Brian wrote this song while working on his PhD in Tennerife. He brought it into the studio and playedit for Freddie who liked it and asked about the lyrics. Brian said all he had really was "Tie your mother down" and of course, we can't use that. Freddie's reply was of course we can, Darling, why not? So the song was born. It is one of my favorites, so much fun.The crowd is bouncing all around, really getting into this song.
Evertime I watch I see something new I didn't see before. With queen you get so caught up in the performance your brain get overloaded with everything that's going on. Freddie brian john and rodger were all masters in there craft. The amount of talent that is on this stage is truly incredible. There will never be another queen they were too good. And there will never be another Freddie he was explosive with his talents.
R.I.P FREDDIE WE MISS YOU WE HEAR YOU SINGING FROM HEAVEN
Shane Alan Gower phenomenally superbly sensational superlatively sterlingly splendorous
"Your mommy and your daddy
Gonna plague me till I die
They can't understand it
I'm just a peace-loving guy"😃
Love this fun rocker from Brian! Thanks.
When you watch queen live you just get lost in the performances. There is so many great things happening when they preform live its hypnotic!
R.I.P FREDDIE WE MISS YOU
That pose shot you froze of Freddie is iconic. Beautiful!!!
So good, what an opener. You know the stage must have been shaking!
You might want to consider doing the next one as it’s played…a medley of lap of the gods, 7 seas of Rhye & tear it up. 👍
There is a great doc of the filming of these 2 shows. So many good POV
GOAT …… FOREVER 💛💥✨⚡️👑
Shane Shane Shane Shane!!!
I can’t tell you, how much this lifted my spirits today… THANK YOUUU!
P.S. Somewhere down-the-road, if you’d like to react to ANOTHER Queen concert…
I’d suggest:
MILTON KEYNES “FIRE AT THE BOWL” from 1982!
It’s also an outdoor concert (kind of an earlier sibling to Wembley, but in a park setting).
This concert doesn’t get as much attention as 1981 Montreal (because Montreal was filmed in high HD to show in theaters)… but Milton Keynes is literally Freddie at his absolute PEAK physically and VOCALLY. You also get CRAZY ANTICS and fun audience participation by Fred, and you would hear some songs you would definitely NOT know… because they are ONLY on-video from the Milton Keynes gig.
„I like having freedom on stage and moving around a bit, but when I saw the Magic Tour setups I was like, "Oh my God! What am I ever going to do with that? I should have skates to move from side to side". I didn't feel like letting anyone down, so I didn't want to do the tour at first. But I think it's all a mental thing. I thought instead I had to face it and train a lot, and in the end I dismissed everything with an "I'll be myself, I'll give everything I can". So I did some push-ups and after three or four shows of pure agony my muscles started to react positively and after that it was fine. I'm glad I did that tour, because it was one of the biggest and most successful ever, and I'm glad I jumped in." - Freddie
According to several cameramen, it was a real nightmare to film Freddie live, because he was doing sudden runs up and down the stairs, ramps, scaffoldings, he was everywhere. 🤣
As you are a drummer you simply must see Rogercam from this concert. Its fantastic and know you would love it. Its 20 mins of Roger being amazing.
Queen getting to work!!! They never cease to amaze. Shane always love your reactions!!
R.I.P FREDDIE WE MISS YOU WE HEAR YOU SINGING FROM HEAVEN
BTW Shane…
THE NEXT SECTION IS A MEDLEY OF THREE PARTIAL SONGS ALL STRUNG-TOGETHER:
“In The Lap Of The Gods Revisited”/“Seven Seas Of Rhye” (when Fred is at the piano)/“Tear It Up”.
…Hope that’s helpful!
(There’s another medley of three old-time classic Rock songs, but that isn’t until MUCH LATER in the concert.)
P.S. You mentioned the different camera angles…
There ARE on TH-cam, some COOL compilation videos of the different camera angles - some with multiple angles shown at-once.
If it would be helpful/if you’re interested, I could put links to videos in the comments (some are buried way down in TH-cam’s search algorithms/it takes some looking to track them down; I’ve put them in a playlist so I can find them… I suppose there are other Queen fans with the links, as well.)🖖
Omg first time hearing this? I used to blast this one while driving, along with Jackyl's "I stand alone" and Godsmack's "Whatever".
Effortlessly delivered
Masterclass in musicianship ❤
Brian May built his guitar with his dad when he was 16-17 because they couldn't afford to buy an electric guitar. It is called Red Special and it's unique. Brian plays it up to this day 😮 ... After 👑 success he had done a copy of it and used it at gigs, because original 🎸 is precious. Now he has his own Ted Special line of guitars that are more affordable to people but he is still rocking with his Old Lady (as he calls 🎸) witch is now 60 years old and had never been changed, fratted or anything (just strings replaced and he uses a banjo strings witch are more flexible). As a pick he used/uses a sixpence (an English coin, it is not used anymore but Bri had a supply from English National Ban, they now made coins just for him to use 😮). Brian's dad was a talented electro engineer and Bri has PhD in astrophysics and an IQ of 180 😮
But he is "just' one quarter of 👑 talent. Freddie, Roger, John together with Brian are unique 💎 and they are out of this world.
Love this song❤❤❤❤❤
I am a Queenie seen them live in Toledo OHIO in the mid 70's an haved loved them since LEGENDS ❤❤❤❤😊 I HAVE JOINED UR CHANNEL CHECK OUT EARLY QUEEN LIKE LIAR LIVE AT THE RAINBOW 1977 I BELIEVE❤
Brilliant thank you, absolutely love their earlier stuff... So much energy ❤❤❤❤
And we are enjoying it with you!
Thanks, Shane..(total Brian May song.. surprise!!?) my first Queen concert as a teenager opened with this song.. (Kalamazoo, Michigan in January 1978.. Thin Lizzy opened for them.. and they were incredible... a whole 'nother story) it was awesome! appreciate your reaction and look forward to more...
thank you ! I like your reaction, go on, go on ❤❤
👑🔥🎸👍
Nice 👍
Queen cannot be categorized.. They can't be put in a box -- any box. They are hard rockers, glam rockers, art rockers, a ballad band...even a folk band! Check out the song 39; it's a Brian composition that's basically a folk song about interstellar time travel. Nothing was beyond their genius.
Please reaction live another one bites the dust live wembley
👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻🇬🇧
Same concert, Roger Taylor cam for 'Now I'm here' th-cam.com/video/XMNNLItedY0/w-d-xo.html
You need to do Freddy and Montseratt Cabailla, Barcelona!
