I just bought the Veken Pet Drinking Fountain (Aug. 29th, 2024) and the instruction says how to clean the pump. It says: and I quote ''Do not disassemble the impeller! If cleaning is required, open the pump cover and flush the impeller with water.'' Also, I agree with Nathan that the instructions regarding the filter is to put it as described by Nathan in this video. Can't wait to try it and I know my cats and my chihuahua will love it.
If you haven’t yet, please go back and take the packing tape off of the pump inside the cat’s drinking water. It was just to hold it in place for shipping. There are small suction cups under the pump to hold in in place in the stainless steel bowl. I’m scared the cheap packing used from wherever this thing was made could breakdown releasing chemicals into the water that a simple charcoal filter won’t get out.
Yup, I did take those off after I realized there were section cups under the pump. Thanks for telling me.

Guy, you put the filter in incorrectly and you're supposed to take the tape off of the filter.

What I hate about this is that the filters are an extremely poor fit. They won’t sit down in the lid.
The pumps on most pet fountains come apart for cleaning. Not easy on any of them. He did not talk about that.
If only this fountain worked wirelessly as well, It would be perfection!
