    I have the .25 cal LCS SK-19 and after nearly 4 years I can honestly say it is my favorite and most accurate PCP. It is perfect for hunting and pest control and at 70 FPE with a FX 34 grain pellet shooting at 960 FPS effortlessly and efficiently I can only imagine what improvements have been made on the Rattler and Sidewinder and since the LCS is already amazing there shouldn't be that many improvements honestly. Easy as can be to tune for whatever you chose. Not hard to do maintenance if needed either. Hammerless IMO IS the future of PCPs and the price should come down also in time. 2300$ may seem like a lot but it is a buy once cry once kinda thing. For me...money well spent and it is used on the daily. Semi is enough but full auto does put a smile on everyone's faces. I like the fixed mag. Don't know if I would like a removable mag on this platform. Time will tell.

    Rifle around $2300. Scope shown around $300. BiPod feet shown $95. Each Magazine $159 per mag. Total for gun as shown with one additional mag is $2854.00 before sales tax and shipping. Sales Tax for CA + $228.32 bringing this rifle to $3082.32 before shipping costs. That's pretty pricey to only get a 1 yr warranty. 1 yr warranty says to me there's not much confidence in this gun functioning without failures after 1 yr of use. For that price, it should come with a 3yr warranty at minimum.
    Prices were obtained on a site that sells this very gun with prices shown for it's online purchasing.

Army standard impact lethality is 58 fpe, up from 42 fpe around WWII times ... Just received my 25 cal sidewinder Wed. Let me just say this. YOU WONT BE DISAPOINTED WITH THE ACCURACY OR POWER. I wont give away any numbers, but I had to re-set my reg to 130, and turn the power wheel down to keep it under 1000 fps shooting 31 grain pellets and 34 grain slugs. Maybe the elevation makes a difference and I live in North Carolina which is a lower elevation than Arizona but I wasn't expecting the gun to push a 31 grain pellet subsonic out the box, that's why I had to turn the power down. Eight different pellets, and five different slug weights and it was accurate with all.

      I don't see as a smart business strategy for manufacturers, or distributors, to keep products as a black boxes, specially a rifle. Is a losing game because the people that want to do unfair competition will just make a copy and sell it for half of the price; but you let your customers unable to do proper maintenance to whatever technology you are selling. In this case either the twist rate or a good blueprint of the Western rifles internal workings are a no-brainer customer expectation.
      Being a Geographer I move around internationally for extended periods of time, but not long enough to be able to get permits for firearms. Thus, I have been learning about PCP’s ballistics and I arrived to the point where I want to know the twist rates of whatever rifles I end up buying in order to take full advantage of the devices, either to choose the right pellets or slugs, penetration calculations….to manufacture my own, etc.
      All machines break down and for that price customers deserve a more reliable piece of equipment, which can only be guaranteed if you can service it yourself; before or after it breaks down. Firearms are significantly more effective and sturdier than any PCP technology - so far -but as you know one must take them apart to do maintenance thus ensuring proper functioning and reliability.

      The blitz is full auto with a high capacity mag and a fraction of the price... It doesn't carry the fpe this has on the high end but 60 fpe is more than enough to get the job done and again at a fraction of the price and with a 30 round mag. Is a hammerless tech really worth almost 1500 dollars more if we're getting the same 60 fpe but only 15 shots before having to reload? I mean you shouldn't need 30 rounds to off pests but it's nice to have options 😂

      @@airgunsofarizona Leshiy 2 and Sidewinder both shoot from/through the mag without chambering. hens the oranges and oranges. Full auto is more like a gimmic, a "fun switch". Not a serious option because the gun simply needs a second or two for the plenum to fill and get optimal power at the set reg. pressure. Yes it's fun and yes, in that sense it's appels to oranges, but I like to look at the way I would use it, in semi auto shooting through the magazine.

    I did the data crunching and I agree with others that all shot-counts are needed.
    22 25.39gr 904 fps 46 fpe 130 shots 5,520 fpe total
    22 33.90gr 977 fps 71.8 fpe ? shots ?,??? fpe total
    25 33.9gr 899 fps 61.0 fpe 96 shots 5,856 fpe total
    25 56.0gr 1,035 fps 80.5 fpe ?? Shots ?,??? fpe total
    30 30.0gr 854fps 91.0 fpe 62 shots 5,642 fpe total
    30 81.5gr 800fps 116.0 fpe 91 shots 10,556 fpe total
    I believe someone extrapolated the last 30 caliber from other data from other calibers with other velocities and other mass weights, but the 5th 30 caliber total fpe of 5,642 fpe is quite plausible because the 30 caliber has a bigger area for the compressed dry air to push on.
    130 Bar x 14.504 = 1,885.52 psi (on 1 square inch wall surface, or one inner surface wall of a cube having six inner surfaces).
    Area = pi/4 x caliber x caliber
    0.177 = 0.0246 in^2
    0.200 = 0.031415… in^2 or pi/100
    0.220 = 0.0380 in^2
    0.250 = 0.0490 in^2
    0.300 = 0.0706 in^2
    No animals were killed or injured in the math, nor numbers rounded up.
    Going with someone’s post of setting the regulator at 130 Bar to get under 1,000 fps with a 31 gr, we apply the 1,885.52 psi to the base of the projectile to get a potential kinetic energy, the difference from the reported fpe is the difference of potential to translational kinetic energy, and that’s where improvements can be made to increase the translational kinetic energy from the potential kinetic energy lost to other energy forms such as nuclear, sound, light, heat, mechanical, electromechanical, chemical, etc.
    Since the barrel length is the same for all calibers, the lbs to ftlbf is 23”/12”= 1.91666… feet, or factor to the ftlbf to get Potential ftlbenergy
    0.177 ==> 88.923 ftlbf
    0.200 ==> 113.534. “
    0.220 ==> 137.376. “
    0.250 ==> 177.397. “
    0.300 ==> 255.452. “
    Now, reported fpe is the efficiency value for that caliber:
    0.177
    0.200
    0.220 46 fpe n= 33.48% of total potential kinetic energy
    0.250 61 fpe n= 34.38%
    0.300 91 fpe n= 35.62%
    0.300 116 fpe n= 45.40%
    Very plausible because the efficiency (n) is proportional to the caliber and velocity such as fpe.
    I wish I knew the volume size of the plenum then an optimum foot pound energy (fpe) can be calculated and using ratios and proportions with a linear regression formula, the best projectile mass with the best velocity can be closely approximated to give the best combination of power and accuracy.
    Consistency + Power are indirectly proportional to Accuracy + Shot-count; in other words, you can’t have your cake and eat it too, so pick a side on the line drawn on the ground, it’s like riding on a teeter-totter ride, you can’t sit on both sides, if you can then you need to go on a diet.
    Me personally, I prefer in the following order for hunting:
    1. Consistency because you might not have the time to range your game and DOPE card
    2. Accuracy because the worst hit in history is far better than the best miss.
    3. Power because you don’t want to hit a brown grizzly bear with a 5.2 grain Bb
    4. Shot-count because you only need one (1) well placed hit with enough energy.
    And the list goes on…
    I loved these videos, but they lack the data to make a wise and informed consumer choice on the make, brand, caliber, barrel length, type of projectile, scope, etc., etc.
    As soon as I finish my air rifle book, I’ll start making videos with all the data, worked equations, examples with specific details and opinions based on numbers that do not lie because the laws of physics are not just really good ideas.
    More videos, please!
    FJB Out!

      There is a formula for getting your FPE. I'm OLD SCHOOL and this is the formula I use to get my FPE. I take my fps and multiply it by itself, then multiply it by the weight of the pellet or slug I'm shooting, then divide it by 450240. Example 950x950x30 grain=27075000 and then divide by 450240 equals 60.13 FPE. Hopes that helps you.

    Has western addressed the Slug issue with the spare magazines? I’m betting they were having the spare mags made over seas or not in house. $160 per mag that’s a pretty penny profit if chinas making them.

    I’ll order two because they are small, from AOA as soon as I find the plenum volume and the regulator set pressure, or is it unregulated and has a power curve to contend with?

    Loved to own one but the price point is ridiculous. I just checked all the websites that sell this. None of them offer the case as indicated in the video that I can see and the extra mags are $160 if they dropped it to 1500 I might consider it. Also, they should drop the price of the mags at least to $100. I’m not quite sure what the cost of titanium is but it can’t be that much.

    @airgunsofarizona you know what I dislike about this channel? They sell these so they are not going to give you honest reviews though they should.
    I sell AEA and do honest reviews on my guns. The fully auto does not ever give you all of your shots. I have the .30 cal and it may give me 5 shots then you have to let off the trigger then press again. I sent it back and they “adjusted “ it and it came back the same. Sad but true.
    The positive is I love the trigger on this thing.

    I've had a question for some time, never got around to calling AOA.
    Those air chambers - do they detach from the rifle, so you can take one to the air source used to refill them?
    And, if they do detach, do some users buy more than one so that if/when they run out of air, they can just insert their second chamber fully pressured up?

    • @MightyRude

      You can buy a quick connect to be able to exchange the bottles, but I don’t know about any pcp rifles that come with a quick connect bottle.
      Most people just buy an extra bottle (like an airsoft or diving bottle) and fill the rifle on the go.

    Awesome reveiw do you know the shot count on the rattler 357 and fpe

    • @icuppu2
      @icuppu2 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Start with 6,000 fpe total and divide by the fpe you want to get the shot count, or start with the 6,000 fpe and divide by the number of shots that you want and you will get the fpe of each shot.
      You might have to tweak the numbers for available projectiles.
      Stay under 1,000 fps to get the best combination of accuracy and power because what’s the sense of having 1,000 fpe and never able to hit anything beyond 10 yards?
      You want the fastest velocity to give you the flattest trajectory and best wind bucking along with the best accuracy, which is at half the speed of sound in your environment, so between half the speed of sound for the best accuracy and the speed of sound for most power and least time in the air for wind and gravity to affect trajectory.
      In other words, stay under 80% Mach 1
      FJB Out!

      I bought one of those and returned it steaming pile of 💩💩! You only get 650 ft per second with the blitz. All I can say is you get what you pay for. I put about 200 rounds through it. Had problems cycling leaked air jammed. Not that accurate either compared to a lot of other air rifles. I haven't tried the sidewinder yet but all the stuff that I'm seeing online they are hitting 950 ft per second. Full auto is flawless. I rather have the 15 rounds of complete accuracy than the 30 rounds of spray and go. The shop that I bought the blitz from tells me one out of five of them get sent back. At least they returned it and gave me a full refund. It might be a cool air gun if it worked, but for me after holding it I was happy to send it back 😂

Turned reg down to 130 and also the power wheel down and still pushing 43 grain slugs @ 945-950 fps !!! Now have it set to push 27-28 grain pellets @ 975-985 fps. The sidewinder is a beast. Six mags (90 shots) 140 psi left in tank.
