WOW. An outstanding, brilliant achievement from every standpoint. The production of this concert is first rate (all aspects including beautifully mixed audio), the band is artistically magnificent and in total command technically. I know this music well, having listened to it many times in recent months and having studied Jim's scores (and continue to do so). In my opinion, Jim McNeely must be regarded as a at the vanguard of contemporary composition. This music belongs in several categories for those who like to organize their art in such ways. But apart from that, it is simply wonderful, inspiring and thrilling music showing the mastery and imagination of the composer and the improvising soloists. The ensemble playing is brilliant, and, well... this ain't easy music to play, folks! THANK YOU hrBand and THANK YOU, Jim!
The music is incredible! The writing, arranging and performing, all spectacular! But, can we just give a nod to the cinematography here? Having two different soloists from different sections in the same frame and changing the focus between them when the change of lead voices happens, that is worth praise as well! HR Big Band always comes through, but the whole team was bringing their A game on this one! Thanks to everyone!

50:35 No dust off the shoulder when playing Eb clarinet, Bb clarinet, Alto Clarinet, Flute and Alto flute as part of the Alto sax 2 part. No big deal, just another player killing it in this ensemble. Mad props to all of the players, but also to Jim with his incredible writing and arranging for this show! Keep up the great work!
