    Thank you for such clear explained advice! I do not know yet if it will work for me, but everything you said made so much sense. I am looking forward to implementing these specific stretches into my routine.
    I am very flexible, so I have been suspecting it is a strength issue as well. I am going to check out the strength video you referenced.

    I’ve been doing kickboxing for six months now and no one understood why I could never kick higher like everyone was doing. You literally made every sense in this video, and I do get so much pain in my knees when I run so it all adds up

    1. High Kick Stretches
    2. Toe Touch Elevated Step for Each Leg
    3. Belt/Rope Assisted Lying Upward Leg Stretch

    I started in The Dragon Brigade Taekwondo, and last time I did basic self defense was when I was 8, now I'm 31. I am very fit and athletic but I tell you these stretches are SERIOUSLY HELPING. I will do these stretches every other day and right before I go to my classes, thank you for posting this video and your demonstration. (Bows) Take care of yourself !

    I found out that my sciatic nerve might ne too short too. I guess this is a highly overseen problem for a lot of ppl. I wasnt able to hit my hammies by stretching the "toer touch", but by makins splits

    3:20 the sciatica could be stuck as well, I stretched for one month and nothing improved until I addressed that

    It’s so annoying I can’t kick high I’m pretty flexible I’m my hamstrings and hips but if I was to kick i would feel it everywhere it would look awful not high at all it’s really frustrating I train every day

      Probably a strength issue if your flexibility is decent. I did another video recently on lead leg kicking that should offer you some assistance.

    I am like 5 foot with small legs will I ever be able to kick high😂 i feel ashamed in class but ive only been 5 times so maybe i will get better x

    My question is ? If your a 43 year old male, can I stretch to kick high or is it genetic!

    the problem as you describ it im trying working on my hamstring but there is no improvement not even a little
