Part1: • #008-2: Building Batte... In this video, I show how I design and build my battery packs. Links: lbre.de/hp/BPC/BPC.html foil.zone/t/battery-calculato...
You mean the rectangular slots? It is so that the current of the spot welder needs to flow down through the nickel, in the metal case of the battery and back through the other side up the nickel to the other electrode. Without the holes more current will flow directly through the nickel not contributing to the weld. But that's also not a big problem, usually just need more Energy while welding. I prefer the slots, but both with and without are fine.
@@ludwigbre Thanks! Also question about charging. If I charge using BMS my battery pack of 10s4p Samsung INR21700-40T (40T3). It looks like I will need 42 volt charger. How do I know what charging current my power block should support to not overheat it? Does BMS somehow limit the charge current?
@@dinosaurux What do you mean by power block? You will always need a CC-CV charger that is made to charge LiPo batteries by both controlling current (CC) as well as voltage (CV) The BMS can only do the balancing of the cells as well as shutting off in case of a failure
@@ludwigbre I wanted to post here a clarifying question about by planned setup with links from Aliexpress (BMS + Charger), but it looks like youtube bans such posts. I've sent you this info by e-mail.
Would a battery build work a my lift foil ? I am worried the data port not being connected will not allow my board to function. Thank you. Great build.
For solar panels you will need a charging controller, e.g. MPPT Solar Charger. The inverter can be connected directly, make sure the voltage is correct for that
Please continue the series Ludwig!
thanks to take the time to share details ! what is probably not super clear is the connection with 1.5mm copper wire. All the other is nice! thanks !
Wich size of electrical cable yo uses for conecting the baterry of the motor. Good luck 👍
Thanks Ludwig! Nice video. Can you explain why the nickel strip has small holes in the places where battery is attached/welded?

Really nice build! Where did you get that big electrical box to put the battery in?
Thanks for the feedback! EAN of the box is 2050000001161, you can search that at your local distributor (in Europe at least)

No on a commercial lift you will need the electronics that talk to the board..
@@ludwigbre ok thank you.
Can you explain connecting this battery to solar panels for charging and from the batteries to an external power adapter(inverter)?

@@ludwigbre thank you
Do you have a link to the step-up charger you use?
Search term is "1200W Step Up", will return something like that (there are many manifacturers) de.aliexpress.com/item/1005004177949922.html
I have 3 e foil batteries in the Netherland and I need your help for them Ludwig. We need to get in touch some how.
You can contact me via the email address on my homepage, lbre.de
Hola ...que grosor del cable eléctrico usaste para conectar la bateria al motor. Gracias
Hola, utilizado 8AWG / 8mm²
Muchas gracias 👍..me gustó mucho tu video.
Do you have an efoil design yet ?
I’ve been wanting to start a build.
I use the easyfoil, have a look at the start of my VESC tutorial. There I give a short overview.
