4:3 doesn't make it easier to hit opponents, it's a placebo for the most part, obviously, placebo makes you play better so it's not like it's a disadvantage, and it does have it's advantages for those who do actually prefer it but in reality, the target is not larger on your mousemat, they just look larger, it makes it easier to see enemies more than shoot them.

It’s awesome seeing a legend like GTR speaking so highly and showing so much respect to ropz. So many of the old heads in any esport or traditional sport are just relentless haters on the new young superstars, especially when they do things differently.
4:3 stretched sure has an advantage when you are shooting still targets but when the enemy is running they also move faster on your screen. Probably should have mentioned this in the video when comparing pros and cons.
Stretched has been a thing since cs 1.3, the general reason was the wider player models. Fps became a reason after lcd monitors got introduced in early 2000s
The reason stretched res seems to improve your aim is because it alters your X by Y sensitivity. It makes the mouse move faster in the X axis than the Y axis. Since we move the mouse right to left more easily than up and down (because of how our arms/wrists work), we are more likely to make over/under corrections when moving the mouse on the Y axis. Using a stretched res effectively lowers your sensitivity on the Y axis, and since we know lowering your sensitivity allows you to make more precise corrections, it stands to reason that this would improve your aim in a game like CS:GO where there are not a lot of vertical elements (another reason people dislike Nuke). This is not true of other shooters like quake, unreal, TF2, Overwatch etc, because those shooters require more vertical mouse movement.
Stretched does not alter your sens at all. It just makes it feel altered. You're still moving your mouse the same distance as in native res. You just misunderstand.
I exclusively use 21:9 and I will never go back. Stretched models=faster model movement which makes them as hard to hit as beforehand. I get accused of hacking constantly by the 4:3 noobs, like it's not my fault you're still gaming like its 2008

Thank you for saying that at the end of the day those are your settings and you do whatever you want with them. It always lowkey annoys me when people obsess about pros' settings; they get their chrossahirs, their sensitivities, their resolutions, graphical settings... why? It's cool if you want to experiment and see what works best for you (and some people can never find the right crosshair too) but ultimately you should be setting everything yourself. You choose the sensitivity that works best for you (plus mouse weight makes a difference so just blindly copying is dumb), you get your graphics the way you can get most fps for most visibility and readability, and the resolution that suits you. I've always been rocking full hd just because of the field of view, I am obsessed with seeing as much as it's possible because in a game so heavily focused on information it's good to see the most you can. Sure, stretched makes the targets fatter and honestly it makes holding tight angles with an AWP a lot easier and that's about the only good thing I see about it; in the cons section you have sensitivity that will feel off as you'll move faster vertically and slower horizontally, less FOV and CS has relatively low FOV anyway, and I find it hard to see people that have the very tips of their heads exposed like standing in CT on dust2 shooting at short A entrance - it's almost as if you see 1 pixel of their heads on stretched and 3 pixels on full hd. So yeah, 3 cons for 1 pro is not enough to justify 4:3 for me. On 16:9 I have the exact opposite, 3 pros to 1 con, FOV is the biggest seller; I have seen too many people lose a round or just die because someone with 16:9 crept up on their 4:3 ass and they didnlt get a chance to react. tl;dr set your own settings instead of copying others, play what suits you and not what other people think is best.
It makes sense that someone is having success with a more standard resolution. If you think about it, stretched, mechanically, is the equivalent of having a lower horizontal sensitivity, instead it seems more natural to us because of warped perspective. A shot doesn't get easier, necessarily. I'd even go as far as to say a good reason a lot of these players do it is well, they're used to it.
I play 21:9 and there have been hundreds of time where I've saved a team mate from death. We clutched on mirage the other day bc I could see a ct rotating t spawn to mid while my team mate was holding it... Won us the game!!!

in 16:9 the models move slower so it can actually be easier to hit sometimes and you also get a better overview. however it is worse when shooting at long distances

What GeT_RiGhT is saying at 10:45 is so right. But this ropz is really a god cant wait to see preform on lan again.
get right is retiring f in the chat
I use 16:9 because i dont want to play with streched tunnel vision. CS 1.6 widescreen ruins the viewmodel so i have to use blackbars. Now the CSS and CSGO supports proper widescreen i can properly experience native resolution
Find out kjaerbye's resolution. That's some interesting stuff.
man plays africa res
You know you're good if CSGO's First God applauds you.
I'm out here with a 1:1 1080. Even more cursed then 16:9
a decent res ive been testing since basalt is (16:10) 1660x1080 a middle ground between 1440x1080; 1920x1080 works decently
13:49 Imagine taking HLTV seriously lmao
Aguante HLTV gato
HLTV forums still better than Redditors tbh
@@draugen6307 they're both shit
@@draugen6307 i prefer r/globaloffensive rather than hltv forums because hltv forums are literally useless
@@lirox679 It is useless, that's true, and the threads are just cancer, but it's entertaining asf.
the thing is that ropz sit almost into the screen, even closer than xantares. and when u play 1280 x 960 is harder to sit that close as ropz. thats why native. but also it depends on what people prefer
B1t sits as close as Ropz
ropz didn't turn on his mic for the interview
Shroud (prob the first pro) played in 16:9 (1080p) also back in his days in C9. Now most Astralis players use 16:9 and 16:10.
Swag too
Even s1mple played some lan tournaments in 16:9. Tbh idk why ppl still playing 4:3... i mean its almost 2021. Also 16:9 gives you better field of view
twistzz uses 16:9 too fyi
It's not the NA res without reason.
n0thing and shroud used to play on 16:9. Not necessarily on the level of Ropz skill wise, but there is no denying there impact, legacy and achievements
YEKINDAR: Am I a joke to you?
I started playing CS:GO using FULL HD as I didn't care about that much. Then after a while I switched to 1024:768 after I tried all aspect ratios. This one feels good for me. For some reason with this and 1200 edpi feels like the model moves in sinq with my mouse movements. I could change for fun.
Early but no notifications gang
Same xd just clicked to see who im subbed to and saw this haha
Actually cs was created for 16:10 and 4:3 if you go ingame settings 16:9 is named "large" while 4:3 and 16:10 is "normal"
We just gonna forget about Shroud’s prime??? He also used 16:9
If a man's gonna make worldwide clips, might as well do it in HD
Everybody knows Shroud is the native god
Shroud is nothing compared to ropz
15:28 Imagine ropz so good because he play with this background music during clutches lel
