- The call to fight for freedom is being answered, in a major way, by Ukrainian women. They are not conscripted to fight, or to risk their lives on the front lines - they are answering a call that comes from within themselves.
Reported from inside Ukraine by Jason Bellini. Features the 19-year-old "Demon," a mortarwoman seeking revenge for her boyfriend's death, Larysa Borysenko who-- with her dogs-- is leading the search for bodies, and "Unbreakable Rusya," helping war amputees in Ukraine.

In ancient times Ukraine was matriarchal, women historically had a lot of responsibility but were respected members of society. When russia started their subjugation of Ukraine they gradually destroyed the social order established in its lands, giving more and more powers to men. Hopefully restoring its national identity Ukraine will be able to restore women's important role also

I’ve been to Ukraine a couple of times and I hate what russia is doing to these good people
What is most amazing is that so called Eastern Europe and Baltics women and men subscribe to traditional roles, and are much more conservative in values than so called Westerners. Yet in EE & Baltics we have higher number of female CEOs, women are not screaching about patriarchy, families are young and people are divorcing less. EE and Baltic women are fierce (I am excluding ruzian women in ruzkia here, as they are generally are different kind of crazy and not in a good way), since before the early middle ages where rather independent and were supported by our men. The strength of our women was forged from 13-14 milenias ago, as we had to keep our tribes together - for example if our Baltic husband died in a battle, the woman usually remarried after a period of mourning for one month. This way men were raising children of other men for centuries and we never needed washhouses, like in England, for single mothers. And we also faught in battles, the ones who wanted to, and hunted along our men. This is why feminism is a strange concept is somewhat foreign for us since we basically never were opressed

Shame America , you gave promise and like most of the wars you have been involved you pull out ! Britain is doing as much as we can, we train many Ukrainian soldiers, we need to invest in our own troops, we may have not enough service personnel, we have not invested enough, you don’t foresee the future and just how unstable our World has become. We ourselves do not have enough hi tec and even basics , what we lack in equipment and numbers, we are still eliete in training, even American soldiers will say our SAS , SBS, marine corps are World class . Stop holding up the aid you promised, more people have lost their lives and lost territory. You gave Ukraine hope, all that has been spent will be pointless and wasted, stop the politics, Ukraine is fighting for not only freedom of Ukraine to exist in its entirety, but democracy and saving Europe and the world from another World War.
These courageous Women could still be at home with their families, had we all had thrown everything Ukraine had asked and needed , this war could have been won , do not allow Putin to win , as I am sure he won’t stop there. 31000 dead Ukraines have paid the price for all our Freedom don’t let it be for nothing.

These women show what all women of all ethnicities can do when they are called upon by their country.
