      Perfect home for a vampire. The inner house is secure, no windows, and unless you know the history of the house you'd never suspect that it's there. . .

    The secret house inside the house is probably one of the coolest things I've ever seen and a smart way to preserve a part of history.
    I'm kind of glad they built it into the house since Japan isn't really know for preserving older buildings

    By far the most bizarre house yet. Whoever built the new house had great taste. I could just sit in the room with carved wooden wall panels and chill for hours. Piece of art.

  • @Elonquin
    @Elonquin 2 ปีที่แล้ว +81

    This is a house with a multiple personality disorder and various identity crisis's going at the same time. It is absolutely a hot mess and still glorious.
    From the erratic tilework, mixed design themes to having a pawnshop built into it and then going back to just plain old regular tatami rooms and a standard japanese kitchen and bedrooms. To just finally ripping off it's mask and showing it was all built around a old warehouse.
    I admire the confidence and dedication of the people that shaped this house to what it became, but damnit it is loopy. I love it.

I was born in Taiwan, not Japan, but we do have some Japanese cultural influences. I guess one of those is sleeping on tatami grass. I remember we had a roll my parents or grandparents would unroll for you to lie on. It's great because it still feels cool to the touch even when its super hot. And that smell, I can still smell it now even though I haven't seen tatami or used it in 20ish decades!

Also, the storehouse is nice but the thick everything alongside the only two entrances in it are kind of scary lol. Imagine feeling locked up inside a house and then realizing it's a house within another house so there's no outside the other side of the wall yet (and it's kind of dark in there, too). It's an interesting but also sort of creepy house. Also full of potential (you could do so much in it).
