Thank you for this video. I am taking BP medication so I am testing 3 times a day . I was using a digital one that only lasted three weeks. Chinese of course. I'm not going that route again because I really don't trust the readings anyway. I saw the manual kit is only $17 at Walgreens and feel it will last and be more accurate but I had no idea how to use one. Now I do and I'll be buying one tomorrow. Thanks again!
Very nice channel Sandra. I ran into your channel while I was looking for compression socks for my brother who was in a car accident years ago. He has trouble with circulation in his legs. You're so sweet.Hugs to you!
Awe I’m so happy you found my channel! I hope your brother benefits from compression socks. They are a great therapy to try to improve circulation. Thank you for your nice comment! ❤️
A very comprehensive video! You did a great job! We will recommend your video to our clients to watch 😊 Ok? By the way, thanks for choosing our cuff. We are very pleased ❤
Is the manual way of doing it more accurate than those digital machines? I notice when I do it with the digital machine the readings are all over the place.
Hi Sandra, thank you for this helpful video. I have a skills assessment test on vital signs coming up soon and I don't have anyone to practice on. Any helpful tips I could use would be much appreciated. Thank you again.
Ahh try to practice on yourself in a mirror. Talk to yourself as though you are talking to a patient. Really just get comfortable hearing those systolic/diastolic beats. Once you have perfected it on yourself it will be easier to take a manual BP on another person since you will know exactly what to listen for. Hope this helps! Best wishes on your skills assessment! 💕
As an older guy my hearing might be only 80 to 90% of normal. Do you think I have a shot at hearing that wooosh sound that you described so well? BTW your video is the best I have seen out of the 4 I have looked at. Great job!
Awe thank you so much! I study a lot before making any educational video so that means a lot to get that feedback. I think with a good stethoscope you should have no problem hearing the whoosh. Mine is the Littmann cardiology and sounds are very clear. With a cheaper stethoscope it may be harder to hear.
Why didn't you explain how to do this if you don't know your normal blood pressure. Really disheartening for people just trying to find put if they have health problems
Beware of videos like this. She didn't even get the artery marker of the cuff over the brachial artery which can mean you can be put on meds if the nurse gets a high reading and your readings at home are normal.
Hi sandra from Nicaragua,i got a question to make you. When i take my blood pressure manually,i hear a light whoosh ,then i hear a solid strong whoosh, which one is my blood pressure reading?
Great instructional video. Thank you very much

Will still have accurate readings if you do it on your own?

Tho it’s actually for health care training
For anybody wondering - the standard practice where I'm from in the UK would be to pump up to 160 :) hope this helps
She did say it she said to just pump it to 160 if you dont know
