Folks, Ive been to Laos a few times because my fiance lives in Vientiane . In the capitol, you see all the NGO's driving around in their Land Cruisers and Range Rovers, but once you get in the countryside, you do not see much help hitting the bricks. There is so much poverty its too much for those with the most golden of hearts. Ive met Todd and he is the real deal. If you do happen to be there while he is around, meet the man for a beer. He is honest to a fault and will open your eyes to things that may not get covered here on TH-cam much. Everybody please have a blessed day and be thankful for what you have.

Such a kind gesture from Mina, who seems to understand how fortunate she is to have you and Neenee in her life. Both of you are doing such a GREAT job in teaching and raising her. Very enjoyable, interesting video. Making my inaugural visit to SE Asia in October to Thailand for a month. Next year planning on spending 2-3 month visiting several SE Asian countries, presumably, Laos, Cambodia and Vietnam. Am a 1st generation 74-year-old Chinese American male, married with 4 children born, raised, educated living in Southern California. Thank you for sharing your personal lives and life's adventures with your viewers. Her English is amazing and has only come about through the love and care that you give to her and the love that she has for you. The Pizza place looks great and the menu is so full of delicious food. Great to see another of your videos Todd. Always fascinating to be able to experience a bit of life in Laos. It's just like being there. Hi Todd, we stayed at the Vientiane Garden Boutique Hotel across the road from Eataly and had one of their Pizzas, Your right great Pizzas

That pizza looks amazingly authentic. Do you know if the chef or owner is Lao that lived on the East Coast of the U.S.?
I'm Born and raised in NYC but the last 30 years living in Oregon I can tell you that pizza looks better than 95% of the pizzas i've had here in Oregon. The crust looks spot on , cheese,spot on, and those pizza slices in the window are actually called "Sicilian", Square or Detroit Style but back East no one ever says Detroit style(blasphemous) only Sicilian or Square. Those also look authentic as well as the Lasagna so that's why i'm wondering if the owner ever lived or worked in the states or perhaps Italy. I'll be sure to visit that place whenever i come to Laos in the future. I make my own lasagna at home. Here we call it, "Take Out or Take Home, instead of Take away.. a North American thing. Nice video as always Tod.
Hi Steve.. Neenee did ask actually. The owners are Lao.. but their grandfather was Italian. Not doubt he's passed on a lot of knowledge about Italian cuisine. This restaurant needs a lot more recognition.. absolutely delicious 👌
@@NowinLao - Wow!! It figures. They did a great job on retaining his culinary knowledge. I'm glad to see this high quality restaurant open in Vientiane. They certainly do need more recognition. i know here in the states , about 75% of all restaurants fail at the 2 year mark. i truly hope they prosper, it's a hard business to be in. Maybe some signage around town would help as well, mostly in the tourist areas? A Michelin star perhaps? Please pass on my compliments even though I haven't tasted any of their dishes. Regarding their pan pizza, it's hard to get the crust right, the dough preparation can be tricky and takes time.(There are some TH-cam videos done by Italian chefs that can clarify how a good dough is made) Most pizzas done by non- Italians, the crust looks flat, hard and tastes bland. the owners must have their secret recipe under armed guard 24-7!!

The pizza and lasagna looked good. The seafood spaghetti might be a healthy meal. All you guys need now is a downtown Hmong pizzeria. Then we’d see everything. 👍🏻

My Lao teacher said she didn't like pizza, then she said she liked Italian pizza just not pizza from The Pizza Company, and then she said The Pizza Company puts ketchup on their pizza and I was horrified, who puts ketchup on pizza?! I was very glad I hadn't eaten there, but I'll have to check out that pizza spot near Wind West, looks good.
The locals I've met have also said separate your cans and bottles from the normal trash for good luck, but it seems a lot of times when a Lao person says something is for good luck it's often just a kind thing to do, separating your trash so the poor folks who depend on it don't have to dig for the trash for recycling is just a kind thing to do.
i love you mate, and i somtimes step in for a littele amount, but at the sametime i support Ukrain somthing, just small but do. and im not rich. And i love you all. Hard times in the land of plenty :-)

Lol howdy Todd,,the string on the tooth brought back memories. 😂😅 my Grandma,,when us grandkids were staying with her and we had a sloppy loose tooth. She'd tie the string to the tooth and the other end to the door knob and she'd tell us to brace ourselves and she'd slam the door and the tooth would go flying. It didnt really hurt at all,,but 3 of my girl cousins were big babies and bawl their eyes out,,then I'd have to cry for them. 😂😅 from about 8 on I'd take care of them myself,,tooth fairy be damned. The food looked pretty good. I hope the naibon is cooperative and gets the paper signed. I hope Mina doesn't get so homesick she wants to move back. I seriously don't think she will,,but after the shenanigans with her biological father,,I alway worry a bit. Every time she is featured on a video,,I get blown away by her whole persona,,she is so kind and sweet and empathetic like with the old woman,,shes wicked smart,,and I swear she has the best sense of humor of any 7 yr old I've ever seen.
