My husband had to leave for the same reason. I know if he saw Ms. Seymour in person he break down. This movie wrecked a lot of men too back in the day. Who said they aren’t hopeless romantics 😉
My mother in law was a friend of Christopher Reeves. She met him as a donor and loyal patron of his work done at The Williamstown Theater Festival. He also lived here in Ma over the summer. She introduced me to SiT, and it was a movie we'd watch often. You did an amazing job, Jordan. This was great!
THANK YOU JORDAN. YES, THIS WAS VERY SPECIAL BECAUSE THE HOTEL, GAZEBO ETC WERE STILL THERE. I CRIED FOR THE COUPLE. VERY TOUCHING THAT HIS MOM VISITED THE ISLAND. IF YOU BELIEVE IN TIME TRAVEL, WHICH I DO, MAYBE THE MOM WENT BACK IN TIME AS WELL. NOW, I WILL WATCH THE MOVIE AGAIN. LOVE A GOOD CRY. 🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰
Thanks heaps Jordan. It's such a beautiful film. You see Christopher Reeve young and healthy before the tragic accident that paralysed him. As such it remains a tribute t how he once was.
Jordan, you outdid yourself on this one! This is my favorite movie of all time, and I have been waiting for a video like this! I actually got emotional just watching it. You did so well with the detail and the comparisons of the movie with the hotel. Wow probably my favorite vlog you have done!!!!! ❤
This was a bittersweet video for me. My mom just passed away and this was one was her favorites. We watched it together countless times. Visiting that hotel was on her bucket list. Thank you. Christopher Reeve used to fly in and land his plane on or near the island according to Jane Seymour in an interview.
So glad you were able to come and experience Mackinac Island. It's truly one of our Michigan gems. I absolutely loved the movie "Somewhere In Time", and it was extra special that it was filmed in my home state. I remember sitting in the seat at the hotel where Christopher Reeve sat (back when it didn't cost you to go up there). It's nice to see that the Island has so many acknowledgements of where the movie was filmed. It added to tourism, for sure. My friends and I were in high school when this movie was released. I think we went to see it a couple of times. I remember for the longest time, none of us would carry 1979 pennies in our pockets/change purses. If I see a 1979 penny today, it reminds me of the movie. It was always a little difficult to watch after Christopher had his accident. I haven't seen it in a long time. Thanks for bringing back some great memories!
I saw Somewhere in Time when I was a kid. I was completely devoured by it. I was talking about my love of this film a few weeks ago. I am so glad I am not alone in my love for this film. It should be always be remembered along with Christopher Reeve. ❤
Jordan, my favorite Christopher Reeve movie. I first bought this years ago. You always end up doing the most interesting places and movies. I actually watched this 17 times after getting it. The emotions in the movie and that age old question how far would you go for true love? I'd never seen a man love a woman so much and so hard. I've also never cried so many tears except for years later when I saw the Passion of the Christ. Thank you so much for doing this movie. A bit pricey to spend the night. If I could give this a thumbs up every day for the rest of the year I sure would. Say hello to Katie & Jah!!!!!
I was a teenager when I watched this film on my national TV in Singapore(80s). I finally get to know this Grand Hotel is on an island 🏝 *no internet/Google map back then 😅😂🤣 This film is one of the rare captivating romantic film ever made. The Emotional🤧 soundtrack, Handsome actor😍 & Gorgeous actress🥰, most of all The Beautiful Hotel🌳/beaches🌴🌊 I'm adding this Grand hotel to my bucket list. Thank you Sooooooooo💋 much for bringing back all those memories 👍👏👏I love your Happy Ending 💖❤️💓💗🧡💝
I am from Michigan and have been to this island many times. It's a magical place. A bit of trivia, Christopher Reeve attended Juilliard drama school with Robin Williams.
Either I had heard or thought that he had a strong friendship with Robin. I had heard that after he had died and later after his wife passed away (truly so sad), a very close friend of his helped to raise his youngest son (who is now a strong, handsome man). I. oftened wondered if it was Robin. Blessings to all their family.
Jordan, THANK YOU SO MUCH for making this vlog! I have been a super fan of this film ever since I saw it back in 1981 on VHS. It is ALWAYS a guaranteed tear jerker no matter how many times I see it. It connects with anyone who is, or has been, in true love. It is amazing how some things are still the same at the hotel even after 44 years. It is amazing that those trees are still there, despite storms over the years. That is the only place I would be willing to spend $800 for a room, but it would be worth every penny to connect to an iconic film such as Somewhere in Time! Staying at that hotel is on my "Bucket List" for sure.
It had been on my bucket list since I saw the movie too, and I finally checked it off last month! At the end of October, I spent the weekend at the Grand Hotel for their Somewhere In Time themed weekend. BEST TIME EVER! It was their 33rd annual, and "Young Arthur" was in attendance, as well as others from behind the scenes. I agree with Jordan when he said this is the only place where I'd spend that much money per night. So worth it! I wish I could do it every year.
Such a beautiful movie. One of my favorites. I've seen it numerous times. The music was haunting and memorable. The story was unforgettable. I sure do miss Christopher Reeve and as much as I always enjoyed seeing him play Superman, this one was the best in my opinion. Nobody did it better than Jane Seymour. I've seen her in many things over the years, but nothing like this. It brought back all the emotions I felt seeing the movie. I'm a little choked up to be honest. Thank you all for sharing this. I never knew where it was filmed, so I appreciate the info. I hope to get to visit there someday. Thank you again! 🥰
Somewhere In Time is a classic which I too enjoyed seeing, more than once. Can't imagine anyone other than the 3 main characters playing those parts. All three were favorites of mine & Jane Seymour is still going strong. Thank you Jordan, wonderful blog...
Oh Jordan thank you so much I adore this movie! I think it is so beautiful and perfect I always have. The actors are so perfect in it that I can't imagine anyone else being in it. It's a wonderful way to remember Christopher Reeves.
Jordan, I must have seen this movie when I was in my early teens. I tell you that because both of my children are accidentally named after the main character in this movie, my son and my daughter (Collier and McKenna). My husband and I didn't realize until our kids were older that we had somehow named them from this movie. I loved seeing this filming location. I'm obsessed with this movie now. lol
Gosh as a Michigander , you are in one of my favorite places in Michigan...love Mackinac Island ..you cannot find another place like it .. Eat lots of fudge !! Enjoy the smell of horses and the aroma of fresh fudge being made
Thank you Jordan. I just re-watched the movie ( for free on Tubi ) and was as moved by it again as I was seeing it in the theater upon its release. I was 16 then and will be 60 later this year. The movie means something different to me now than it did back then. Throughout all the years the heart just wants to come home and this is a story about 2 souls who find one another and are finally together in love and outside of time. Quite beautiful. Thank you for your enthusiasm to share your journeys and discoveries Jordan. This post made my day. Best Wishes - John
Almost 30 years ago l stayed at the Grand Hotel on Mackinaw Island for a weekend in October. Not knowing about the movie Somewhere in Time. So when l did see this movie....so many memories came back to me. Absolutely beautiful....the Grand Hotel weekend and this movie. l promised myself that l will go visit Mackinaw again 1 day and really take it all in. And going in the fall would be the best time. l remember the beautiful colors of the leaves during the drive to the ferry. Lots of yellows and orange with added browns. Thank you for showing this. Ahh yes, the long porch and the white rocking chairs...red carpet and the flags. The dining room. And the green and rose color chinaware...which l have a few pieces for my souvenir collection. l just love this......❤
I saw SOMEWHERE IN TIME when it was released. I was a teenager & saw it with my mom. It was one of my favorites. Thank you so much for bringing back lovely memories to this old lady🥰
Jordan. This touched me so deeply. I watch this every June 27th. The story, music, acting was splendid. It's one of my favorites. I am still trying to save up enough to one day attend the Somewhere in Time weekend event in October. The island and hotel are some of my favorite places on earth. Just beautiful. This is truly a gem of a video for me and I'm so appreciative of you making this. One of my favorite movies of all time. Have a lovely evening and welcome to my beautiful home state of Michigan. Blessings - Judith 🎵🎭
@@wanderingheidi Oh, I am so happy you got to go. I'm afraid I will have to wait, though. No job, almost all my savings are gone due to Covid, my car just died and I need surgery. All are just challenges. There are worse things. Getting to go there will be a goal to look forward to. I hope you had a wonderful time. It's a beautiful island. Happy late Thanksgiving! Judith
OMG Jordan, I still have chills. I LOVED that movie, and to be here with you and Katie where it was filmed is awesome. I had forgotten the ending, probably because I cried so hard, so thanks for reminding me. I could say more, but believe it or not, I'm still emotional after watching your vlog. Thank you so much Jordan.
I saw this when it came out! So special Jordan! Best movie location vlog l think l've ever seen you do! I love the hotel with all the red geraniums all the way to the carpets! Just beautiful!❤
That sure is a testament to whatever carpet company did their lobby, to have it last so long ! Wow ! And it's even still cool ! What insight, in a carpet ! So much more attention was paid to details back when they created these places. Beautiful place. Thank you for doing this. 🧡🙏🏻
Oh, how I love this visit to the Grand Hotel. I feel like I’ve really been there. The plot, the scenery, the dialogue- all perfectly suit the location. ❤️❤️❤️
Like somebody else said here: Spectacular! Dude, thank you for making this amazing video. I am only at minute 16 and I am already plotting how to go to Mackinac Island. You passion for cinema and for your craft are contagious.❤
You never disappoint! This has been a very special vlog from start to finish. I'd heard of the movie and now I'm going to search for it and watch it. Thank you for such a special vlog Jordan! I just adore you and Ja, Katie too! 🙏🤟✌️💖🦋
Another great vlog by Daze with Jordan the Lion *featuring the beautiful Katie and the adorable Jah! I do believe in old souls, soulmates either re-occurring in time or going back in time. The Grand Hotel is a place I'd like to visit.
@@FZappaFan1 Of course the Sand Dunes, Empire area, awesome hiking trails. I'm in Traverse City so Mackinac is a bit north of me, but in the UP there are a bunch of awesome places to visit - Great Lakes Shipwreck Museum, the Mystery Spot, Copper Harbor, Pictured Rocks, etc. Sorry for the late response. I hope you had fun!
In my beloved Michigan. I watched this movie when I was a kid in Mexico City and I never thought destiny will bring me to this magnificent state to live as an adult. I visited this beautiful island and is extremely emotional go through where it takes place such beautiful and splendid story of impossible love. Great video Jordan!
This has been absolutely phenomenal! It has brought back so many emotions of my life that are in many ways just like this movie. The music is so much a part of this love story. I remember the first time I saw this movie, I sat and cried for a long time. You have done an incredible job putting this together with visiting the hotel now and inserting the scenes of the movie that correlate to where you are. Thank you for a wonderful experience, I will be watching this again! ⭐️⭐️⭐️
I LOVED Somewhere in Time! I got goosebumps so many times watching this video. I dug out my copy on DVD, and I can hardly wait to watch it again! Thank you again, Jordan and Katie! PS Katie, I think your sunglasses are fabulous!
That movie is my mom’s favorite movie and one of my favorites too. I one day want to get up there and see the filming locations for myself. Mackinac Island just looks so beautiful and like you are stepping back in time. You did a good job with these filming locations, Jordan.
Love this movie. Viewed it at the theatre when it released. In time I purchased it, and watched it again for many years. Owned the soundtrack, dated a guy who looked very much like Christopher Reeve, lucky me!!! I loved this movie very much, and when it streams, I watch it again, and always will. ❤️❤️
Love this video Jordan! My family and I visited the Grand Hotel and Mackinac Island last summer and you can still feel the magic and mystery of the story. We also loved how the island has embraced the film. Thank you for doing the extensive research and the effort matching up all of the shots from the movie!
You're spot-on about the unexplainable feeling there!. 🌌 Magical is how I describe it, too, and I'm one to peruse Roget's Thesaurus for the right words when typing. 😅 MAGIC. A simple word, yet, it encapsulates every minute I was there. When the ferry took us off the island, the feeling was gone. There is something there. I 🙏 I return, someday. Visited in Sept. 1991, and I didn't know about the film, until 1997. My fiancé had it in his movie collection. So, whatever is there, was there before they filmed it. Every artist that made the movie thankfully preserved it, for those that may never get to go. I still speak about it with the man I went with in 1991. ⏳️
Perfect Jordan and Katie!! It felt like I was watching the movie!! Love your movie videos! This one was exceptional!! I love a good love story!! Sad that Christopher Reeves past away so young and why. 🥲 Safe travels!!🥰
Love you kiddo and Jah ! And Katie is a doll ! Thank you so much for taking us along with yall. What a special treat ! Super cool ! Awesome video Jordan !!! Love All-jomama 🧡🙏🏻
Somewhere in Time is my all time favorite movie ❤❤❤❤❤ Going to Mackinac Island is on my bucket list. Thank you Jordan for an Amazing vlog. When Richard looks at the penny and it's the current year just kills me. RIP Christopher Reeve❤
The main theme song was played @ my mothers funeral service. She this movie and everytime I hear it my heart breaks. RIP Christopher Reeves you are missed.
Well, this has me in tears. Somewhere in Time was my dad's favorite movie of all time and I watched it with him all the time and therefore it became one of my top 5 favorite movies. I've always wanted to visit the Grand Hotel and all of the filming locations, but I know I never will, so thank you for taking us with you. Superbly done!
Omg!!! I love this movie. I watched it in the eighties and I still watch it all the time!!!!!!! Thank you so much for this!!!! Your incredible the things you do and find!! Hard work, Im sure!!! ❤
Jordan, thank you so much for doing this video! I cannot get through this movie nor hear this music without tearing up as this was my moms favorite movie. I don't know if I'll ever be able to make it to Mackinac Island myself and that's why I'm very grateful to you to allow me and others to visit these sites through you! Thank you so much Jordan!
This was such a great video! this was also my moms favorite movie and i just watched it for the first time a few months ago and i loved it! That looks like such a beautiful Island. Thank you for taking us there with you and sharing it with us. ❤
I absolutely loved that movie! Years later I found it on DVD and bought it! Same emotional feelings and oh so much sadness! Smooches for JAH! 🌈🙏🏻🙏🏻❤️❤️🇺🇸🇺🇸
Such a beautiful place. Thank you Jordan, Jau, and Katie for taking us along. I'll never get to visit this beautiful place in person. It is such a good movie. 🌺🍀🌺🍀🌺❤️❤️❤️
I just watched this movie yesterday for at the 100th time, one of my all time favorites. Thank you for taking us along with you and Katie. I think you did an amazing job on this video, above and beyond.
OMG Jordan, you out did yourself with this video. I love this movie but I haven't seen it in years. Thank you for bringing me along and making me want to watch it again.
This was fantastic. This brings back so many emotions and memories Such a romantic movie that is timeless. Beautiful property to see. Love that you guys got so stay there. Love that Jah is with you too. Thank you Jordan so very much. ❤
there is something incredibly special about this movie..it has always touched me very deeply...i have come to believe that while we think time is linear i truly don't think it is. thus this is completely possible... thankyou so much this was awesome to start my day with
I am so happy ❤ you did this! What a wonderful video retracing the same places. It's wonderful that it was kept the same for the most part. Love 💗 your sentimentality. Katie is a lucky gal!
I was there around 1969 on a family vacation. When I saw the movie, it was so exciting to see the hotel and island again. Thanks for all the match ups with the movie. A lot of great memories.
Thank you so much for filming the location of my ever favorite movie "Somewhere in Time " . This mean so much to me. I was so inlove with this movie. I missed Christopher Reeve 😢 RIP
I am thrilled you made it to my State and our lovely Island. I've been there many times but stayed at B&B's on the Island on three overnight trips over the years. It is expensive but I loved waking up to enjoy the Island charm. Thank you for including Jah. I am so happy knowing he's been there. I thought I knew a lot about this movie but as always you teach me something new.
Jordan and Katie: thank you for sharing your trip with us. You can tell you guys are having a great time. Your room and the view from your room is beautiful. Like stepping back in time.
This was my favorite movie of all time, and I couldn't figure out why my friends didn't feel the same way. The theme music still makes me cry, just like I did through much of the movie, and I'm not usually emotional. Thanks for doing this.
This was my moms favorite movie! I grew up watching it over and over and learned to love it as an adult also! Great job Jordan showing us all the places!!! Thank you for sharing !! ❤ 😎
This is my favorite movie bar none. I checked the movie out twenty or more times from my local library, so much so that the librarian got concerned because I was a guy, and this was a romance movie. Something in the movie struck me and still does. I authored a poem about the movie, and this movie is where I fell for Jane Seymour. My dream is to someday go to the Grand Hotel before I die. Thank you, Jordan, for a splendid video.
One of my top fav movies of all time. What a wonderful vlog. I always thought the hotel was in Socal. I now want to go Mackinac Island and stay a night at the Grand Hotel. Thank you so much Jordan!
I live an hour southwest of Mackinac & know the Murdick family (Murdicks fudge) very well. So happy you got to enjoy our beautiful area!! p.s. This was my favorite movie back in the 80s 📽️
One of your best Jordan.......congrats on 300K...been with you from the start. I took my daughter and Mom to the Grand Hotel in 2000. My daughter is now 33 Mom is 96 I am retired. Good to see you have Katy & Jah with you to enjoy the experience.
Jordan, This movie gets me right in my heart. What a love story. Such an iconic place Mackenaw Island. The Grand Hotel. Wow! I really would love to visit the Hotel I bought the whole love story. The time thing fascinated me. Jane Seymour is absolutely beautiful and Christopher Reeves was sooo handsome. Great acting. Great wardrobe. Great musical score. I went out and bought the musical score right after I saw the movie. Just fantastic. Thanks Jordan. Fabulous how you match scenes up. Really incredible. Katy is soooo cute Jordan. I like seeing you three together. Ya can't leave Jah out you know❤
My favourite movie of all time. Thanks so much for filming the location, Jordan. Rachmaninoff's compositions are just the perfect accompaniments. I need to go watch the movie again now, it NEVER gets old. Thanks again 🙏
I’m actually emotionally exhausted watching this…so many emotions while you move from scene to scene, absolutely spectacular job Jordan 🫶🏻

You never disappoint! This has been a very special vlog from start to finish. I'd heard of the movie and now I'm going to search for it and watch it. Thank you for such a special vlog Jordan! I just adore you and Ja, Katie too! 🙏🤟✌️💖🦋
I Met Christopher Reeve at Circle Park Shaughnessy Vancouver BC He was filming at
The UBC Womens club Nice Person Happy Times RIP
Another great vlog by Daze with Jordan the Lion *featuring the beautiful Katie and the adorable Jah! I do believe in old souls, soulmates either re-occurring in time or going back in time. The Grand Hotel is a place I'd like to visit.
I saw this movie twice and I want to see it again together with my daughters! Excellent to see everything stays practically the same!
I live in northern Michigan, grew up watching this movie a million times. I am so glad you did this!
We are headed to Mackinac in a few weeks. We stopped at Torch Lake once and it was beautiful. Anything up there you'd recommend not missing?
One of my all-time favorite films! Thanks for doing this Jordan!
I LOVED Somewhere in Time! I got goosebumps so many times watching this video. I dug out my copy on DVD, and I can hardly wait to watch it again!
Thank you again, Jordan and Katie!
PS Katie, I think your sunglasses are fabulous!
Thank you for this awesome content!! Felt like i was there. You truly are a great narrato.
Magical is how I describe it, too, and I'm one to peruse Roget's Thesaurus for the right words when typing. 😅
MAGIC.
Every artist that made the movie
thankfully preserved it, for those that may never get to go.
I still speak about it with the man I went with in 1991. ⏳️
It was because of this movie that we started going to Mackinac Island. What a beautiful place! Thank you for this!
Perfect Jordan and Katie!! It felt like I was watching the movie!! Love your movie videos! This one was exceptional!! I love a good love story!! Sad that Christopher Reeves past away so young and why. 🥲

I love Mackinac Island! I enjoyed exploring it right before covid. It is absolutely a place everyone should visit! Thank you for this!
Thank you for this one, Jordan, Katie and Jah. Probably my all-time favorite movie. Would love to see this magical place one day.
The music played a huge part in making this great film so magical!!
This was my favorite movie of all time, and I couldn't figure out why my friends didn't feel the same way. The theme music still makes me cry, just like I did through much of the movie, and I'm not usually emotional. Thanks for doing this.

Awesome place and movie I love it thanks
An absolute favorite movie!
Congratulations Jordan and Jahster 🎉300K well deserved and thank you for the happiness you’ve provided for me and obviously the world 😂😂😂❤💃😘🌻🇦🇺🙌🙌🙌
