- HOW TO FIX Keurig K-Supreme Plus Coffee Maker Dead NO POWER. How to take apart your Keurig and open it up to reset Thermostat model K920. POWER LIGHT WILL NOT COME ON? QUICK FIX. Did your K Supreme Plus die after descaling the coffeemaker? Then it overheated and you need to reset the heating element thermostat with a metal paperclip. I just wanted to say how grateful I am to have found this video today… my dad recently passed away very suddenly and tragically, and I live on my own. He always taught me to be independent and fix things myself and he used to help guide me through steps on how to change a light fixture, how to caulk my counters, how to do my backsplash, how to replace my bathroom vent fan… but now that hes gone I am so beside myself and lost. I thought maybe I would throw some terms into google and see what I can find for help.. imagine my surprise and comfort finding “just a dad” video showing me step by step how to fix my coffee machine myself… I was able to do it all in 15 minutes tonight thanks to you. Fantastic videos. I fixed my Keurig!! I even passed your video onto someone who had the same issue! I would mention that there are two plugs at the front of the Keurig (where the lid shuts down). Your machine didn’t have this! You need to put a screwdriver in there to get it loose. I suspect it’s to make it easier to disassemble. I just want to mention that in case anyone else has that on their Keurig. I am so grateful to you for this perfect video!

OUTSTANDING! Keurig said it was not repairable and offered me 25% off a new one. Almost went there but decided to see how a fix may work since the add water didn't come on and the unit just stopped working from running with no water. Viola! I am so glad there are people like you Sir, that take time to make these DIY videos! Through no ones fault but my own, I ran my maker out of water and thought it was hooped, the online instructions are garbage! Once I watched this vid, I tore it apart and presto, I'm having my Starbucks coffee as I type this. I paid $240 CAD at a small town hardware and to be honest, I could of got a high end model for that price, Thanks to you, it lives another day.

Help! I am unable to unscrew the 3 screws. Tried a small Phillips and also an electric drill bit but unable to get the screws loose. Any thoughts?
I was sceptical of this fix, because the Keurig isn't meant to be disassembled. Having said that, I followed the video step by step and the reset worked perfectly, saving me over $100. Thank you, Thank you! Be aware that this fix is not for people who consider themselves "unhandy". It requires basic mechanical skill with tools.

Dude, your a life saver! After watching your video, I figured out a hack. You'd only need to remove the top panel. I used a 10" long 90 degree pick to reset the thermal fuse. Works like a dream...

Just fixed mine as well and no broken tabs! THANK YOU!!! The trick with popping the tabs is using the barrel of a small Phillips driver sliding and rocking it to release the tabs. THANK YOU AGAIN!!!
Broke just 2 tabs on the top plastic cover but the rest went smoothly. Thanks to you I am now drinking a victory cup of coffee! You just saved me a couple hundred bucks. Thank you again!

Thank you for sharing your knowledge and demonstrating how to fix a common issue. I did a descale last weekend and tripped the thermostat. I found your video before buying a new machine. My husband and I muddled through the week, making coffee with a French press until we had time to fix our Keurig. Following your video, we just completed the fix, and our Keurig is working. After I removed the top I could see the thermal switch so I got a paper clip and used it to make an attachment with the paper clip bent to a 90 deg angle and attached it to a narrow longer common screw driver by taping it to the shaft. I could then Slide it down inside the unit and depress the thermal unit. Your video is great. I'm considering doing what others have drilling a small hole in alinement with thethermal unit.

Followed this for a dead in the water Keurig K-Supreme. Video was invaluable. Switch reset, coffee flowing again. Hoping that there isn't an issue that will trip it again.

Thank you for your great video. My second Keurig stopped the same as the first one. Keurig replaced the first one under warranty but second was out of warranty and your video gave me the courage to try to fix it myself. It worked 😊. It took about 15 minutes.

Thank you so much for posting this. Worked like a charm! My wife was ready to buy something else! (I think she mistakenly removed the water reservoir while it was brewing and that tripped the thermostat.) One thing that puzzles me is why the screws need to be removed from the bottom, since the snaps are on the sides and I don't recall anything on the bottom. I probably missed that. In any event this video is much appreciated!!!! Well edited and the explanations/instructions are perfectly concise and clear.
Yeah others have said the same thing. I thought when I took mine apart the screws need to be removed, but I think you are right, I guess I just assumed they did, you know if you see a screw take it out. LOL. Thanks for watching and sharing your story, It is very common mistake to remove the reservoir during a brew, I see this alot in my comments.

Likely a safety issue. If there's a real problem causing it to trip, it could melt something or maybe start a fire. Just thought because it would be a lot cheaper to put an external reset button than sending out a new unit.
I decided to put a hole in mine while I had it apart to reset it if it happened again. It shut down again after a couple of weeks use, now it won’t reset so I guess I will send it back for repair.
At the very least have the piece that slides up on the left side uncover access to the reset

My first Supreme, I returned to Costco because I could not find any TH-cam video. That was in 2019, and they replaced it with a new unit. Last night, the same thing happened. I have no idea what caused the thermostat to reset. I thought, oh no, not again! Anyway, a quick Google search and your video was at the top of the search results. I did manage to break one of the tabs, but no big deal. The entire process, including testing it before putting the unit together, was less than 20 minutes. Thank you good sir for providing the fix procedure.

Funny story, When I searched YT for "Keurig won't power on" your original post with the supreme came up, I watched and followed your instructions I had a struggle getting the unit opened up. Now the funny part, I have a supreme plus, I cam back to leave a comment on your original post about how I disassembled my unit only to to find this post. Sometimes a little more research will provide the extra assistance one needs.

Thank you sir , I didn’t seat the water pitcher correctly and it shut down the machine. Found your video and this 61 year old women was able to follow along and fix my coffee maker 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉 . Never doubt technology when it is meant for good . Blessings to you .
After watching the video, I was able to remove the three screws (probably only need the rear one), the top piece, and the black curved piece of plastic. Using a trouble light shining in the side, I was able to press the reset with a piece of stiff mechanic's wire, bent into an L shape, insert the short end of the L into the reset hole and press it in using a long flat-bladed screwdriver. Definite click when it resets. Thanks for the informative video!

You'd think that Keurig might make it a bit easier to access that reset, but I guess that most people would just buy a new machine. You're the best!
Friend's family bought a new one because this one went out. They know that I'm pretty good at fixing stuff and good with my hands tinkering. Said I can have it if I fix it. Sure enough it was this thermostat needing a physical reset. Now it turns on. Thanks for the video.

After removing the reservoir while making coffee this morning (yes, I know, stupid move) our Kuerig died. I suspect it air locked and the coil overheated and threw the breaker. This video was exactly what we needed to make the repair. This tutorial was excellent. The repair took 15 minutes and it worked like a charm. Thank you!
I watched this video a while back and it worked great. About a year later the reset button popped again. Had to come back to this video again to figure out how to reset the damn thing. Sure am grateful for this guy to post this video! I subscribed because he's so good at explaining things.
DUDE!!! Exactly the video I needed to fix my Keurig 920. Biggest challenge was getting the case off. After than, simple reset of the heating element thermostat and VOILA!!! It works/brews. Great work. Thanks for the tutorial.

Thanks so much. Today was the third time I have fixed this problem on a Keurig. The first time was on a Keurig that the company had already sent a replacement for so now I have a spare. I didn't even take the spare out of storage today. Just pulled up your saved video and had it fixed in less than 10 minutes. You're the man. My wife is so happy I was able to fix her coffee machine! Hahah, and it saved me however much $$ these stupid things are. Turns out the water filter was too clogged and it didn't draw enough water. I removed the filter and reset this thermostat and now it works perfectly again!

This video did the trick for me. As a production xerox field engineer all I had to hear was “3 screws, 6 tabs and reset the thermostat”. Already ordered the new cafe after I was mad at myself. (Forgot to reload the tank before starting a brew in the morning fog) But this guy will stay around as a solid backup or a housewarming gift for a close friend.
