@@WeveGotBush it is hard calculation when you not use to it. Most of the time the car already does most of the calculation. If you don’t think you can make it to your destination, possibly a good idea to charge a bit more on the way. It is all up to you. But choosing not to turn on ac at Brisbane during summer it is a no no to me.
@@7jp539nY Drive in to fuel station , fill up with diesel , pay for it and drive out 5 mins later ,, drive all the way to Brisbane without stopping and have enough fuel left in the tank to drive back to Coffs again . Use 18 litres of diesel at a cost of $32 .. $7 more for no stress.... bargain.
@@Leo555ZZZ if this is how you look at thing that might be true in your case, however, how about other cost such as maintenance? Our car has done about 30,000kms so far it’s been about $150 for servicing cost. Just like phone our car does auto update with extra features things such as auto lane changing adjustment, auto stop when the car in front of you stopping, auto drive when the car in front start moving, auto adjust speed during traffic ?
@@roniejulianto4977 Servicing is a minor cost of car ownership ,,the major cost is depreciation ..and insurance , tyres and any accident repairs. What is the future resale value of an EV ? How many people want to buy a used EV with a degraded battery ?
@@davidd1492 we stayed at Coff Harbour in the morning, before leaving we had a somewhat full charge on our car. Knowing that we wouldn't have enough charge all the way to Brisbane we had to stop at Byron for a top-up of $25 worth of "fuel/charging". Officially the full drive on this day starts at Coff, ending at Brisbane with 1 stop at Byron that costs us $25 ish.

Driving a fuel efficient car with an ICE engine would cost almost the same for fuel , and only take 5 minutes to charge.
Care to back that up with actual numbers?

this trip was from Coffs Harbour to Brisbane but stopping at the lighthouse at Byron Bay as we never been there before
