  • Touring the Evesham Loop Motorbike Tour, 105 miles around the beautiful villages in the Cotswolds, thatched roofs, yellow honey-coloured stone brick & rose gardens.
Typifying traditional English gardens bristling with awe & beauty.
This Loop is taken from 'Bikers Britain' 2nd edition by Simon Weir.
Riding through Chipping Campden, originally established in the 7th century, deriving its name from Saxon 'Campa-denu' or 'Campadene' meaning a valley with fields or enclosures of cultivated land.
Broadway, a large village heralded as the heart of the Cotswolds in Worcestershire. With a museum, fine dining & cafes, an art gallery & boutique shops.
'Broadway Tower', sitting high up looking down onto the town is65 feet in height, at the top you will see sixteen counties with a radius of 62 miles, seeing as far as the Brecon Beacons to Birmingham. The area around encompassing Neolithic settlements, Bronze & Iron age forts & long lost 'Romas villas'. Beneath the tower are fossilised remains of Jurassic sea creatures that lived and hunted in the shallow warm seas in the landscape 200 million years ago.

I live 5 mins from Stow. The road surfaces are appalling here, but stay away from the main roads and it's very peaceful and beautiful.

The Cotswolds are a lovely area to visit, you're right, when we have ventured off the main routes there are some lovely roads. We always grab a bite & coffee at Koti bikers cafe just outside Chipping Campden 👍

I used to work for many years in hotel just outside dumbleton village, few miles from Evesham. Beautiful part of England. I also cleaned a house once a week in Laverton , very small village close to Broadway. Haha. I miss those places and people so much .

Hi Roland, I went for another ride around the Cotswolds & posted another video tonight. I found more things to do in the Cotswolds! In Bourton-on-the-water there is a wildlife park called Birdland, the Cotswold Motoring Museum, a model village & a Dragonfly maze. Cirencester & Stratford are also worth a visit obviously depending on you're time & preferences as to what you wish to see. I just thought I'd mention this as I remembered you sent me a message before. Happy riding buddy.

7:37 I'm surprised you didn't give any commentary on The Lygon Arms, as it has great historical significance; both Charles 1st and Cromwell have stayed there. But great video...my favourite part of the country! 😀

Thanks Jer for your comment, I've just looked at the history behind this historical & oldest Inn in the country. Wish I had mentioned it in the vid had I known. The beauty of hindsight! Daz.

@@DazmatronMotorcycleTrips You can't be expected to know about every place you pass, after all! I only know it because I Googled it after a visit there some years ago. I've probably ridden/driven past many places over the years, without realising their history. Anyway, keep the videos coming! 😀👍

@@Jer0867 yes thats true but thanks for pointing it out I take interest in that sort of thing too. If anything, post ride I could Google places to find out stuff then type it on screen, so thanks for that 👍.

I am thinking about renting a motorcycle just outside of Heathrow and doing a ride up to Stow on the Wold. I am American and have never driven on the left, but I have been riding street bikes for 40 years. any advise??

@@skrimpdaddy Hi buddy, there are motorcycle hire places, I searched the net, there is one called roadtrip.uk
I havn't used this company myself but they are based 20 min near to the airport & run a collection service.
Regards riding on the left, I'd recommend putting something on the handlebar to remind you. It mainly catches you out when you stop somewhere then take off again when there's no traffic around as a visual reminder. Generally though as I found riding in Rhodes/Spain/Germany you generally just adapt to riding on the opposite side with no issues. Just take your time & enjoy, the Cotswolds are beautiful 👍🙏.
Let me know how you get on I'd be interested on how you get on my friend. Daz

@@skrimpdaddy I just checked that website out, they'd be able to put together a pre-programmed guide on the sat-nav which would also take away the stress of which way to go & places to visit 👍

I contacted RoadTrip and they are not able to accommodate a one day hire for the weekend and I am constrained as I will be off to York then Edinburgh. I did search the web but all i found were scooter rentals. I don't think oxford Harley does rentals like my local shop here in the states. I know it would be a very cool day if I can ride while I'm over there...

@@skrimpdaddy Might be worth contacting them? If they can't help you perhaps they can recommend another company?
