This brought back some memories, my brother and I used to go to auctions twice a week in the 90s early 2000s. He'd sit at one end and I'd sit the other then we'd bid on anything we liked the look of. One vehicle came in and I was bidding on it, 350, 4, 450, 5 until I won it at 950. Walked over all pleased with myself to tell my brother and he said I was bidding on that too😂 we'd both been bidding against each other ffs, like something you'd see in only fools and horses.
I saw this at Blsckbushe husband and wife took a boxster from 27k to £36k before the auctioneer said are you together they nodded and banged hammer down it was hilarious ☺️
Lee I love your channel ,but when you are at the Auction if you kept slightly to the right and kept the Auction Board in the top left of your shot we could see the bids 😊

Really enjoying your auction videos. Not always easy to hear what the auctioneers saying. Those Honda Civic Type Rs have a following thats growing. That BMW 330 Clubsport was nice.
Hi Lee , l love your channel and car auctions, when your in the auction room where possible could you have your camera pointed more to the digital screen please? Most of the time l cant quite understand the auctioneer so seeing the screen is a great help, keep up the great work and if l lived up north l would buy a car from you as you are a genuine fella 😁😁
Totally agree about Lee being a good bloke and would definitely buy a car from him. There are other auto channels (without giving them a plug on Lee's channel) who appear to have the same values as Lee and also don't want to sell a pup. It sort of raises your perception of motor traders and that there are good guys out there and youtube is probably a good way of finding them.
I thought the X Type and the Peugeot 407 were pretty good value. I don't get it with the Honda though. Good car but overpriced IMO. Lee, could you do a standalone video on exactly what the auctioneer is saying during the auctions? He talks so fast I struggle with what he's saying most of the time😂
Black Focus need/s buying. I bought a wreck of an Audi A3 1.6 TDi cab under 100k this week. £800 wish hadn’t. Needs sooooo much paint. And a winda Reg. And a dual mass
Lee, another great video. Had a go on vehicle score and seems a very useful tool especially as its free to use. Think I may have sold my last car a bit cheap. Hay ho live a learn!

I understand times are hard with money but buying cheap sometimes means means buying twice and you end up more out of pocket buying old relics.
Even spending a grand a year on old relics makes sense. Run it for a year then throw it for an mot. If it passes, superb. If not and the scrap man calls, then bin it and get 250 back. I paid 850 for a 116i with 149k on it. Mot'd it for 200 quid, and was really enjoying it. Sadly written off in a hit and run but did a sterling job of protecting the occupants
I didn't realise we were back to those affordable levels yet, but seems like a fair selection available at that kind of cost for 3 years 8k miles per year (e.g. 5dr Polo). It's too rich for me at £10k over 3 years, but I am all for other people buying new so I can live on their leftovers!
Nothing wrong with the 6 speed DSG provided they’re serviced on the dot. The problem is, very few owners do service them on the dot! Mine is on 207k with absolutely no problems, but it’s had a DSG fluid and filter change every 35-37k. My previous one did 145k with no issues and is still on the road now at 250k.
These are going wrong even with proper service. They are quite a bit fragile and too particular and thus they can (and do) go wrong. Yes, a lot of the time is also negligence on the part of the owner but this fundamentally means it's a fault with the design as normal cars should have a fair bit of leeway on that service time plus they should be made simple and robust enough to last different conditions, temperatures etc. In a hot climate the DSG is notoriously known for breaking down way too easy.
@@ikaruga24 I’ve had quite a few DSG VWs, and the only one I had a problem was back in 2012 on a MK5 Golf. Two clutch packs replaced, the VW dealer told me VW (the company) has fixed the issue with harder linings and it worked out ok. Since then I’ve had a 2013 Jetta 1.4 twin charger, a 2017 2.0 turbo 155 Highline Sport and a 2016 MK3 TTS all dsg and in Australia. No problems with those ever. I think a problem is that some owners negate on getting this transmission serviced, it’s not cheap. The DSG transmission years ago was a bit notorious I guess, but in my recent experience I haven’t had any problems and those 3 cars were bought used, and the TTS had been driven hard.
SEAT are just a cheaper VW - great value like Skoda. Next door is on his 2nd Leon - his Mrs will only have a Golf coz of the VW badge ........... they have same budget so his cars have been newer and better than hers lol.
For the Type R, you could have listed so many positives apart from ‘it’s a good car’. I wish you would have given us a minute extra with it as you are right pal they are in demand. Btw I don’t mean anything negatively incase my comment gets read wrong
Most of the non ulez cars are being redistributed up north, how long until local authorities try and bring in there own charges may change that but for now its ok
Auction question Lee. In the US, we are able to get in the vehicles, start them, use a scan tool for codes, even test drive on a closed track. Look under the hood and fully check all vehicles up for auction. That does not seem to be the case in the UK, it appears you can only look at the locked vehicle and listen to it as it drives through the lane. Very risky purchases or are we seeing the UK Auto Auction process wrong. Thanks. Cheers.
Depends on the auction house. My local place you grab the keys, start (but not drive- ok maybe pull it forward but nothing more) plug in the code reader etc... But the modern large auction houses changed during covid, they offer a warranted sale designed around remote bidding. The car will have an info pack with a 200 point check - runs/drives, no warning lights, all damage photographed etc. Essentially most things you would/could check yourself has already been done. You can return within 48 hours any car for a full refund that you find not to be as the warranted sale inspection sheet.
@@andrewsmall6568 Thanks. Lee could start them at the open lot but not at the auction houses. You are right about how rules can be quite different at auction houses. Thank you for the info. Cheers.
@@andrewsmall6568 Every auction house may operate a little different but most of the big players the format runs like in the video. BCA which is one of the largest auction groups in the world operate online only now after covid. Thanks for watching mjmohn in the US 👍👍👍👍
Can't speak for todays sales, but when auctions first started buyers did damage test-driving to bodywork and clutches. Some would swap plug leads over to cause non-start or back fire. One seller even admitted cutting the hood-release cable, another one would take out oil pressure bulbs etc. In the end it had to stop, and the only way to check car was to question the sale driver as he approached the rostrum. He would be very careful with his reply !
I could go further than that and suggest that whole chain is/was corrupt. From the yard lads to the transporter and trade plate delivery drivers that help themselves to the odd component and leftover found within. I could also suggest that i won't suggest, but I WILL suggest that they might be suggestible to the notion M'lud!

most important jobs are getting that breakast voucher and seeing off the wifes Range Rover on the sly lol cute little cars those CR-Zs, I'd seriously consider one for my Mrs if her 5th attempt at getting a licence works. first time i saw a Chrysler 300C was when I lived in Manila back in 2005; it was owned by a local Pimp - I jest not.
How long do they give you to shift cars out of their lot? When I was allowed in BCA most cars would be loaded straight onto a flat bed or driven off virtually immediately.
Martin on the rostrum mate, your right about dearer stuff it's harder work, I've put a 19 plate c3 up and no calls, you seem to have to make dearer cars cheap (affordable) but you can make cheap cars dear, if you follow me.
Hello mate I noticed you go for the older Astra's - Is there a reason why you don't go for the newer 2012 upwards model? 1.4l in your opinion any good?
I will buy the odd astra J, but they seem to be more problems with them, electric issues etc. I prefer the 1.6 petrol over the 1.4 but will sell a 1.4 but normally need a chain doing for sale

I have a quarry regarding a car auction is it not in violation of trading standards and discrimination when they accept members of the public cars for auction but only permit traders in to buy those vehicles for auction because in doing that they are violating members of the public right to purchase the said vehicle so allowing the motor trade to do over the public in not allowing them into that auction looking further into it and will consider contacting the Trading standards and possibly a solicitor to check whether it is a case of discrimination
@@carukchannel No not at Manheim Auction in Saltash I have tried to register as a buyer been told in no uncertain terms they only take registration from Trade

Typical Smokey Minis, they are useless. I have one now which is a smoker and I can’t shift it understandably. However those Civic type rs are getting to ridiculous prices, they are only about 10k less than what they were brand new with some really low mileage minters going for 14K which is crazy. Those club sports are rare things and yes, those CRZs are forgotten and rare for a reason.

Too much money for your Customers. Lovely Meriva. Nice mileage. The Interior is like brand new. The Car with the most petrol will get you home lol😅. Christ I want that Fiat 500 Lee 😢 Aaahhhhh. Lol. I want to Cry. That Blue Aygo would have done me proper. I love them. They cost big money over here Lee. So keep that in mind bro because i need one. Or a Clean Mini. Thanks for all your hard work again. Great Video Lee. Stay safe and keep Smiling 😅 🇨🇮🇨🇮
Have two fiat 500's I have bought just working on them currently, thanks for watching Liam 😁

😁💪
most important jobs are getting that breakast voucher and seeing off the wifes Range Rover on the sly lol
cute little cars those CR-Zs, I'd seriously consider one for my Mrs if her 5th attempt at getting a licence works.
first time i saw a Chrysler 300C was when I lived in Manila back in 2005; it was owned by a local Pimp - I jest not.
Guys can we not rent a crowd !!!!!!!!!!
Where is this auction
Lee,Get it moved.........😅
He was not messing about 🤣
I bet that big Citroen didn't make it home without the dash lighting up like a Christmas tree.
Sound was pretty bad after 1st car couldn't really hear the guy. No prices on screen. Not sure what they went for. Would help if you had sale prices for each one on screen. One things for sure, they need a better sound man there, it sounds terrible!
i put the price on every car sold on the end of each clip
@@carukchannel Sorry I didnt intend to send this unedited. There was one missing a price and that why i sent the message. I realised the others had prices afterwards. I was pretty knackered and didn't realise I'd sent it. Cheers for the vid. Really useful :)
I will save you your time and fee's, they allow members of the public in
@@carukchannel No not at Manheim Auction in Saltash I have tried to register as a buyer been told in no uncertain terms they only take registration from Trade
What is they name auction?
Prees heath
Lee great proggrsmme, one little thing your descriptions when on walk abouts is drowned out by back round noise ,slow down !!
Noted
Can we finance the auctioned cars or cash ?
Nope need to pay bacs or card, traders can get stocking loans if they are established
What are the fees? that have to be paid?
varies on the sale price, but for a trader account on a £1k car fees would be circa 169
@@carukchannel Well that certainly cuts into any profit you make when buying through the auctions then
You seem a really good guy but there is no link to actually buy any of your cars or I am missing something I have a sister looking for something cheap but reliable if you can help
I can't believe that Jag went for £750, the prices seemed MENTAL today Lee on a good few, you think?
Cheers for the vid mate as ever
I thought there was some cheap bits in that sale, I just could not buy them 😂
Post code please
Typical Smokey Minis, they are useless. I have one now which is a smoker and I can’t shift it understandably. However those Civic type rs are getting to ridiculous prices, they are only about 10k less than what they were brand new with some really low mileage minters going for 14K which is crazy. Those club sports are rare things and yes, those CRZs are forgotten and rare for a reason.
Good video but isn't it just me or is this trade not fair, they pick up cheaper cars and sell for 5x
Not getting 5x sadly ggwoods
@@carukchannel haha one day keep up the grind 💪💪
Where do you live in uk ❤
Nantwich, cheshire
What the fees at Aston bracly mate?
why are the sound systems at all auctions complete crap
yes they sound like british rail station sound systems 🤣
What would you do if a customer tried haggling on a car by using these auction videos to say how much you paid for them?
Its a business and simple economics, I don't go into Tesco's and haggle on a pint of milk, no difference most things we buy have margin to the seller
