your welcome, I'm happy I could read this. due to the fact I'm new to CNA. I just started learning about blood pressure that's how I got to watch your video, to get a better understanding. so I am here thanking you to for your video. @@theluckienurse
I have finally understood how to take a blood pressure. You gave us a chance to learn how to do the readings as well. You explained it so well.. All thanks to you🎉
Your patient shows a reading of a young healthy adult . Not many in today's World are able to maintain their BP without taking a pill in the morning.🙏🏼🙏🏼
This was perfect! I had my first skills lab this week and we briefly went over manual BP. You provided so much more information. I hope to see more skills videos!
Thank you Dr-boligo, you're a great doctor that everyone admire. You're a trust worthy doctor and your medicine did magic on me, henceforth, you're my personal doctor
Taking the blood pressure manually requires listening to the patient’s heartbeat. So you need to first find the patients pulse before getting your reading
Love the detailed explanations, I'm in nursing school and I was told not to attempt taking the pressure on the same arm unless you wait for five minutes before you try again. What do you think about that?
I think that is a general rule of thumb. If I get an abnormal reading, I will deflate the cuff, keep it on the patient and try again a few minutes later after they’re calm.
I got this cuff off of Amazon, and it is TERRIBLE! lol Amazon does have good manual cuffs though. I would look at the reviews and see what has the best reviews!
This is the very first video that I have seen that explained manual checking of blood pressure to my understanding. God bless you abundantly for this video. I really appreciate. Thank you
Thanks for watching and subscribing! I found out after making the video that manual blood pressures should always come out in even numbers, but automatic cuffs can come out in odd numbers because it’s more accurate/precise. So even though this is a video on taking manual, the software that I used on the computer was automatic. But either way, the actual technique of the video is the most important thing. Good job and good luck! 😊
Thank you for watching, and I apologize for any confusion! Typically when you’re taking a blood pressure manually, the systolic and diastolic blood pressure numbers will be even. An automatic cuff is more precise, and can produce odd numbers. Even though I was using the manual cuff in my demonstration, when practicing the BP reading later in the video, the software that I used was with an electronic blood pressure cuff. If you are one or two off from the number in the video, that is okay! The most important thing about the video, is the technique!
Hey, it is! When I made the video I didn’t know that manual BP readings are only in intervals of 2, while automatic cuffs can be more precise and give you an odd number. So although my demonstration is for a manual reading, the software that I used gave me an odd number. But if your reading is only a number or two off from what is in the video, that is okay! The main purpose of the video really is the technique of taking a BP manually 😊
I’m happy for this video but I wish there were harder videos that tell us how to distinguish bp sounds from the false ones such as movement etc. every time I take bp I hear other noises and don’t understand how to distinguish the difference.
Hey! Thank you for watching! To be honestly, I’m not sure if that’s something that can be taught in a video. It may be something that you just recognize over time. The more that you do something in nursing, the more that you come to just know what is normal vs. what is abnormal. When auscultating the lungs, cardiac, and abdominal areas, I would also have difficulty if my patient was moving because the stethoscope picked up movement. The more that I did it, the more I was able to pick out the sounds of the body vs background noise.
Thank you for watching! So I found this out after people commented after I posted the video - with a manual blood pressure cuff, you should only get even numbers. With an automatic machine, you can get odd numbers because it’s more accurate / precise. The main thing is to make sure that you have the technique of how to take a manual blood pressure cuff down. I think 122/82 is good/accurate!

How does palpating the brachial artery before figure out their systolic?

@@theluckienurse I have a question for you
I got the reading as 122/82
120/74 BP.
I need help bad I start externship Monday and I am struggling reading the numbers
Hey! Do you know if your externship will have an electronic/automatic BP cuff?
❤Thank you
Thank you for watching!
thank you but what is the recommended blood pressure to be?
Hey! So under 120/80 is recommended. Now 120/80 is actually considered to be “pre-hypertensive”
good video
Thank you!
Great video
Very Pratical
Thank you for watching!
How do you know when to stop pumping?
Hey so typically you go about 20mmHg above the patients normal systolic BP if you know their baseline!
Thanks you so much
Add me more examples
Thank you for watching!
I like have my blood pressure taken
Very helpful ,you have got a new subscriber❤
However i got a reading of 121/81 mm hg haha

It is better report near 5 that is 120/80.
Nice one ma
that is very intersting the cup clearing have an increment of 2 mmHg and yet you somehow got reading of 121/79 lol.

Thought they said the manual is calibrated in 2s..so no odd number readings

I want to know how to. Read heart rate and o2sat.. Of a new born bb
Hey! That’s more specialized than for an adult. Especially if you’re not using machines.
I’d refer to your professor or text books about that!
🎉🎉🎉
122 and 82
Its 124/82
126/60
I got 122/82. We were told not to include odd numbers. We should count in twos
Thank you for watching! So I found this out after people commented after I posted the video - with a manual blood pressure cuff, you should only get even numbers. With an automatic machine, you can get odd numbers because it’s more accurate / precise.
