"The Songs of God Series" Bhagavad Gita, Chapter 4: Transcendental Knowledge. The fourth chapter of the Bhagavad Gita is "Jnana Karma Sanyasa Yoga". In this chapter, Krishna glorifies the Karma Yoga and imparts the Transcendental Knowledge (the knowledge of the soul and the Ultimate Truth) to Arjuna. He reveals the reason behind his appearance in this material world. Lord Krishna emphasises that true knowledge is the key to liberation from the cycle of birth and death. This chapter teaches us to embrace wisdom, combined with selfless action, to achieve a higher state of consciousness. Bhagavad Gita 4.40 But persons who possess neither faith nor knowledge, and who are of a doubting nature, suffer a downfall. For the skeptical souls, there is no happiness either in this world or the next. In this chapter, Krishna is explaining Arjuna the process to acquire Transcendental knowledge. BG 4.5: The Supreme Lord said: Both you and I have had many births, O Arjun. BG 4.3: The same ancient knowledge of Yog, which is the supreme secret, I am today revealing unto you, because you are My friend as well as My devotee, who can understand this transcendental wisdom. The Three Yogas or Trimarga are three soteriological paths mentioned in the Bhagavad Gita for the liberation of human spirit. They are: Karma Yoga or the Path of Action (Karma-marga) Bhakti Yoga or the Path of Devotion (Bhakti-marga) to Ishvar (God). BG 4.1: The Supreme Lord Shree Krishna said: I taught this eternal science of Yog to the Sun God, Vivasvan, who passed it on to Manu; and Manu, in turn, instructed it to Ikshvaku. In the first chapter of Gita, when prince Arjuna overthinks about family, friends, women, children, and also about the world on the battlefield of Kurukshetra, and then Lord Sri Krishna convinces him by saying that a person can only do his duty, and thinking about the result is a waste of time. The ultimate truth in Bhagavad Gita. 2.2 - Conception of the Absolute Truth. He is the primeval Lord, or Bhagavan, known as Govinda, and He is the supreme cause of all causes.
