I agree 100% with Alicia. Whether Liz knows she's using that spell or not, she's manipulating people. She wants all the attention on her and wants everything to be about her. Everyone follows her and agrees with everything she says. But not once has any of her followers stood up to her and told her what she says makes no sense or is wrong. That's why they cause trouble for Alicia because, unlike them, Alicia isn't easily manipulated or afraid to give her own opinions. She's not afraid to speak her mind when she has to. Which is something Liz and especially her followers can't stand. I mean, look at Alicia's brother. At the beginning of the anime, he and Alicia were close. Then when Liz appeared he did a complete 180 and treated Alicia like she was nothing. She says all the guys that follow her are her friends. But as Duke says, Liz knows herself that's not true. She's forcing them with her spell to be around her and listen to her and only her. If it wasn't for Liz, everyone would go about their lives. Liz knows this more than anyone. Seriously as she ever wondered why people worship her so much and always go along with everything she says without questioning her?
Oh, I thought Duke was referring to Albert's crush. So I got confused about that scene. But now I get it. He was referring to how their friendship is unequal.
I also wonder if Liz just grew up being lucky her whole life. She was ignorant which is still bad but she was just not corrected like how Alicia does. It is hard thing to just hate her. Which I like a lot.
You know, i genuinely appreciate that they made the super perfect protagonist girl in this one a flawed but ultimately good person. A person who lacked empathy due to a derth of life experience, but who had boundless sympathy because she still wanted everyone to be happy even if she fundamentally didn't understand unhappiness. so much so that when she actually got proof and believed in the fact she was unintentionally harming the people around her, she took her moment to greive what she thought she had but then set that aside to learn what she needed to do to stop causing that harm. Great job!
I agree. I was hoping beyond hope that Liz wasn’t aware of what she was doing. Mostly because I have seen so many of these tyype of anime, and other types as well, where the innocent kind hearted Heroine, or even Hero, was really an evil sadist, or went down a dark road, or whatever. Either way I’ve seen it done before, but not ‘oh they are a good person, and are causing trouble unintentionally. I especially love the twist that Liz doesn’t really know how to control her power. After all it is a legendary ancient power, with no instructions manuals, and no one who was trained in controlling the power who can help her. The closest thing to explaining the power was a book written in an accident language not everyone can read, especially commoners in this world, and was just stated to have been biased because of the charm power, or the other stories at least. It really gives it a feel of realism, and gives Liz far more depth to her character.
That bothered me as well, unless Alicia shows with her actions that she doesn't care for him (not apologizing to him after their fight would be an example) she has no right to claim something like that. Quite arrogant
Rejected girls in anime usually say stuff like that lol. They may not know, but they’re extremely salty. Bc their “rival” got with the man of their dreams. I mean it would’ve been worse if they were engaged for years or something. Bc then it’s more of the guys fault. Since he could’ve called off the engagement for years, but led her on.
The only thing that makes me feel a little sympathy for Liz is that is true that no one taught her how to be a saint, they took her out of her comfort zone, she was alone and everyone looked down on her for not being a noble. However the fact that she refuses to listen even though there is evidence (the book and how Jane acted) complained about Duke not loving her with her brainwash active, claimed to love Duke more than Alicia and saying that she wished that Alicia disappeared because Duke doesn't love her (even though there was no garantie that he would love you without Alicia in his life). My Empathy died
The fact that all Liz could focus on was the Charm not working on Duke genuinely disgusts me. They're telling you that you've literally been brainwashing people, turning them against their family and friend, but all you can do is whine about someone not loving you? Liz is legit an awful person, even worse to cry about no one telling her how to be the Saint, but expecting perfection. People worshiping you as the Saint is YOUR will on THEM. No one at the school even LIKED YOU before you started brainwashing them, what makes you think anyone genuinely believed you were a perfect person? And Alicia still somehow managing to be kind to Liz despite it all only pisses me off more. Be a proper villainess and tell her off! Call her out for always hating you and turning your FAMILY AND FRIENDS AGAINSG YOU!
We didn't really see much interaction between Liz and Duke. Most of the time he acts indiffrent to her... We only see how she's surrounded by other guys and she said that Albert was the one who helped her on the first day. It seems to me like she had a crush on him just because he looks good or he was a prince or that he was choosen by blue rose... Her love for him doesn't seem to be genuine.
I have a feeling she unconsciously liked him because unlike the others he showed zero interest in her and she wanted him because he was a "challenge" or "I want something that I can't have". To me this feels more like greed rather than love.
I was wondering the same, we know that Duke fell in love with Alicia because even though she is a noble she acts freely, something he wish he could do. And Alicia maybe fell for him because the kindness he showed her (that was originally for Liz) but it seems that Liz only fell for his looks, atraccion at first sight not love at first sight
@@zoefurlong8031yeah I think the same, it isnt love it more like an obsession, a desire or just because he is good looking but love someone just because of he/she is good looking its not a genuine love its too superficial to be a genuine love
I mean shallow people exist in the real world too. People go for those they’re attracted to. They don’t always care about personality. I believe both should matter though. I think she mainly went after him bc he didn’t care that she was the Saint. Maybe she felt the other people didn’t actually care about her personally. They only cared about her status as a saint. So nothing they did felt genuine maybe? It’s like caring for someones wellbeing not bc of who they are, but bc of what they can do for you.
Isn't this confrontation of who the 'real' liz is seems quite easygoing yet somehow unsettling?🤔 It was revealed in one go, and just how fast the shift of her attitude and wow her boiling hatred & jealousy for alicia has finally came to surface... and now she managed to free herself from the scurtiny of her harem, alicia and others so quickly by so called "improving herself" ( maybe to become more manipulative and be the most sanctified victim, now that she has the ancient book). Everything about this definitely is dubious...🤨🤥 In addition, it is just astounding on what go through the mind of this so called saint when it was OKAY for her to manipulate everyone to the point of worshipping her because she wanted to feel the attention, acceptance, and love. Also, SUPER OKAY creating an imaginary rift between alicia and her brothers for five years...God it really pisses me off 😾
I don't really understand the flashback about Liz and Albert. First they were seen as distant while she was smiling so I guess that was before she used charm magic on them. Then they became infatuated with her. Not sure how Albert's unreciprocated crush relates to charm magic in Duke's argument. I mean, yes I know the crush is because of the charm magic, but that is much harder to prove than the abnormal way nobody argues with Liz.
The “beloved saint” has exposed herself 😂🤣 I mean deserve she’s been playing the roll of main character but failed miserably u can’t always get what you want
I think Liz doesn't realize her selfish-ness because how could someone think that everyone should agree with what she says but aren't allowed to express different opinions? Especially not knowing that people are going out of their way to bully others for the sake of the saint. Not only that, but wouldn't anyone wonder why everyone just submits to them so passivley? Especially if you are a goody-tooshy who does love everyone, you should realize that these things are wrong. I think people like this who want everyone to be pleased are the most selfish of them all. She wants to please everyone, but not everyone can be pleased and that is why Alicia is more confident in herself. As we see here, even a Saint can be insecure. People pleasers are more focused on being on everyone's good side which pushes away people that do care about them and will do anything in order to get validation. Liz is similar to this. Especially after casting a spell on Duke so she can have him all to herself. That is selfish and self centered

I’m curious to know how Liz can claim to love Duke more than Alicia. She has no idea how Alicia feels because she’s not her.

It's arrogance to a degree.

She does have a fake eye inside her eyepatch
it's a organ swap with the banished king Will. So, she has his damaged cursed eye now
Alicia just like Beidou (Genshin Impact)
No way how did this changed so much from the novel? well i'm kinda glad the bullshit didn't last long but still!?
