Back in the day Midnight Coup was one of my favourite weapons to run and I'm not disappointed in the slightest with its recent reprisal. Of course the classic Outlaw Rampage combo returns but nowadays it's vastly overshadowed by more powerful perks such as Frenzy, Explosive Payload or Firefly. Really, the main thing people were wondering is how it would stack up versus Fatebringer, the previous best Kinetic Hand Cannon. Fortunately, Midnight Coup also gets the popular Explosive Payload Frenzy that was so great on Fatebringer in the past, while also having the new combo of Firefly Frenzy, my personal favourite. Even when looking at the base stats, Midnight Coup is higher in most if not all of them, plus it has the Indomitability origin trait that grants a small amount of grenade energy on kill, which is pretty nice. Overall I'm very happy with it's reprisal, and you should definitely go out and get one if you're a fan of hard-hitting Hand Cannons. Anyways, enjoy!

Honestly, a massive part of a wepon is how it feels. On strand, I permanently use round robin with hatchling over any meta strand options because I like the gun. The sound, skeleton of the gun and ADS just clicks well with me. Using a gun you like gives you confidence. Confidence makes you a better player more than a meta loaldout ever will.

Explosive Frenzy was the roll i got on a shiny. Already racked up 2000 kills on it. Feels amazing. The other 2 perks it rolled with was Shoot to Loot and Desperate Measures. Firefly One for All is pretty decent tbh
You should try Firefly and one for all. It procs on generally one pricision hit. Frenzy is good but FIrefly already makes the reload 100 and it already has high base handling so Frenzy is kinda loses it's value
i have this roll and it's just nice that one precision kill with a lot of adds around gives you so much, they take ao dmg from firefly, you get reload speed and a 35 dmg buff cause of one for all
Explosive payload is best in slot. With a godroll you can get up to 70 handling and reload and you don’t even need them with frenzy. Also, explosive payload combined with frenzy procced equals to about 30% extra damage, which is only 5% less than one for all being active
@@thegregster3808 explosive payload is definitely a good perk specially if it's overload stun on handcanon. But Firefly ofa just gives you more. More damage, more reload and extremely easy to up keep. Ofa is too good of a perk

It is an opinion, but yea firefly and one for all still feels really good with the reload speed and the max damage buff after just one precision kill.

@@beepboop2803I think what he meant is that explosive payload is 10-15% bonus damage (depending if it is body or crit damage) and one for all is 35% and he was putting them together additively instead of multiplicatively. It’s still a roughly 48% damage buff to crits and a 55% buff to body shots with both active tho so he wasn’t too far off

I have firefly/explosive in column and one for all and frenzy in the other column..shiny and amazing roll
I really enjoy Firefly/One for All! Firefly gives all the reload, and also counts as hits towards One for All! Along with that, the FIrefly damage is buffed by One for All! And with how easy One for All is to keep procced, it's pretty much a perma-buff of 35%! Curious to see what you think. :>
Kinetic Tremors will be enhanceable later, depending on how quickly it procs it might be more useful. Feels like the perk is designed for those "one orange bar and some red bar" spawns.
im also very intrigued by this trait. holding onto mine just in case. I think explosive/frenzy is the best combo, unless enhanced tremors can decrease the time it takes to proc.

I've nabbed a firefly rampage roll. Which while good makes me want a firefly/ofa roll even more. Luminous Void shader on this gun is fantastic too.
Important to note the 2x and 3x stacks of desperate measures can be activated and refreshed while stowed via grenade or melee kills. I’ve personally been enjoying a roll I got with firefly and desperate measures. It’s quite good and a very flexible 30% on ability spam builds.

5:45 I got explosive and desperate measures aswell and it feels so good! Got good stability and good range and it performs really well inside master raids and legend onslaught. Personally using it on stasis hunter and it’s really easy to get desperate measures to 3 stacks and it two taps to the body of red bars feels great. I didn’t think it’d replace my fatebringer but it had!
Hey, nice vid, looking forward to my firefly/desp.measures roll! 😊 You mentioned that we are more in a double special meta, kan you make a video about that? 'Cus I loved it at the beginning of Lightfall but since Bungie nerfed it haven't used or seen it anymore.
For pve there is only two rolls I'm looking to get. First is firefly and one-for-all as my general roll because firefly can proc one-for-all then firefly inherits the damage buff. The second is a bit more specialized with shoot to loot with kinetic tremors. Once these rolls can be enhanced kinetic tremors will only need 5 shots to proc.

Desperate measures can get 2 stacks of a non charged melee kill also and also procs while stowed too
I do think shoot to loot and kinetic tremors is still a super good roll, so I do think shoot to loot isn't entirely something to avoid.
Firefly explosions proc one for all easily. I think it’s the play for PvE. Give it a shot it gets to 3 stacks with no effort.
One for all is a 35% damage buff, paired with explosive payload that makes it easier to proc OFA as well, and the innate damage buff from EP, all while also having solid base stats because of it being an original 150rpm its absolutely insane. by far my favorite roll, close second being firefly, one for all.
I literally have the thumbnail roll minus OfA. Sadly got opening shot instead. Still pretty good

I am really enjoying my roll of midnight coupe with explosive payload and frenzy it feels extremely crispy I also have a range masterwork and I didn't lose stability
I really love Zaolis Bane with one for all and explosive, so I really wanna try that out. Maybe also Firefly
Might be worth keeping a kinetic tremors roll. Since Bungie has buffed other weapons with kt maybe they will buff hand cannons kt. We are getting 100 more Vault spaces so you should have some extra room
Firefly and Rampage synergizes pretty well.
EP OfA guy here: I think it's good but you have to land some bonus reload on the mag and ideally the masterwork.
got a shiny firefly OFA roll and firefly procs OFA and it cooks, plenty of reload speed from firefly too
I strongly disagree on Kinetic Tremors. It’s a great anti-champion perk.
The tremors can stun them. When they’re active you have an opening to reload or swap weapons, and provide some grace if you mistime your reload and run out of ammo at an inopportune time.
It’s especially good against overloads, since it allows you to keep constant damage on them preventing them from healing.

Main issue with me for kinetics is the difficulty there is in trying to fit them in half the time. As you pointed out best kinetics are kinetic specials, cause I can make my primary an energy weapon and run around with Solar/Void/Arc subclass synergy AND a high damage special nuke. But kinetic primaries just have such a difficult time feeling useful as nothing 'works with them'. Only time I'm using such is necrotic grip with Thorn/Necrocasm cause there's actual synergy with that, but otherwise it's like 'why use this when I could be increasing the potency of my scorch/spreading jolt/using the volatile rounds I proc off grenade kill/unraveling rounds off melee kill/making a stasis crystal for grenade regen. Why am I also using this when my surge is likely going to also be the same element as my heavy and I might as well use something that benefits off of it? (I know they get the extra 15% to try and compensate but still).
Like, I won't fault someone for using it, quality of life and all that. But it's just so hard to justify if it's not literally doing my taxes and giving me a back rub like Outbreak or Wishender.

At 3:40. If you were using Minor Spec, you'd def be one-shotting to the head w/Frenzy active. I like recoil as much as the next guy, but the dmg might be a bit too much to pass on.
However, if you were in something like a Grandmaster, or a Contest Raid, then in that situation it might not even matter.
100% agreed. I feel like you are throwing in end game content if you’re not using an exotic primary. You get more heavy to drop and it’s 30% damage buff against red bars

I think I will still keep a roll with Kinetic Tremors for GMs. Maybe Shoot to Loot if I can't get EP maybe firefly.

We can enhance all the into the light brave arsenal weapons in final shape? Or ONLY the shiny ones?
Got a god roll but not shiny and was planning to enhance it till someone said i should get the shiny to do so.
All of the Brave weapons, the 2 newly added Trials (Summoner and Prophet), Nightfall (Wildstyle and Slammer), and Iron Banner (Tusk and Multimach) weapons, as well as the Prophecy Dungeon weapons can all be enhance-able in the final shape.
IIRC the limited edition "Shiny" versions of the Brave weapons as well as the double perks for Adept Trials and Nightfall weapons can enhance all of their perks.
The barrels, mag, and MW will not be swappable though.

my shiny dropped with EP / Frenzy and Desperate Measures. I don’t think I’ll get a better roll especially since there are other weapons I’m attuning, so I’m happy with it. I have a different roll on my Fatebringer so it fills a good niche for me.
I got a shiny with outlaw and rampage, it feels amazing imo, or just nostalgia, but I didn't want to run it with firefly one for all as my Zaoulis does pretty much the same
Kinetic tremors on this hand cannon is for ppl who play a lot of gm. Beefy ads & champs. firefly or explosive payload with kinetic tremors is king.
Shoot to Loot // Kinetic Tremors is great in GMs or high end content. Really sad they took it off of this version of Hung Jury but definitely do not sleep on it. Firefly grants a reload buff when activated which maxes out the reload stat, just like frenzy does. There's kind of no point in having both of them together, especially when Firefly will trigger One For All too!
Time payload is the one that could probably work with kinetic tremors because the explosion is delay
I dont think its just the delay. I've tried to proc KT with the explosive splash damage by shooting the ground and could not get it to proc. Not sure if it's a bug or intended but I'm guessing it's only counting the direct damage and not the explosive damage similarly to how Indebted Kindness with Surrounded wasn't buffing the explosion damage (I think this was fixed?).
We even had the recent Tusk of the boar with Deconstruct acting oddly when it first came out, requiring impact hits, though now you can proc it off just the wave (continuously).
So my guess is that a similar thing is happening here where KT counts only the direct damage and not explosive damage. So assuming Timed payload does explosive damage, it still might not count.

You think frenzy>one for all with firefly? Imo frenzy is too redundant since handling is already good and the reload buff is null with firefly active

Firefly / one 4 all is probably a great combo, as the firefly aoe should count towards one 4 all.
I wonder if kinetric tremmors can proc on multiple enemies by the AoE of explosive payload if you shoot nearby enemies
No, Explosive Payload cannot proc OFA, but Firefly can. That's why Firefly + OFA is the best roll for this weapon.
You have Firefly Frenzy on your Fatebringer Timelost. Now that you have it on your Mindnight Coup, are you going to get rid of your Fatebringer?
Adept gives access to Adept mods. But if you are not a master raider then midnight coup gives the option of raid style weapon from a more approachable activity.
Also midnight coup will get enhanced perks as well, so it might be better depending on the benefits of enhanced perks

I wasnt hyped about Midnight Coup. Until I got one. Kept firefly frenzy and explosive one for all so far. Hoping to merge them. (But all my Shiny ones of this are 💩, which hurts)

I hate the stability on the midnight. The screen is way to shaky while fireing. Switching back to fatebringer which is super smooth.

Payload / tremors is not a pass, it rocks in harder content and will proc in 5 shots when enhanced.

The opportunity cost of using your attunement on midnight coup is just too high. There are so many other stronger brave weapons you would want before midnight coup so i don’t think it’s going to be super popular

The issue with kt is the shots required to proc if your shooting 6 whole shots at a target with a primary you should be using a special weapon instead
@@trev7983 This may be so, but the fact that I can deal that kind of damage with an infinite ammo gun that only requires that I hit my target will really help with my special ammo economy.

The only thing bad about it is that bungie literally skipped the chance to make the quest midnight coup the og outlaw rampage roll. They had it perfect with recluse. Guess they really really want u to farm for it instead.
If you nab a firefly rampage roll it's like og with a fast reload...but with explosions!!!
The recluse we get from the quest is so good that I basically didn't farm for it, so happy they gave us that roll.
When playing harder content firefly is useless! I guess if you wanna just run around in regular lost sectors lol

Every major TH-camr has been trashing it (expect fallout). As a counter argument it adds free unlimited special functionality and is still much faster than swapping weapons and shooting your special in most instances, and frees you up for more functionality suited weapons like a blinding GL. It also functions as a pseudorange perk since even with range falloff you'll be able to soften groups from very far away by just shooting the tanky and with modern ad density it's harder than not to NOT kill additional miscellaneous ad

I think the whole concept of a God roll is flawed, different rolls perform well in different circumstances: people should get however many rolls they think are worthwhile in a weapon whether that's 3 or zero. Best damage but I'd argue there are other combos just as good. Desperate Measures only needs 1 rapid kill with a grenade or melee to hit x3 which refreshes on kills with the weapon. Not as much as OFA but unlike OFA you can keep it refreshed.
If you don't mind the reduced damage then Frenzy is also really great to boost that reload and handling to improve the overall feel of the gun.
Point is: Midnight Coup has a lot of really good rolls that I think it's hard to say theres one objectively "best" one.
just to add. explosive payload is nice to pair with shoot to loot but its really not a big deal. you can pair it with kinetic tremors tho. so i wouldnt avoid it just for that reason
there are just better options for shoot to loot. better off just using one of the other perks
