All I have been able to do with my Samsung TV is turn it on and off and sometimes send a video to it. The simple answer would be to add a $30 3rd gen Chromecast to the TV that would add this functionality.

    Do you recommend using Samsung devices with Google smart homes or Pixel devices? Thanks.

      For smart home stuff it has pretty much been the same except Pixel just added an update to quickly control devices from the power menu which I think is pretty awesome.

      @@PaulPinguin There IS a Samsung ecosystem. Samsung laptops (or any Windows laptop) work well with Samsung phones. You can call via your laptop, send messages and view photos form the phone. And if you have a Galaxy Tab, it also syncs up with your phone. You can remotely turn on hotspot and you can make phone calls with your tablet and send messages. And of course there is the galaxy watch which is in the ecosystem and the galaxy buds. How is this not an ecosystem???

    I found this video very informative (I have just got a Google Nest Audio) but many of the menu functions you show on the video do not appear in my Google Home app. My phone recently updated to Android 12. For example: I cannot find the Accessibility settings nor Alarms and Timer in Google Home app. Any chance of an update on your video to show what's available on Android 12?

    • @TechWithBrett
      @TechWithBrett  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Oh no! They just changed all the menus so it is a bit harder to find. The Alarms is under the Audio section and Accessibility should be it's own menu. These are found by tapping long the speaker and then the Great at the top right.

    Maybe you can help with this?... If I'm listening to music, etc. on my Google device, and say "OK Google, turn it off." Occasionally, it'll turn off my Nest thermostat. (yikes!!!) ....next thing I know, it's 95 degrees in my house! Is there a way I can fix this to NEVER do this again?

    Hi Brett ( nods to Brian) we have simply finally improved the google speaker quality by bigging up the speaker size is that right ...? and we can still dual connect speakers for stereo right as that will sound impressive..

    • @TechWithBrett
      @TechWithBrett  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yep, in the case of speakers, bigger is better! Stereo is really impressive. This can also be done with 2 of the same of other Google speakers.

    I think I like the Google one better than the Echo. I have a few questions. Is the mini one as loud as this bigger one is? And, can we listen to radio stations on the Google device? And can you call cell phones using the Google device?

    Re: the duo call, I have a Nest Mini and people can hear me from the other side of the room easily as well. Not sure if it's as good with the Google Home Mini (the old version) because I never tried it.

    I miss Google play music so much. TH-cam music is horrible at sorting my uploads and GP music used to make it easier to view my list of artists while also showing their full discography online.

    Quick question on the new Google Nest I just added to my smart house. I got numerous chromecast, smart speakers, and now one Google Nest to cast music in my house. I often change casting devices seamlessly as I move from room to room. Now one very annoying feature only Google Nest has, is that when it plays music and I switch casting device, the Nest is telling me, using a loud man's voice, that it it stopped playing music to play it on another device. It's long, loud, useless, and it annoys me a lot. All other smart devices don't feel the need to tell me that; I'm aware I just did it myself I don't need to be reminded. How can I disable this very annoying Google Nest feature? I searched all the setting I could find in Google Home but I did not succeed.
