My computer kept crashing forever because I did a DDU driver clean for my GPU not knowing it also wipes the Chipset. I installed the chipset drivers & it fixed the issue. 😂😅
Can you please let me know why or how you knew you had to chose the Socket AM4? I have the same processor than you and my board is also B550, but I would always try to go to AMD 7 Series in the list and end up downloading Ryzen Master not knowing then how to update the drivers. I know nothing about computers so that's why I'm asking.
Is because is not the same. The chipset is on this generation on the motherboard not on the cpu still so the number that you care about are the b550, x470, etc. And on there you can install different cpus so to update the chipset you don’t really need to search for the model of cpu that you have

You have to look with a software like hwinfo what processor you have or in windows settings
