You could take the scrap 2x4's and use them as a brace on the inside of the platform. Run a screw from the top and side. The legs won't be as flimsy. Glad it worked out for ya!
I thought of that. I ended up flipping it around and sleeping on the joint part you drilled together, if that makes sense. It’s working great!

use a cozy flannelette sheet in the sleeping bag will keep you really warm and you just need to was it instead of the sleeping bag all the time.
