    This is the sort of video that I wish I could be making to help keep board building accessible to everyone, but that I no longer have the time, patience, or attention for.
    Visually, with the solid/dotted lines, and the cross hatching, you can really just see how the board is being imagined.
    And with that rasp, it really looks like it just popped right out of there.
    Makes it look so easy and very approachable.

    You should make a mini fingerboard longboard and some fingerboard wheel molds

    How much is it for 7 layers of veneer??

    I was so excited to find a place with literally everything I needed to make boards but the shipping price is way to expensive 80$ for 2 foam molds basically, looks like such a good company to got any other places that have the right foam? Besides Home Depot or Lowe’s

      You could try a lumber yard, they might stock it as a building material

    Where do you buy the foam?

    instead of a dim press, wound you recommend a vac bag? I'm just wanting the easiest and most affordable way to make my own board.

    • @GoodRoads
      @GoodRoads  ปีที่แล้ว

      The two sided foam mold and a DIY press is more work but less expensive, the vac-bag and single sided press is an easier off-the-shelf option but it costs a little more. Both are good!

    Very cool! I should use some of my scrap eps to make some molds for projects.

    • @GoodRoads
      @GoodRoads  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      If you made a mold set you could probably use your snowboard press to press a deck

      @@GoodRoads Would have to be careful not to crush the foam but I don't see why it wouldn't work. If I can get some veneer I'll have to give it a try.

    Have you ever tried steaming the layers before putting them in the press. Then gluing them after everything is dry and repress it.

    • @AnttiBrax
      @AnttiBrax 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Steaming veneers doesn't make much sense as they already bend easily when dry. It doesn't make the wood stretch, which would have been needed.

    • @GoodRoads
      @GoodRoads  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I've done some steam bending for instrument builds and I don't think it would be much of an advantage here. The veneers are pretty flexible on their own. If you want to get tighter curves I'd recommend a mechanical press over a vac-bag. you can make a simple DIY one with 2x4s and threaded rod, I've got a video on how to do that
