    Very well done reporting. One of the most humanizing and stark pieces of journalism I have ever seen.

    • @vanfja
      @vanfja 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I wouldn’t call this stark. It’s typical imbedded journalism, what they want you to see. Give the public just a little bit but still make it look hopeful. Same as in Afghanistan and Iraq.
      The battlefield has become a total horror show with drones coming from nowhere and everywhere. Total revolution in warfare and this report doesn’t show it at all.

      The sad part for me is the EU and the US starting to lose interest and not caring who wins. The best case scenario for the Ukrainians is that they will go back to the Donbass scenario of holding the line indefinitely or until, after a few years, Russia has replaced its losses and has another go. If we'd just been honest and said ' we'll help you not get overrun and after that it's your problem' rather than 'we'll help until you win', they would not have got their hopes so high only to be (apparently) let down. There's a familiar pattern to western led wars in recent decades: we go charging in all guns blazing right up to the point it becomes a difficult protracted conflict and then literally run away, leaving chaos in our wake (Afghanistan, Iraq). It sets a bad example and (imho) encourages players to take action. China has noticed this and so, obviously, has Russia.

I don't know when we stopped using them, but they were used way into the 80's, for sure. For certain kinds of close combat, it is a very capable gun. It is extremely simple and reliable. At 100 m it is quite accurate as well. It is a 9mm parabellum gun, so it doesn't pack the greatest punch, though. With that round loaded and the 36 round magazine no russian would be happy hit at trench distances. Body armour? The round easily penetrate "normal" pistol safe armour. And one just aim for the crouch or the face anyway. Any more reason to pick a m/45? It is silly tolerant to dirt, snow and sand. Obsolescence do not mean useless.

Majority gets ak-74 but it's not that strict in the Ukrainian army so soldiers can buy any weapon they want with their own money. Same with uniforms, armor, and helmets. Same as the GPMG round.
      You can take a round out of a FN FAL Rifle magazine, and put it in the Metal Belt Clip of the GPMG.
      They were still being used in the Falklands War in 1982 in the British Army. The rifle was so Powerful, at high velocity 2,800 ft per second rounds.
      It could go through 10 men at 100 yds. And range out to 1,800 Metres.
      NOW New Body Armor came Out the Stupid Idiots, then bring out a Cheep Plastic S80 Rifle, small 5mm round, low velocity. range of Only 600 Metres. Couldn't go Through Butter.
      Anyone with a FN FAL with a Scope, could range Out and Kill them, from nearly 2 miles away.
      The British sold the Tooling for making the Rifle, to America, an Arms Company still make the FN FAL Rifle with a Rail for a Sniper Scope, and a folding stock.
      It was called The Battle Rifle of the Free World - Used in 90 Country's.
      In comparison, the AK47 only has a case length of 31 mm.
      Less speed and range. Not as accurate.

      What *exactly* makes you think that you, sitting behind the safety of your keyboard have *any* moral authority to demand someone _else_ be forced to fight, kill, bleed, & die for _your_ politics?
      Your statement is sickeningly bloodthirsty. You are not entitled to decide what someone else does with their life. If no one's showing up for your foolish war, _that's a direct referrendum on how popular your war is, isn't it?_
      You are playing politics with these people's lives, that much is painfully obvious. It's not that you love Ukrainians , it's that you hate Russians, & you use the Ukrainiane as a stick to beat Russia with - until Russia took the stick away from you, broke it, & shoved it up your nazi pizda.

    Is there anyway to use styrofoam to insulate the drone batteries like they use for refrigeration.Take a small block of styrofoam and insert the battery inside of the styrofoam and see what happens. You may have insulate the whole electrical system but it’s worth a try.

    • @WarAuthority
      @WarAuthority 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      That styrofoam isn't going to do anything at negative 20 celsius.. and a warm battery will lose use even quicker.
      I do know a few things they could do to keep their drones up, but I don't want either side knowing the solution (and this trick would work for a 20 minute battery without adding too much extra weight). Then again the wind chill factor once you get a drone up.. that's a whole other story.
