@@nathancruz9172 Well, now you do, maybe you can do a commentary on this particular special in memory of her I really would like to see and hear that you know
One Star In The Night is the most beautiful song ever… it always brings me to tears however… I love the sweet animals, that Aaron finds love again, and his little lamb friend Baba is saved. A beautiful Christmas Story. (but I cry every time I watch it - have been for 54 years)
One of my favorites! The scene where Aaron carries the lifeless body of Baba and approaches the infant King knowing he has nothing to offer but his praise makes me cry every time. Merry Christmas to all! Jesus Loves You!
"@davidnormand4786" There are other Rankin Bass such "Religious holiday" animated features. This one somehow did not become as well known as others and it seems to be a case of "Better to deserve fame and not get it than the other way around." (I am not religious but this is a uniquely done and poignant children's animated special). However this was made or originally-presented in 1968. There is an interesting history to the Rankin Bass famous animated TV broadcasts. Certain animated films were made in earlier 1960s and there was a Japanese animation company that created the puppets or figures for the "Slow motion" type of animation. Or that is my understanding. Some of the puppets ever created have never been found after they were used and filmed. It would be interesting to find out what happened to the puppets used in "The Little Drummer Boy." th-cam.com/video/5eaa1qIbk3I/w-d-xo.html
It’s the most wonderful time of the year, and the greatest wonders are family, charity, and love. May you have all of them in abundance. Wishing you and families A Merry Christmas 🎄
I remember watching this on television growing up and we received only one Channel in northern Minnesota. I was four when it first played and I never missed a year. It is a shame they don't show it anymore. What are they afraid of? It was my favorite!
godblessamerica7048: It's called 'cancel culture'. This show was taken out of circulation on the regular television years ago due to stereotype of middle eastern people.
Or it could be that Rankin Bass went out of business many years ago and to determine who owns the rights of this is difficult. Not everything is cancel culture and wokeism people. Those live free of rent in your hearts and minds. For example I'm an Atheist and like it just fine, the animation is charming.
One of my favorite Christmas movies . I can remember when I was a little girl, being out with my mom telling her to please get me home on time to watch this. The old ones had lessons and meanings ❤
That's nice. And yes, you're right-the old shows had lessons the viewers can learn. I cannot say the same for modern tv shows. So that's why I try to obtain my favourite ones and show them to the young ones of today.
One of the best entertainment productions to come out of the '60s - in my humble opinion - and at least for a Christian. And Greer Garson was herself a Christian.
My little brother, Aaron, was born in November the year this premiered. We’re all grands now, and it remains a family favorite and tradition EVERY Christmas, without fail! Thank you SO much for posting this.
If you have a television that has Motion Smoothing settings, such as MotionFlow on Sony TVs, you can turn it on while watching a Rankin Bass film (or any film) and it can get close to the 60fps. It's not perfect, but it does achieve the general effect.
When I was a kid, watching Ben Hadad meet the three wise men, I legit always thought he would say "three whole kings!" 😂 As opposed to, say, half a king or three quarters of one
That they just lost the crowd all because a boy called well actually, if you look at the crowd, one of those people is one of the two bandits that actually murdered his mother and father. The father was killed instantly, but man I can’t imagine what happened to the mother in the end. Not that I want to think about it 12:05😢😢😢
😂😂😂 “Run for it”…exactly what they would have said back in the day…😂😂😂 and the crowd grimaces wildly and doesn’t even chase! I absolutely love this little gem, nonetheless. ❤️
That's a bad idea. Disney had acquired Saban and all of their content some years ago and they shelved all of Saban's English-dubbed classic anime without even releasing any for purchase. If they managed to get Rankin-Bass, expect all the content to be shelved and hidden, and also expect any uploads of Rankin-Bass shows to get taken down by Disney.
Thank you for posting the whole little drummer 🥁 boy 👦🏻 movie with original audio and 1080p HD.
Did you know that the voice of the mother in this film for Aaron is actually June forey
@@jamessparkman6604 no, I didn’t know that.

@@jamessparkman6604 me too. But, I did remember watching it on amc channel 5 years ago.

I'm getting my 3 year old to watch this in 2023. It was played on TV every year when I was growing up in Australia in the late 80s and 90s.
I haven't seen this movie in forever & it was finally on tv this morning at 4am!!! I was watching it with my 3 month old baby ❤️ he loved it!
Amen 🙏🏻
😊 smart Momma ! ❤ fortunate Baby ...
I can't remember a Christmas through my childhood that we didn't watch this wonderful movie. So precious.

The most important of the Rankin Bass Christmas specials. And it's being forgotten. Show it to your kids.

It was on at 4am this morning where i live!!! i was so happy!
Politically in-correct , I guess ... ( my world view has no 'party' adherence ) loyal to The CREATOR 🌍 , not any hu-man man•ifestation .

The only gift we have to offer Christ is our love and commitment to Him❤️

Beautiful and Timeless...thank you
His gift to the christ child, was his song, from his heart. That was enough. Love ❤️ each other.
Still, my favorite.

LOVE IT! It's a masterpiece!
Wow. Somehow you did better at remastering this than Classic Media could imo. I say that with what happened with the 50th anniversary version.

24:58 is the Rankin/Bass logo which was silent, but no NBC jingle at all.

Is it?
Yes
?
Not the first special with a death, mind you: Cricket on the Hearth had the first couple of deaths. But they were offscreen.

Melchior
how did the ox and lamb keep time?
Them "keeping time" I think is meant to symbolise their presence in The Nativity, being a witness to the scene as the Drummer Boy plays his drum.
