also a gift.
What you call a "gift", others call "thousands of hours of hard work." To dismiss all this hard work by calling it a "gift" is insulting to anyone that ever spent a minute running scales up and down a piano.
Don't misunderstand. What I would call "gift" is not the way he plays today, but the TALENT to be able to play like that. Very few have it. To be able to "live" music in any form is, I think, indeed a gift. But I'm fully aware of the endless hours of practice, willpower, stamina and hard work mandatory to use one's talent and to reach this level of excellence.

Absolutely incredible talent and skill. and to all these "Ney Sayers", record and post your own video of your talent. Nothing but enjoyment from listening to Luca play.
I really enjoyed this video. As a Black man who loves blues, and understands that it's Black music, I love to see Luca put his own twist to it. It seems as if he's playing in C. I play piano, and in my opinion, Jazz, Classical, and blues are the hardest forms of piano to play, because you have build up your forearm muscles and finger strength to play fast piano and learn to play fast licks. This takes years to master. Keep up the good work Luca, and thanks for inspiring me to play the piano again

LG Laszlo

Thank's very much Laszlo for the tip. I loved is new compositions. When so many artists improvise the boogie it still sounds very familiar, but not with Luca. His shuffle in D is so original and brilliant. He is developing and improving all the time. Thanks again, Greg
It's so beautiful, thank you much Luca, and you have not changed; and also, think to give us sometimes your smile because smile is a thousand times more to offer your music ... true.
I listen to lots of piano, and a lot of it is quite good. But, a far as I am concerned, Luca is unique. He is so sensitive. He is captivating. I love his interpretations and improvisations. I pray that he never looses his love of music.
Thank you Marathonracer, I agree... Luca taught himself to play Boogie and Blues because he LIKED that music while taking classsical piano lessons! There is no question about the feelings he puts into everything he plays. I should know... I observed him completely immersed in his music and in his piano when he turned 17 here at our house in Florida! He told me : "Das Klavier bin ich"... the piano is me... it's part of him. An admirable talent.
This is fantastic. The blues is my favorite style but it has to be done Really well to not sound tired. This was really appreciated. Looking for more Luca Sestak. And thanks for the upload.
Luca will be practicing much more now that he graduated from high school with excellent results. Now at last he can devote the needed time to advance his promising musical career. He is supported by a world-wide audience on the internet. (6.5 million hits on TH-cam!) Please continue to do so!
Holy cow son play the keys off that piano made me feel the blues and chills deep down in my soul your playing my kind of music on piano go ahead son!! Huge thumbs up 👍
First watched this video about 5 years ago. Every time I see it on my recommenced watch list I listen to it again. I think this is one of his best performances, at least for his slow blues live performances.
Thak you WPCAL! You and I are - obviously - singing the same tune! I was first struck by Luca's artistry when he sas 12. I met him at 14, and we clebrated his 17th at our house just Last January. Please listen to the development of this piece at the links in the description. All the best, Laszlo
All these comments, of course this has SOUL, you just have to feel his type of music and not compare it to other blues. I had goosebumps listening to this
Great comment, THANK YOU ! People tend to forget that this is an IMPROVISATION, not a cover of any blues song, just an outpouring of a 17 year old master musician's inner feelings. Besides being a virtuoso on the piano who plays his own interpretations of boogie, blues, jazz, funk and even classical influences, Luca is also a composer, and a vocalist who has published two CD's and a book of sheet music of his own numbers. If you haven't done so yet, please visit his home page at www.piano99.com and his TH-cam site at th-cam.com/users/luckyluca99 where you will see and hear an overwhelming treasure trove of world-class music. I also recommend his concert at Siam Parc in Switzerland th-cam.com/video/QxBkzhA9pUY/w-d-xo.html ENJOY!
This pianist is very talented in every way. He also has a delicate, even polite attitude towards his audience and can be hurt if people do not immediately react positively to his ideas. I think Oscar Peterson got past that stage and so will he. To Peterson, gaps in music were rests to produce the next, the most obvious, the best continuation of that silence. This is something of supreme talent. This young man needs to be patient but he lacks nothing.
A few years have passed since this performance Robert! Take a look at a few more recent ones in Bad Ems a few days ago (Let the videos continue automatically after the first piece. They're his own compositions.) th-cam.com/video/cRpkI6jopG0/w-d-xo.html Enjoy !
Thank you Laszlo Szechenyi, I was this morning listening to a little known recording made in Tallin, (Estonia) by Oscar Peterson in 1974. Having visited USA myself I can only say that in Florida in particular there are many opportunities for performances of this type of music. I am not suggesting there is a necessary link between your friend and Oscar Peterson but I note it was from around that time (1974) that Peterson had realised he had to travel widely - which he of course did, to Prague, Tallin, London, Italy etc etc - and this because of course he was not native American born (Canada) and because the music scene in the States was almost inaccessible to his real talent for some considerable time. Edinburgh in Scotland has a wonderful music festival every year attended by Asians, Russians, Americans and everyone else. Its 'fringe' events include jazz performances. Thanks for the suggestion of listening to Luca Sestak from his work made at Bad Ems. Do you have a postal address ? I would like to send you and your friend a copy of that rare recording made by O.P. in late 1974. My email is robnewman111@yahoo.co.uk I live in Dorset, Southern England. RN
Oh yes, OP was incredibly talented, he followed in Art Tatum's footsteps and was marvelous. Thanks for sending me the recording, but if you have it on line it can be sent via We Transfer (up to 2 GB free) wetransfer.com/ to my email address laszlos01@comcast.net or by snail mail to my postal address which is 1450 Venice East Blvd. Apt 111, Venice, FL 34275. I have a tremendous collection of Jazz, Big Bands, Dixieland, Blues and of course Boogie-woogie! I've been taking videos of Luca's concerts and private performances since he was 14. He played in the UK several times.
Luca , You really belong among the worlds best bluespianoplayers, this is absolutely fantastic, it has the Dave Grusin kind of excellent quality written all over it! You are absolutely amazing Luca! I just LOVE it! 10/10 Your friend Magnus in Sweden :-)
This is just crazy! Does he tour yet? He should come over to United States and play with my slow blues band once for the experience. What a great player. Mind blowing.
I have been admiring Luca for several years. He has always been my favorite since I first heard him. I do have a request Luca, and that is that you play 2 songs and put on youtube. Always On My Mind and Georgia on My Mind. I think you would be outstanding playing them. You are the best.
I would love to hear this young man turn lose on Franz Liszt, or Chopin for that matter. His classical start is certainly not wasted, though I would have guessed much younger. Excellent modulation and time sense. Wonderful performance. Great success to you, Mr. Luca.
Okay, okay, I'll go first. 'Amazing' is now way over used but think about it, after watching over the years what can you still say? Luca's talent is obvious but seeing him have fun with his music and audiences is a blast! Thank-you Laszlo for sharing this and in a way your friendship. I can't get the smile off of my face. I promise that only 10 or so out of the 70 views are mine:) Greetings! wpcal
When I first saw this video, I was so happy because I could hear him adopting certain Oscar Peterson phrases. And TODAY, I've just noticed that Luca himself added to his favourites videos an Oscar Peterson solo. I cannot wait to see how Luca evolves in the near future!
That is not playing.........that is expression of the soul through the keys on a piano.
Bravo!!

I love how Laszlo says that Luca's musical teacher didn't oppose his self-taught direction; however, my piano teacher and mom did. They always wanted me to learn how to read the notes; however, I was playing by ear at age 4 with both hands. Today, I'm back into playing without the aid of reading notes, Luca is an inspiration.
I had this happen to me...I have a SERIOUS passion for piano and it's really something that reflects on where we are in our consciousness as a species (continuing trying to force something because you think it's the "RIGHT" or "BEST" way to do things...

miss listening to blues man, u just gave it to my SOUL :) nice sound bruh
GODDAMMIT! I work and work and I work for the past 14 years and then this guy comes along.
I'm not a piano player but it seems his use of the peddles is truly intuitive.
Doy Rayburn Yeah, lol, he's using it as a beat which is cool. It's fun to do that.
This is fantastic. The blues is my favorite style but it has to be done Really well to not sound tired. This was really appreciated. Looking for more Luca Sestak. And thanks for the upload.
Truly an amazing talent.Thank you for sharing. I love this type of music and he plays it so effortlessly and has such fun. It is a joy to listen to.
Luca will be practicing much more now that he graduated from high school with excellent results. Now at last he can devote the needed time to advance his promising musical career. He is supported by a world-wide audience on the internet. (6.5 million hits on TH-cam!) Please continue to do so!
This is stunningly great! After playing like that I would probably have to turn the piano upside down! and shout, yeah! Yeah, damit Yeah!"
OK. I'm addicted. Where do I find more slow blues piano?
Andy, in addition to many boogies you can find more of Luca's blues on his TH-cam Channel th-cam.com/users/luckyluca99 Happy watching!
Thanks. Just bought the CD. Should be blaring in the car in a few days.
I felt it, Luca. Fantastic.
very elegant blues! strong talent in this young guy!
I also recommend his concert at Siam Parc in Switzerland th-cam.com/video/QxBkzhA9pUY/w-d-xo.html ENJOY!
this is as good as it gets. i thought i was the youngest that loves the blues . rock on man !
Thank you Laszlo Szechenyi,
I was this morning listening to a little known recording made in Tallin, (Estonia) by Oscar Peterson in 1974.
My email is robnewman111@yahoo.co.uk
I live in Dorset, Southern England.

I love your improvisation !
Luca , You really belong among the worlds best bluespianoplayers, this is absolutely fantastic, it has the Dave Grusin kind of excellent quality written all over it! You are absolutely amazing Luca! I just LOVE it! 10/10
Your friend Magnus in Sweden :-)
One of the best Luca!😍
Outstanding. Love his harmonies. Very cool!
Really good improvisaton with fantastic sound..bravissimo!!!
HAD TO COME BACK.....LOVE THIS.....
Welcome back! Luca will be great in this number forever. Have you seen him in this number he composed for me? th-cam.com/video/2wdshhMIV40/w-d-xo.html
This is just crazy! Does he tour yet? He should come over to United States and play with my slow blues band once for the experience. What a great player. Mind blowing.
Vocals would of course round this masterpiece out nicely. Bravo Luca!
I have been admiring Luca for several years. He has always been my favorite since I first heard him. I do have a request Luca, and that is that you play 2 songs and put on youtube. Always On My Mind and Georgia on My Mind. I think you would be outstanding playing them. You are the best.
Quelle régal splendide merci Mr lucas
no matter what anyone says you keep playing the way you feel it!!!
Man you can hear the spiritual overtones coming thru really well on this one, esp when be plays with the left hand.
I DONT THINK ANYONE CAN PLAY BLUES LIKE HIM. IM THINKING OF COMPOSING A BLUESY TUNE BUT I ALREADY KNOW ITS NOT GOING TO BE AS GOOD AS THIS.
I kind of agree with you Chris Horton! it does lack that warmth of spontaneity or something akin to that? I still enjoyed it!
I love this I am starting to learn blues!
I would love to hear this young man turn lose on Franz Liszt, or Chopin for that matter. His classical start is certainly not wasted, though I would have guessed much younger. Excellent modulation and time sense. Wonderful performance. Great success to you, Mr. Luca.
Hold on friends, a new CD by Luca is in the making; it will appear soon. Keep watching for it... you'll be pleasantly surprised, I guarantee it !!
eres un mostró
monstruo
Josue Jiménez Jiménez te quedas corto, wooooww
Okay, okay, I'll go first. 'Amazing' is now way over used but think about it, after watching over the years what can you still say? Luca's talent is obvious but seeing him have fun with his music and audiences is a blast! Thank-you Laszlo for sharing this and in a way your friendship. I can't get the smile off of my face. I promise that only 10 or so out of the 70 views are mine:) Greetings! wpcal
Lucas Sestak is incredible...amazing.
Wow, that was epic!
First time hearing him , he is amazing!!! Its addictive its so good!!!!
this brings full on tears to my eyes
Why doesn't somebody promote this guy into a star that he obviously has the ability to achieve???? talent...?? you bet!!!!
its magnific ! 2021 from Chile A hug
When I first saw this video, I was so happy because I could hear him adopting certain Oscar Peterson phrases. And TODAY, I've just noticed that Luca himself added to his favourites videos an Oscar Peterson solo. I cannot wait to see how Luca evolves in the near future!
Awesome. You're so talented.
Dunno whether to laugh or cry. This young bloke is the goods!
That's great, I look forward to seeing that soon.
