Your fire excitement was simply adorable. :) By now you are probably making fire like a pro, a small axe for making kindling would be a worthy purchase methinks, as well as a small folding shovel for tabletop clearing and other small shovel chores. A bottle propane is a good fire starting tool that has got to be cheaper than those fire-starter packets.

Dude...as soon as I saw the hotel room, I thought "What a bum!" On another note, I am from MI and the UP is known for its lake effect snow. Haven't lived there in 15 years though and I kinda miss it. Also..."PIVOT!!!" *Edit Marquette is expensive. I stayed at the Landmark Inn's suite though. *Edit again. The word is "ripe". *Final note I enjoy your extreme corniness.

I'm a grandma and my place doesn't look like that. My place is amazing and in paradise. Things happen to you, because you don't plan probably and there is frinkin snow everywhere. That poor dog doesn't even have a coat on. The nerve saying that place has a grandma smell when you don't shower daily. I'm a grandma and take offense to that.
