I love how some indies are challenging some giant franchises, like Celeste and Journey, disputing and having their themes played amongst all those AAA games... and there's a game about a cat.
The transition between each track were mind-blowing, but it's exactly the reason why I heavily dislike 2022 version. Every game sound the same, it's almost bland compared to 2017/2018/2021 where the medley is truly a tribute to the original games, really smart arrangements. It's way too smooth all along, there some flute played for Xenoblades3 and also some iconic instruments for Stray, but every other game were poorly adapted : Horizon and GOW for example were much better adapted in 2017/2018's GOTY OST. A Plague Tale had a terrible adaptation imo, there were so much room to do better. Elden Ring adaptation was also extremely underwhelming compared to what the real soundtrack procured...

@@KBABZ Well, you know, it's still remembered as the "first one", without this medley we wouldn't have the other ones, it's still catchy, soooo I kinda understand why ! What I love about the orchestra is every time there on the big stage they always have smiles across there faces. Video game music is always so inspirational, uplifting, fun, and creative. If a game can't teleport you to its world with its music then I don't want it.
The transitions in 2019 are freaking amazing. Their rendition of the Ultimate theme is godlike. And that Control song has been replayed by me so many times.
I remember when the Animal Crossing theme part started, back in 2020, I started crying. It was so full of hope and fun and, kind of funny, since it came right after Hades. So good!
VGA 2012 is still the best, transition between song is smooth and make sense, the building up to the climax (AC3) is good, all songs stitched togather like they are one song....
I'm kinda glad that the 2020 GOTY orchestra was the London Orchestra, even though we had to deal with that bs pandemic that took everything away from us that year. All those games felt like they needed a bombastic orchestra because they were so diverse in their styles, but when the GAME AWARDS orchestra is playing, there's some ❤️ and soul put into that.

it's the best lineup while peak ps exclusive back then. 2020 even covid sucks but game rocks af.
TLOU2 🤣🤣🤣
Yeah fantastic year for games and game music
Fax
Yes! You included the earlier ones too. 2012 and 17 are my favorites
Yeah! I didn't include the 2017 one last time because it contrasted too much with the later ones, but with the inclusion of 2012 it flowed a lot better overall.
@@KBABZ 2012 and 2017 are kinda the "beta" ones I think. First time I heard the 2012 one, God, it's beautiful ! I never was a fan of the 2017 one tho, it wasn't really a medley (but the transition between Persona and PUBG is great) and the orchestra was too busy recreating the same vibes the song had in their original games, which is... A bit boring ?
@@luidi9026 Yeah, it's exactly why I didn't include them last year, but I got SO MANY requests to include 2017...
@@KBABZ Well, you know, it's still remembered as the "first one", without this medley we wouldn't have the other ones, it's still catchy, soooo I kinda understand why !
Again, it's not bad, only different. The only thing that I REALLY don't like is the Super Mario Odyssey part... Way too long and... It's freaking playback xD In 2019 we had great singing performances for Sankarin Tango and Saudade, it's a shame.
The rendition of ACIII’s theme just gives me goose bumps every single time
Imagine having Hanz Zimmer and Lorne Balfe on the same stage! TGA going heights!
I was wondering if I had imagined hans Zimmer as no one else mentioned him!
@@WillowAsh.Ch. me too
Just stumble onto this video, I was like "Hey... isn't that hanz? Also, the drums player tours with him, I remember him from seeing hanz's live show
No me canso de ver la compilacion, espero subas una actualizacion cuando salga el 2023
Yo creo q escuchar a la orquesta este anho sera brutal! Solo falta 1 sem ❤
Animal Crossing is a rainbow after a storm. I played that during the pandemic and it help me a lot. Hearing it after all the edgy/depressing songs is just simply a breath of fresh air.
God I could listen to that rendition of The Way You Compute Tonight over and over
Yes dude, I teared up and I didn’t even recognize the song from stray. The soundtrack was forgettable in my opinion but putting it in a full orchestra, it’s GOOD.
I've never played xenoblade but that theme was beautiful
Xenoblade is amazing. Even if you're not into JRPGs, the music is always amazing
GOTY goes so hard no matter what
That transition from the Hades soundtrack going into Animal Crossing had no business going so hard as much as it did
This is the playlist that I want. Thanks man for combining them all for us.
You're welcome! Look for it again next year when I add 2023 to the end!
2018 was such a stacked year. We had Red Dead Redemption 2, God of War, Marvel's Spiderman, AC Odyssey, Celeste, and Monster-Hunter World. I think that in any year, RDR2, Spiderman, or GOW could definitely take the win
bar 2017 and 2022 I think. there were other top top games that year. but yeah
The best part from the Game Awards every year, amazing compilation!
Definitely
Seriously man, this compilation is gold
Odyssey will be my first forever. The whole album was great.
What I love about the orchestra is every time there on the big stage they always have smiles across there faces. Video game music is always so inspirational, uplifting, fun, and creative. If a game can't teleport you to its world with its music then I don't want it.
2020 is insane. The transition from FF7 to Doom Eternal is amazing, then from Ghost to TLOU2, incredible!
Coming back to watch this before the 2023 awards!
Can't wait to edit in the 2023 orchestra! I'll be Unlisting this one so that nobody confuses this one with the 2023 compilation.
Well, it's that time of the year again, i'm going to miss this one
All this stuff will be in the 2023 one, don't worry!
@@KBABZ
Thank you for doing this for us. It means a lot to me.
@@amaurykitadokoro7197 You're welcome! The 2023 one is now live! th-cam.com/video/_27VY-S1R-k/w-d-xo.html
2023 orchestra gonna go crazy!
The transitions in 2019 are freaking amazing. Their rendition of the Ultimate theme is godlike. And that Control song has been replayed by me so many times.
you’re the real mvp! always appreciated that you do these videos
I remember when the Animal Crossing theme part started, back in 2020, I started crying. It was so full of hope and fun and, kind of funny, since it came right after Hades. So good!
VGA 2012 is still the best, transition between song is smooth and make sense, the building up to the climax (AC3) is good, all songs stitched togather like they are one song....
this makes the atmosphere right on stage and in the stream box chat much better! Love it
First time I've seen these medleys and I've gotta say that I'm really impressed! Such a great addition to the show!
I knew I could count on this guy to know what track from Stray they remixed for this year's medley (and cite it in the in-video timestamps for convenient reference, at that). Thanks! :D
I actually had no idea, I only knew Forbidden West and Ragnarok! AOB Reflects was able to find the name of the Stray track : )
The Stray theme is The way you compute tonight and I love it💗💗💗💗
@@KBABZ The way you compute tonight is the name and it was beautiful to listen this time💗💗💗
i went for the last one , you can't deny the combination
After 7 Game of the Year Orchestas, 2017 still been my personal favorite, magnificent theme after magnificent theme (Except for you PUGY, i will hate your nomination all my life).
BTW, 4:27 Flute guy (Pedro Eustache - @EustachePedro) Rocks since 2017 (or before)
PUBG deserved the nomination, not the Award, but the nomination? Yes
@@kendellcifuentesjoestar3119
No it didn't lol
@@kendellcifuentesjoestar3119 No it didn't. Nier and RE7 were better and deserved the nomination more. Well tbh, if Wolfenstein had taken PUBG's place that year I would've been less mad.
@@kendellcifuentesjoestar3119 PUBG definitely didn't deserve to be nominated. I don't even think Horizon should've been when Nier Automata, Hollow Knight, Sonic Mania, Wolfenstein 2, Nioh, Xenoblade 2, and Yakuza 0 came out the same year
@@divinelycursed768 Well the Game was the Boom and the start of a era, the BR era, was insane how much people start playing BR and how popular that category grown thanks to that game. Was the most selled/played game of the 2017, so yes, it has to be nominated. Nier was nominated too i think.
Today maybe the BR can be Hated, But it is imposible to say that BR it's dead.
Thank you for this clip. And great for 2021 the music and video is synced already
2018 still my favorite.. the transitions are just sooo seamless.. especially from GoW to MHW.
That Ghost of Tsushima theme hits every time I listen to it.
Not gonna lie, this years run up was something else compared to previous years. Like if there is a scale of a 100 they stepped it up to a 120
Man that finale was so well put together
As Stray fan it was emotional to me listen The way you compute tonight at today's show💗💗💗 But 2018 was the best‼️
Hey!! what was the song for Stray?
@@ArribaElMole It's now in the timecode! It's The Way You Compute Tonight.
yes finally a stray comment! I was in pain trying to figure out the song because it was painfully familiar. Well chosen for the orchestra
@@La.Nintist I get so emotional when I heard this version!!!💗💗
@@ArribaElMole th-cam.com/video/yrduQjSj8qo/w-d-xo.html The way you compute tonight! I just love the orchestra played this song in their own version💗💗💗 and the transition from requiem to elden was fenomenal‼️
I got goosebumps hearing that Mass Effect 3 song again. Felt like we we're leaving earth to get help all over again.
FF7 Remake straight to Doom Eternal from the 2020 orchestra at 15:37 will always be my favorite moment from these beautiful performances.
The transition from God of war to Monster Hunter World made me cry tears of joy
That was beautiful
The rest of it is beautiful!
This made me cry. I remember watching the 2012 VGAs with my dad and us being so hyped when TWD won goty. He passed away 2 years later. This just made me miss him. But also made me reminisce on a good memory.
the transition from elden ring to god of war is so smooth that they can be considered two similar track from a soundtrack.
