- The nice folks at Faber-Castell were kind enough to send me a couple sets of Polychromos-one for me and one for you! I wanted to share my unboxing and swatching with you. :)

You are such a joy to watch, especially when I'm coloring. I took up adult coloring about a year ago and we have some similar health issues. We just have to keep going and not let pain win by stopping us from enjoying ourselves. I love the Polychromos and Derwent Colorsoft but the Derwent hurts my hands more. I'm going to start making color swatches using your pages. Thanks so much.
It was so exciting to see you pet your pencils. I just received my my set 120 this week . I pet mine too . Then moved them into a pretty case . I blessed myself with them and the case for my 55th birthday . lol We have the same idea about the color arrangement . I too have pain issues . I have fibro and i have a neck and lower back that is fried . Im almost to the point to where I'm not going to have a choice about having surgery . I use the brand i want when i'm coloring say prismas and inktense. Or Crayola and Derwents . Or gel pens and paint and whatever else I can find . I love texture . I love your vids and very much appreciate the info you provide with the different brands . Loves
Must say I love your silly noises and comments, they lift the spirit on days when pain wants you to give up!! Please don't ever stop!!

I live in the Netherlands and the only way to get prismacolours is by ordering them from Ebay or Amazon. Faber castell polychromos are available (even by the piece) in my local art store
I’ve already purchased the set of 24 and I’m looking to purchase the 60 set because I wanted the full set but I just can’t afford it.
Thank you very much for your video! I felt the same because in August I got the Faber-Castell Polychromos (120)as a birthday present! I was so happy because they are my favorite colored pencils (I used them already in school)!
Talk about anticipation. Having to wait was killing me. It was like the Heinz ketchup commercial. But I do have some of the pencils and I cherish them. You did do a good job. Love your singing.

Absolutely beautiful. I'm like you WERE, only have the small 12 pencil set. Love them. Can;t complain but...that bigger set would be superb!!!
+Connie Edwards, I know! I am totally spoiled with all these pencils! Sometimes I can't believe how amazing it is that I am building myself a job where I get to use all these amazing art tools! Then during the days of long hours of hard editing and work I realize that it's not all just fun...but I am so blessed and I wouldn't trade it!
Are Prisma Watercolor Pencils good? Or should I go with Derwent?
Hello Jennifer! I am 53 and just got my 3rd set of colored pencils this week. I ordered the 24 pack of Prismas last night, and they will be here tomorrow! I cant wait to smell them.LOL! I really enjoy my first set, the Marcos from Amazon(oil based) and very affordable. I have a feeling I am going to fall in lve with Prismacolor and have the full 150 set for my birthday in April- I am hooked on sketching, frawing, and coloring! I enjoy your channel and just subbed. Thanks for the giveaway! xo
I too heard the difference between Prismacolor 132 and 150 count was that the 150 had more greys. This is not true. Both have the same number of warm, cool and French greys. The 18 count difference is a variety of new and beautiful colors. I found this out by buying the 132 count and finding loads of greys. I then went on to buy the remaining 18 colors. I should have done better research first time around! For those who love to bad mouth Prismacolors - I have never found one broken. Love them.👍

I completely hate Prismas as they feel so Cheap

I just purchased the Faber Castell Polychromos, 36pc Studio Set. I got them at Amazon, paid $50.36. They are beautiful! All are light fast. They arrived in perfect condition, nothing broken, it's hot where I live, the high desert, so I was worried about them being melted, but no, they were perfect. The color ranges included were good, at least until I can afford the 120 pc set. The box is pretty cool, the flap folds back so the box stands up while your using them. This is a good, affordable set to get you acquainted with Polychromos.

It never occurred to me to put the colors in a different order, duh! I guess that means I am pretty rigid? Anyway, I did rearrange and it makes so much more sense. Love your videos. Thanks for all your work.

This is so exciting! I know this was months ago, but I get to order the 120 pc. Polychromos set and the Brush and Pencil colored pencil kit in two weeks. My husband spoils me too. LOL I'm about to jump right out of my skin I'm so excited! Your video was a happy little preview! For a portrait artist this is better than Christmas! Then you brought out the swatches....I find swatch making tedious and now I'll have to do a 120 color chart! Argh....but I have a personal rule, swatch before play. For those that like Prismacolors, Jerry's Artarama has the 150(!) set for $69.99 right now plus free shipping! I hear it even has neon colors. Amazing price. Thanks so much for the preview

Don't get too excited. Our car found out we had extra money....sigh...It has to wait a little longer, but I am still going to get them. It's just going to be another couple of weeks. But the anticipation can be really fun!

I've just recently discovered when burnishing the Polychromos in the Hana Karlzon books the oil in the pencils leaches through the paper over time. I haven't experienced this with any of my other books. I just wanted to let everyone know this has been my experience although I like lots of layers and burnishing the finish. Not sure if not burnishing makes a difference. Cheers!

Thank you for your invite. I'm excited to find out about all these different brands of pencils. I got my new 150 pencil set of prima color last week. Like you I would like to add to my collection of pencils now I know about Faber-Castell pencils. And yes I do color charts swatch just beginning with mine. I finished Crayola pencil and working on others. Oh that is cool you have blank ones. I will check that out. Blessings!

your review here is fabulously perfect! Also shake out your hands and fingers through out day breaks up arthritis in hands so simply easy! One can feel the blood flowing in fingers.

Someone asked if the Marco Raffine were similar to FC Polys. No! They are nothing like. They may both be oil based but the Raffine are a cheap pencil and they feel it. They are hard, but somehow slippy so I find I go outside of the lines a lot with Marco Raffine pencils. I have to work quite hard to get an even depth of colour and the colours are a bit weird. No real red, no proper dark browns and even the greens are a bit off.
Polls are a delight to use. You can lay them down so gently. No need to scrub.
I'm not against the Marco Raffines in their place. But they aren't similar. I'm currently watching this whilst colouring with some Marco's at work. These are my work pencils.

I should perhaps say that I have 12 Staedtler Ergosoft pencils at work too. I prefer them over the Raffine. They lay down better I think. But nothing can beat the Raffine for the number of colours you get for such a decent price.
+Sue Wilkinson, I'm going to do a review on the Ergosoft pencils. I'm curious about them because I wasn't too impressed with the Staedtler 1270 line.
I just got the Marco Rafies as my very first set. I love them, but oredered 24 Prismas to start up, and likely will buy a larger or the largest set next month. also nought Crayolas so I have true greeen, Red, etc. In all of my research, Crayola is underrated for those who want to try colored pencils and seek some very good comparison videos. I love all of them, but know I will love adding Prismas to my family. I enjoy the weird colrs in the Marco set. Very happy with them.

Have you got Derwent coloursoft and Derwent inktense for your review as well. I love Faber Castel polychromos & also Albrecht Druher as the polychromos we can get in Australia which are sold through art shops have no colour on the pencil, they are just wood and my first use of the black pencil it broke and it cost me half the pencil to sharpen it & I sharpened it the way you do with the prosmacolour sharpener, so I was disappointed & turned off. I now have the Derwent and Faber Castel sets, which are available open stock. I love pencils but prosmacolour we're nothing but disappointment to me and I did NOT understand the hype to be honest.
Hi, just thought I would say a Big " Thank you" for giving us access to your knowledge and colour charts and such informative videos. They have helped me greatly when deciding on colour choices for my colouring books! Your reviews are so helpful, make me make informed choices and save money by not buying pencils that will linger in a dark drawer due to being not up to scratch!! Have been crafting for years and years and have an enormous stash of pencils etc !!

Girl you need to get your hands on ARTEZA colored pencils , I have the 72 se for only $28.67
I'm in the Netherlands and I bought two sets of Prismacolors. One through amazon.co.uk and one through amazon.de. But those were rare finds. Usually it's mentioned that they won't send to the Netherlands. And we can't get them open stock. The fact that they get used up so quickly is a major downside. Especially because I can't replace them.
I have a 36 set of Polychromos and I love them so much. I just prefer the feel of them. They feel heavier in my hand and just feel higher quality to me. I'm planning to get the 120 set. And they're available open stock here. So win-win.

I believe that the language on the FC Polychromos is German. These pencils are made in Germany.

But they have Albrecht Durúr(I think that's how you spell it) and they are

I'm from Brazil, here is much easier to get Polychromos . Prismacolor only importing them. They are almost the same price in the end, but Polychromos ends up being cheaper to get and we are able to buy, how can I say? One at a time. We can't do it with Prismacolor here. I have both. Love both. Use both depending of the paper, depending of my mood, depending the day... Lol!

I finally broke down and purchased my 120 set of polychromos thanks to a very generous birthday gift from my husband. I contacted Faber Castell about wanting to try them before buying and the person I spoke with was very understanding and she sent me one pencil to try. I have to tell you that one pencil pushed me to purchase the polychromaos. So they are on order. And will receive them next week.

Here's a little weird story for you. For years my arms and hands hurt all of the time. I mean really hurt. It also felt like I had the flu. I was sooo tired all of the time. The assumption was Fibromyalgia or Arthritis but testing wasn't really revealing anything. Then, my husband's company closed and we went through several months of unemployment. The pain went away and I started to feel like a normal person again. The only difference, I could no longer afford to get my nails done. Every symptom disappeared. When he got another job I got my nails done and it was right back to the same pain where I couldn't even close my hands fully. Body aches, all of it came back. So, I stopped. Now my nails are just trimmed short and left natural. I no longer have pain and at 55 my hands and arms feel great, I can even lift my arms over my head now. No pain, no fatigue. So, for those of us that struggle with this, stop doing your nails for awhile and see if it helps. It may not work for you but the only thing you have to lose is your pain. I really hope this works for someone like it did for me.

I'm in Scotland and Prismacolor pencils are just not to be found at all. I love my Polychromos! I have big nerve and joint problems and I can still use these because they lay down so easily.

When I bought my 120 set of Polychromos, the best price I found was from Cheap Joe's Art Supplies.
I have 2 pictures I created bushbaby and bumble bee on the wall next to a window using polychrome for over a year and have not faided

All polychromatic Fabercastell have made in Germany on the pencil. These don’t .
Colored pencils are my favorite coloring medium. The best pencils I have are from Michaels, so l would love a chance to win these.

Hell is German for light. Faber Castel are German made pencils since 1763 I believe.
