    That’s exactly what my Keurig did right after I descaled it. Keurig sent me one to replace it bc it was only 3 months old. It was quite a process to go through. Keurig also stated that I would only have 1 replacement. I think that is reasonable but when my replacement ceases to work I will definitely buy from a different manufacturer. My first Keurig lasted 10 years. The new Keurigs are cheaply built and not reliable.

      Mine was from Christmas. Cleaned it then it wouldnt turn back on. So i took it apart and reset it.

      Mine was 3 months old. It didn’t need cleaning. It needed a new a circuit

    Thank you! my Keurig overheated last year, so I bought a new one. This year, the same thing happened, but this time I found your video. It worked like a charm, but taking the appliance apart is tricky. Resetting the thermal switch itself is easy. I also figured out, because I left the empty water tank with the filter in it while away, the filter dried out and wouldn’t allow water to flow from my tank to the machine causing it to overheat on my first attempt to make coffee again…Lesson learned! Thanks for salvaging an otherwise good coffeemaker!

    Yo! I don’t have a supreme, the bottom says K26. Took it apart, found a white disk, paper clipped it, put it back together and it worked! I only have 5 little pieces of plastic from broken clips. LOL Considering it was 5 minutes away from the trash can, I’ll take it. Thank you so much for making this video!!!!

    I have this exact Keurig and it was hardly used, but stopped turning on after having been stored for a year. I tried this and it fixed the problem. I almost threw it away. Had no problem doing this as your video was so easy to follow. Thank you so much for sharing.

      I'm praying it works for me. I've had mine on a shelf in storage since last winter. Just got it out to get it ready for Fall and it won't power on at all. Had this happen before, threw the old one away and bought a new one last year so this is fairly new. Praying. I'm about to try this now.

    Thank you for posting this video! I had started a cup, went outside for a minute and came back to an empty cup and a machine that wouldn’t turn back on. After watching your video a couple of times, I was able to disassemble the outer cover and used a dental scaler to push inside the hole in the thermalcouple… it didn’t work the first time, then I just pushed harder inside that hole and i turned it on. Thanks again!

    I don't understand why they couldn't have made it user resettable with an LED or other indicator that tells you something is wrong. Maybe they could have even listed in the instruction manual why this happens. You shouldn't have to open up the whole thing or assume that it's completely broken. Great video.

      No problem, it may last much longer without any further issues or it might be a early sign of a failing pump. I’m so happy to hear that you were able to get the coffee flowing once again.

    I just tried this out, and it seemed to have got it working again it turned on but seconds later it smelt like burnt fuze, I dont want to tamper with it any more dont want to start a fire but for sure thankful for your help i know it must work only mine is probably just due for replacement.

      Your pump is bad and the heater is running without water in it because of that.

    Good video. FYI when you loosen up the bottom the back piece on hooks and makes it easier for the case to come apart.

    great video, thank you! unfortunately this is not what's wrong with my Keurig 920 supreme. when brewing , water doesn't come out just in center, but splashes five drips, not one down center. i have purchased silicone washers that fit on the multi pore needles. waiting to see it this helps. Good you tell me what could be wrong?

    Awesome Video! Once I reset my Keurig tries to pump water it overheats and trips again.
    I’ll keep trying, think I let it sit for too long.

      It either needs another attempt or your pump is out or ran dry and needs primed to pull water correctly.

    I have an issue where the handle wont stay down after adding the pod. Wife had dropped an broke reservoir which we replaced any thoughts? Thanks Ron

    I tried this 3xs (resetting the thermostat) and it will work as in that it turns on once I plug it in but then it dies on me again! I just think that my keurig is defective 😞. I’ve already cleaned out the needles and rinsed the filter and all.

    I did everything in the video but when when I press the center of thermocoupler, nothing. There's no click, no nothing. What am I doing wrong?

      It means that you have a different issue because your thermocouple doesn’t need reset. Sorry this did not fix your machine.

      As I mentioned, same problem here. I called customer service. They asked a couple questions, let me through basic steps, said it couldn't be fixed, checked warranty (expired less than a year ago. They offered a discount on a replacement. I declined that as we already have a substitute. They send me a coupon to order a box of up to 24 Keurig K-cups, including shipping. Total value: ca. $18.

      If it’s already broke and out of warranty then I’d just take it apart anyway and see if you can fix it.

    About 3 years ago I had the descale light go on my Keurig, so I bought the chemicals made by Keurig and followed the exact instructions on the bottle, but when I went back after 30 min to rinse the machine it would not turn on. So I called Keurig to trouble shoot and they told me the machine would never restart but they could offer me 50% off on a new machine from their site. I bought one and a year and a half later, descale light comes on.....I pull the solution out of the cabinet and follow the instructions and what do you know, the machine doesn't turn back on after you follow the directions to run through multiple cycles it overheats the machine and trips the thermal sensor button. So I call Keurig again, well Mam you are past your one year warranty so we can offer you 50% off a new machine. GRRRR they couldn't put the damn button somewhere accessible on the outside of the machine if they know this happens regularly because they would never make any damn money.....much less care about all the additional waste in the landfill because people buy a new machine and throw out the old one for something that can be fixed with the push of a button!!!! THANK YOU Jeff , I am so glad I found this video, my machine is now working again and I will never buy any more Keurig descale solution and follow their stupid, misleading directions.....instead I plan on using cleaning vinegar and water once a week to maintain the machine and if this happens again I know how to fix it without paying Keurig more money. You are a lifesaver and I am now a subscriber!

    I did all this and it worked for half a cup then the thermocoupler tripped again. Then the thermocoupler would not reset.

    Who’s doing all this?! I was so happy when I 1st started the video bc you explained it as if it would be so easy to get the bottom off. Then you proceeded to do literal brain surgery 😢 I guess I’ll be buying another one bc doing all this if you’re not very very skilled is doing more harm than good.

      It’s not really all that complicated. It can be fixed in less than 30 minutes and to me that’s better than spending another $90. If it does seem way too complex try to contact Keurig to see if they will send you a new one or sell one to you at a discount. Best wishes Outside With Jeff

I’ve seen tons of other threads about the same issue as well, which prompted me to come to YT. I was happy it was a seamless process to get a new one tho!

      Just look closely flat what it’s getting hung up or caught on and move it out of the way. It will go back together

    I reset mine, and now when I try to power it on the 12oz light stays on and the power light blinks 2-3 times then turns off instantly within seconds. I tried to hold the 12 oz and pour button and the machine starts to manually pour but only pours cold water, this leads me to believe that my heating element could have died. and this was only after less than 6 months of daily use . what lead to me having to reset it in the first place, was after I finished the descaling process.

      I had mine for 2 years before mine finally broke today. Actually surprised as I gone through two of them and one before lasted 4 years. Guess the quality has gone down for Compact version.

    I have Keurig Slim & I haven’t used it in a year bcuz it was in Storage. I plugged it up last wk & it powered on but I just turned it off bcuz I wasn’t ready to use it. My son went to use it several days later & didn’t add water to reservoir. He did just that, then it wouldn’t power on? I unplugged it & im gonna let it sit for an hour. If it still doesn’t power on I will take these steps to reset it.
    I’ve had it for just a couple of yrs & it already needs a reset!🤷🏽‍♀️🤦🏽‍♀️

      If it runs without water the safety reset will trip so most likely you will need to do the repair in this video. Have a good day.

      Possibly a bad control board. Call Keurig and see if it’s still under warranty.

      You must have a bad control board. Contact keurig and see if you are still covered under the warranty time period.

      Your control board must be shot. Contact keurig and see what they can do as far as sending you a new unit. It’s a known issue.
