And to the Institute and Brotherhood, the Commonwealth Minutemen, on behalf of their lovely General, say 'FUCKING BRING IT!.'"
No way. The reason why the Railroad needs to be discreet is not just to protect the synths from the Institute/BOS, but from the bigoted Commonwealth civilians as well. [SPOILER WARNING AHEAD] Desdemona herself says so if you destroy the Institute as a Railroad player. It's the main reason why the Railroad remains established even after the Institute has been destroyed. Nice list. but you know this is my problem with secret or stealth base factions in video games, there is no point in having a logo, an uniform or a signature weapon, because the point is to blend with other people so you remain hidden. You are not the brotherhood of steel that have a tatto of their logo in their buts. Even tough I love the guild thieves armor and the assassins creed robes, not having a uniform or a logo makes more sence for this factions. I use Eli's Armour Compendium by Elianora to have nice looking clothes in the leveled lists so my railroad agents look more like secret agents/rebel warrios (I also love the shirt "synts are people too" of this mod).
I really don't like those HQ mods by Elianora, it looks neat and all, but it's just way too decked out, it looks especially silly and out of place when you compare that one room with the rest of the place, like wat, there's decrepit walls and barely any supplies and yet this one room has everything and more that an entire settlement would have, looks silly.
Kinda agree. Also the magazines that are thrown around feels weird because my character hasn't actually found all the perk magazines. - It be better if they were all non perk magazines like Mantaman comics or whatever.
Bragdras Couldn't the same really be said about any settlement you put a lot of work into? It's a dilapidated post apocalyptic wasteland, people are struggling to get by. But then you have this huge settlement with all kinds of neon lights, a vault boy pixel art, an ammunition manufacturing assemble line, all kinds of whacky robots walking around, etc etc. Besides, I think "over the top" is kind of in Fallouts wheelhouse. Have you seen a fully upgraded 10mm pistol? It's the size of a Canon. What about fully decked out X01 power armor, with Tesla coils surging with electricity on the shoulders, and a nice hot pink paint job. Speaking of hot pink paint job, you have the same color on your gigantic tank size robot, that wields two huge laser guns, and wears a deathclaw skull as a hat. Everything in this game is over the top.
That's entirely down to the style of the players of course, I just find it a bit silly / unfitting to the style of the game when you transition from a dilapidated underground graveyard to a side room that's absolutely chokefull of books, food, pictures etc.
I wish I could move Caretaker, he chose Outpost Zimojia, a good settlement for the safehouse IMO, but for some reason all those months ago Caretaker went to Abernathy Farm, and literaly for no reason a month ago while building Vault 88, caretaker appeared there! its just absurd, I just want him over at the proper safehouse
Your Friendly Neighborhood Nerd mine did the same with tenpines bluff. Not as far as Abernathy farm but I did kinda like having him at the northern edge of the map for role playing reasons.
Yeah, my caretaker has vanished somewhere. At the lighthouse, he was always around the same spot. But this time he was stationed at Outpost Zimojia, and haven't found him since I first met him there.
Gotta grab some of these. I loved how much fun you were having with the railway rifle variants. You also brought up a point that gives me some internal debate, the thing about the BoS not really using robots outside of Liberty Prime. They do keep a gutsy on the Prydwen, and they assimilate PAM once they raid the Railroad, but other than that you seem to be correct. That just strikes me as very strange as, looking back at Fallout 3, most Outcast (real BoS by lore) patrols had at least one robot. Other than oversight, the main lore reason I can think of is that since the BoS seems to mainly dispatch patrols via vertibird from the Prydwen itself, mobility would be the real hindrance of maintaining a robot force. Not really important to bring up I guess, but I find myself partial to defending the Brotherhood in respects such as these because my main draw to them is their tendency to assimilate the new technologies they find into their doctrines. Off the top of my head, they took vertibirds from the Enclave (I'll admit I may be wrong about that since it's been so long since I played 3, but I don't think they had them beforehand), which now seem to be a staple of their force. Liberty Prime, who needs no inroduction, PAM, and although they destroyed the Institute, I imagine in the future they will begin to reproduce some of their more prevalent technology as well, not least of which being the relay.
it would be cool if the institute had a fast travel teleporter. The railroad had secret sewers or subway tunnels. The minute men had motorcycles. I don't understand why the bos get the only travel
because the BoS have taken the time to get it all, Railroad are too busy saving vending machines, institute dont want to leave hence synths in the first place and the minutemen are a bunch of useless hero wannabees who cant even take on raiders let alone figure out a way to get around
Ryan Swier SPOILER ALERT The Minutemen steal a Brotherhood vertibird if u destroy the prydwen which you use exactly like the BoS one. Ronny Shaw sells the signal flares at the castle
the reason I said motorcycles is because there are kind of alike to horses because of the size the reason we couldn't have vans or atvs is because of rigid roads
For my RR playthrough, I installed the mod that makes Nick romanceable. Y'know... synth lover/synth-lover. Curie's my main squeeze in my main playthrough, though, so...
Just would like to point out that I had to go to the Nexus to find out what the mod author meant with Deacon Romance "ish" because you were too busy "philosophising" why people would like that mod (which to me just sounded like you shouting NO HOMO over and over to the point where it became awkward tbh) to actually explain what it does and doesn't do. Maybe next time ignore the why and focus more on the what and how like you do with any other mod normally.
While I see why you'd be irritated with the Caretaker, I reckon it'd be pretty cool. You could roleplay that he's actually the groundskeeper of Kingsport Lighthouse or something.
***** btw-- its his tragic backstory that got me. And he's a classic Rouge Bad Boy-- sneaky, lying, sarcastic, but good hearted. He's interesting in all the ways Preston wasn't for a romance and yet...
Oxhorn, I finally get to tell you that I really appreciate your analytical yet engaging discussion of mods & settlements, as well as your storytelling of different characters & lore points. Have you been considering doing some videos about the different S.P.E.C.I.A.L attributes, some of their more powerful & entertaining perks (eg Mysterious Stranger, Bloody Mess, Animal Friend), and the different builds that you have tried (eg light armour sniper, power armour soldier, a melee build)? You probably have, and I can appreciate that you'd need a heck of a lot of time to grind different alts, capture footage showcasing the different perks, and then putting it altogether in a classy, yet concise, presentation... but i definitely think it'd be worth it; and no one would be able to do a better job of it than you. Another thing i was kinda hoping to see more of from you is some videos focusing on the rebound romance options available with Piper, Cait, Preston, Curie, etc - though i can see the overlap with the videos you've done about maxing affinity with them.
I wish they would make a couch that can be used as a bed. That Tinker Tom change is good and funny because it allows the player to be entertained by the idea that he is crazy. Since he already seems crazy so by having his voice not change also suggests it in a good way.
it's the most immersive thing about the mod tbh. if it's living down there with them it's the obviously the railroad's pet cat and if someone came into your home and killed your pet you'd shoot them too
a tip to anyone that is struggling to get space in their inventory, if you have the lock picking perk maxed, you only need 1 bobby pin in your inventory.
I've reconciled myself with having only a single Railroad paint scheme only for the T-51 because the T-51 has an ideal, pragmatic balance that trades off the higher armor health & damage resistance of the T-60 & X-01 by being relatively easier to repair than the newer models. While the T-60 and X-01 needs 3 or so resources to repair them, the T-51 just needs a few easily found Tin Cans to repair, (plus a small amount of aluminum & circuitry? for the torso). The T-51 is also slightly out of sync with the thematic progression of the T-45 & T-60 favoured by the respective Brotherhood Chapters of Elder Lyons (Fallout 3), and Elder Maxson (Fallout 4)... and that seems to be another distinguishing feature that sets them apart from the other factions in the Commonwealth. The Brotherhood Chapter in Fallout: New Vegas used T-51, but I suspect they're no longer around in 2277 thanks to the combined pressure of powerful forces & factors like The Courier, the NCR, Mr House, Head Scribe Elijah's treachery, their narrow-minded isolationist leadership, and the real world terms & conditions between Bethesda and Obsidian Studios. That said, I got the Minutemen Power Armour schemes mod soon after I saw Oxhorn's video about Minutemen mods - but i felt that the T-45 & T-60 were the most suitable & lore-friendly to use (eg The Sole Survivor & the Minutemen would be able to salvage T-60 from pre-war caches and fallen Brotherhood Knights)
another attractive feature of the T-51 is the unique Piezoelectric torso piece that we get for completing the Cambridge Polymer Labs side quest. That piece grants a bonus to AP regeneration in irradiated environments; which can be handy for VATS combat and sprinting away from threats in the Glowing Sea.
If you use the CAMP mod you can grab any station, save it into storage, craft it again (which just pulls the existing station from storage) and then it is attached to the CAMP workstation. I've done that in several locations, notably in Nuka World where they don't give you a proper workstation.
The railway rifle is my fave because when you get a critical headshot it can decapitate them and nail the head to whatever the nail hits; I once had a super muntant’s head fly across the street and nail it to the wall.
My favorite new Railroad mod is "Railroad HQ - Player Home." Adds a bed for the player, a workshop (red suitcase) and links all the workshops. It's un-intrusive and works well. | For romance, see also "Full Deacon Romance."
I’d recommend Infiltrator and FCOM for gameplay and Marked for Termination, Father Companion, and Subversion for quests. They are all available on PC and Xbox.
Lol that explosive railway rifle could be brutal. Nailing them to the wall so they wait helplessly to be blown up. The very first railroad player home was amazing.
Actually Deacon is a stealthy character. I noticed that the enemy NPC doesn't even notice him even though he is almost next to her in sneak mode. So he doesn't need any armor. Just give him the fully customized Deliverer and enjoy. He actually wreaks havoc with It :D
***** no I took a quest from him and when I completed it he was just gone. I spent hours trying to find him but there was no sign of him.The quest indicator was pointing at the settlement but not at him. So either he was dead or glitched.
i downloaded a mod that gave me another railroad or atleast a synth companion that i found at the railroad hq called R4-04 and i love the way she's been drawn
The factions favor certain power armors, which is why their paint jobs are only for certain suits. I can see the Railroad favoring T-51 because of it being slim and sleek; if you're going to be sneakybeaky in power armor at all, that'd be your best chance of doing it.
I'd like to nominate the LAER mod if you ever do an update to your faction mods series. It has unique skins for both the Railroad and the Institute, and the LAER is actually a weapon from official Fallout lore. As an added bonus, the LAER from the mod does bonus damage to robots and power armor, making it especially adept against the Brotherhood. Just in case the sneaky method to take out the Prydwen isn't your cup of tea.
We love Deacon because he's bright and makes us laugh and you know despite all the nutty things he's willing to do and say that he's a good person.!!! That said, not being able to romance Deacon seems a lot more likely with his character. As curious as I would be to check out the mod, I'm not sure I'd actually like it or keep it.
I'm kind of glad the kept tinker tom's original (?) voice since I'm not sure I can go without him offering his brand of specialitAYEZE!!!! yeah haha i love that sheeeitte. Thanks Oxhorn. Love the railroad. That Harriet Tubman in Elianora's rig... So glad we have her on our side....
I want a mod that allows you to move the railroad to an actual settlement... it'd be so cool if I could role-play that I found a secret vault and that I want to make it into the new "safe house" for all the railroad... and another question... why don't the railroad sent the synths to Acadia after you tell them about Acadia? I mean it'd make sense.
the paintjob is only available for the T-51 because in the lore it's suppoused to be the most specialized suit so the only viable option for the railroad.

Forget Deegan, I want to romance Desdemona. :P
I know right, whew
Oxhorn I wish that you could choose between Deacon and Glory depending on if u wanna tank it (Glory) or stealth it (Deacon)
Jaffa Man you can in one of the quests. Glories not a companion, but it's a taste of what it could have been to travel the commonwealth with her
TheDawgMiner
Wait what!?
“Deegan”
it would be cool if the institute had a fast travel teleporter.
Ryan Swier SPOILER ALERT
The Minutemen steal a Brotherhood vertibird if u destroy the prydwen which you use exactly like the BoS one. Ronny Shaw sells the signal flares at the castle
I didn't know u could use the minutemen to destroy the BOS
I thought it was only institute
the reason I said motorcycles is because there are kind of alike to horses because of the size the reason we couldn't have vans or atvs is because of rigid roads
For my RR playthrough, I installed the mod that makes Nick romanceable. Y'know... synth lover/synth-lover.
Curie's my main squeeze in my main playthrough, though, so...
Thanks Oxhorn! Found this video on the railroad unfiform's mod page and promptly grabbed almost all these for my railroad playthrough I am starting.
OCDecorator is finally out on xbox!

I love his reactions to the railway rifle mods. *"OH, AND I'M DONE!!"*
As the author of tinker tom concept art, i got surprised you put my mod in your video, thanks a lot ;)
BTW someones is working on his voice, so stay tuned
No please he is cooler like this !!
That Tinker Tom mod mad my night, I did not expect you to add it to the list given the voice
I love how much fun you had with the railway rifles
AAAH A MOD TO ROMANCE DEACON !!! HUSBAND!! THANK YOU!!!
lol you're welcome!
***** btw-- its his tragic backstory that got me. And he's a classic Rouge Bad Boy-- sneaky, lying, sarcastic, but good hearted. He's interesting in all the ways Preston wasn't for a romance and yet...
Jeres Jolly it's a real shame his whole back story is a lie
Batteryman productions Not his final affection level backstory, tho.
I'm gonna blow your mind. deacon.... is the lone wanderer.
The "old philosopher" deacon was talking about is Plato.
Amazing how much detail people put into these. I really like Railroad HQ, RR paint jobs and RR rifle re texture.
Woman here who is VERY interested in Deacon - I also write fanfic on A03 about him having romances so thank you for making me aware of Deacon mods :)
Am I the only one who loves the Railroad?
cristian collins I like them
cristian collins I love them, they're such a uniuqe faction
cristian collins I do
the Institute seems cannon to me even though in fallout 3 helping them was basically the bad choice idk why just I don't like the railroad
the railroad also has some pretty high dmg weapons (you'll see them with Railway or guass rifles) so they aren't as pathetic as the Minutemen
Love that Railway Rifle......I named mine the 'Freedom Train'.
I named mine toot toot
Ha, I love making up names for my weapons!
Genius
I named an Overpowered Sniper Rifle "Death".
Oh ha lol
Great video. Will you do one of these with a raider theme?
Yep!
Thanks!
Oxhorn Nice!
When?
I actually had no idea that P.A.M. choses the mercer safehouse randomly, in all my 4 playthroughs she chose Outpost Zimoje o_O
Tomáš Lanča for me, it was red rocket
"For some reason the ladies love Deacon... Maybe because he's constantly lying." That got way to real
How funny would it be to add a suppressor onto the Railway Rifle, only for it to keep making the choochoo sounds.
I wish they would make a couch that can be used as a bed. That Tinker Tom change is good and funny because it allows the player to be entertained by the idea that he is crazy. Since he already seems crazy so by having his voice not change also suggests it in a good way.
as much as I love eli's work, we are the railroad makes far more sense as a railroad home, but it needs something to link the work stations
“Don’t attack the cat. If you do, everybody in the Railroad turns hostile.”
Apparently the mod author is an animal lover.
it's the most immersive thing about the mod tbh. if it's living down there with them it's the obviously the railroad's pet cat and if someone came into your home and killed your pet you'd shoot them too
as soon as he said that I was thinking OMFG OXHORN WHY DID YOU EVEN HIT THE CAT IN THE FIRST PLACE THO???????
@@ijusthatedmyoldhandle yeah I would
a tip to anyone that is struggling to get space in their inventory, if you have the lock picking perk maxed, you only need 1 bobby pin in your inventory.
bobby pins are weightless
A good Railroad mod is giving us Glory as a companion
"I'll leave that to politicians..." Oh you Oxhorn! ;)
I don't know about the romanced deacon one. The fact that you can't romance him adds to his charm :) I can't wait for your minuteman mod showcase!
Thanks, Oxhorn, I'm definitely downloading a bunch of these, hell, I'm tempted to start a brand new save just to specialize using these mods.
Have you ever seen the minigun with explosive rounds? Its fucking brutal
Actually Deacon is a stealthy character. I noticed that the enemy NPC doesn't even notice him even though he is almost next to her in sneak mode. So he doesn't need any armor. Just give him the fully customized Deliverer and enjoy. He actually wreaks havoc with It :D
You deserve more subs! I love these kinds of videos.
holy shiiii---- ty for mentioning Gauss Rifle Remastered. I am in love with that sound now.
Brotherhood: 3 settlements, 2 rooms
Institute: 1 settlement, 2 rooms
Minuteman: 30 settlements
Railroad: 1 fast travel point
Mercer Hideout
Which is you know, 2 feet from a settlement
"You got a dog for your dogmeat"
I just realized the Railroads Home looks better than what you get in the BoS and the Institute
Immortal NPC he says. My caretaker got killed while I was doing a quest for him and now I can't complete it.
The sole survivor can kill him, but enemies can't. If he is dead, then you must have accidentally killed him during a settlement attack or something.
23:16 Well, in my experience, sarcasm never worked for me...
The factions favor certain power armors, which is why their paint jobs are only for certain suits.
I can see the Railroad favoring T-51 because of it being slim and sleek; if you're going to be sneakybeaky in power armor at all, that'd be your best chance of doing it.
Says flag looks bad because of the stencil look, says robot paint job looks great because of the stencil look
Stencils should be painted on metal, not sewn into cloth.

I remember when oxhorn attacked the cat 😂
ea a good day that was . i am so proud of him . anybody for cat stake ?
The Railroad is very steampunk. Great video as always mate.
The fact that the minutemen in all endings cannot be wiped out means canonically, you’re always the general
Everyone else in the railroad sleeps on floor mattresses… you get a kings quarters. Thanks Elieanora
The Tinker Tom model and voice reminds me of No Bark, crazy conspiracy kind of guy and all that
I'm kind of glad the kept tinker tom's original (?) voice since I'm not sure I can go without him offering his brand of specialitAYEZE!!!! yeah haha i love that sheeeitte. Thanks Oxhorn. Love the railroad. That Harriet Tubman in Elianora's rig... So glad we have her on our side....
i do to . i love to shoot the place up . one for the institute .
I would love to see a mod where it turns that old shack/bunker out in the glowing sea into a railroad checkpoint or base
The pros: the institute will never look for you here
The cons: because no sane person would want to try
"Let's try killing ourselves with the explosive spike launcher" -Oxhorn 2016
The probelem with the Faction HQ player home mods is that the HQs aren't really set up with enough diolague to keep you from going insane...
Ah I like the French revolution reference when you said "off with her head"
I want a mod that allows you to move the railroad to an actual settlement... it'd be so cool if I could role-play that I found a secret vault and that I want to make it into the new "safe house" for all the railroad... and another question... why don't the railroad sent the synths to Acadia after you tell them about Acadia? I mean it'd make sense.
22:00 Ox you gave that metallic belle a night to remember and all you can say is "eugh"?!
When I first started playing fallout 4, I put all my scrap in one tool box and used take all and drudged over to my workbenches.
23:23 the philosopher is the author of 'autobiography of a yogi'
The caretaker is at Abernathy Farm, but the Mercer Safehouse is at Outpost Zimoja. Weird.
I LOVE the railroad faction thanks oxhorn
the paintjob is only available for the T-51 because in the lore it's suppoused to be the most specialized suit so the only viable option for the railroad.
Oxhorn, you rock bro!! ive been watching your vids for a few weeks now but didnt subscribe until yesterday when i realized alot of my fav vids were by the same person lol keep it up man i hope to jump in on one of your live streams
