  • Instead of a 2D pendulum, this escapement uses a string pendulum that wraps and unwraps around posts to slow down the fall of the weight. Not the most accurate or consistent escapement, but it is definitely the most fun to watch!
    The STL File: jbvcreative.com/products/the-...
Prints on all standard 3d printers without supports, requires the following additional parts to assemble:
    - 9 M4x12| 8 M4 Nuts Screws (I used amzn.to/3Cf7dpp)
    - 2 M4x35 Screws (Like these amzn.to/3TUZIKN)
    - 2 M4 150mm Threaded Rods (I used this amzn.to/3DCGcwR)
    - 6 M4 Washers (These are the ones amzn.to/3Sh129Z)
    - 3 624Z 13mm OD/4mm ID Bearings (These work great amzn.to/3rdtj58)
    - 1mm Nylon String or Fishing Line (I used string from this set amzn.to/3dOHT00)
    Recommended print settings:
    Layer Height: 0.2mm
    Nozzle: 0.4mm
    Infill: 15-18%
    Total Print Time: ~27.5 hours
    Total Filament Required: ~240g
    Minimum Build Plate Required: 205x205mm

This is really cool! I've never seen one before! I think I'm going to try and make one. I guess I ought to get a 3D printer first! :)
