      @@XRayAutomation Thanks, by the way, do you have any tips to tag a person on Slack through the text content in Integromat?

    • @XRayAutomation
      @XRayAutomation  ปีที่แล้ว

      @@kenxunguyen Hmm... that's a tough. We'd probably rely on a Slack Emoji Reaction to be the trigger (upload a custom slack emoji you want to trigger this automation) --> Then set a filter in Integromat for the :emoji_reaction: of your choice. Then you can extract the text content and put it into notion or anywhere else.
      We're going to make a few videos soon about Slack reactions & the automations you could build based on that workflow pattern.

    Thanks so much for the video!! Was wondering how I would go about watching notion pages for a certain trigger event before sending a message (i.e. watch all the pages within a database and send a message to the user responsible on the day that that page is due?)

      You can yes, but it takes a few automations, and requires a dedicated operational database.

      Happy to talk you through how a system like what you’ve described can be built, customized, and implemented.

    Thanks so much for this video! I was wondering is it possible to set up a trigger to run when only a specific database property is updated? Essentially, I am trying to keep a count of the number of times I change a date property, so a number property would automatically go up by one when I change the date property to delay a task. Right now I am just doing this manually but I would like to automate it. The reason I like keeping count of this is that I can look at tasks I’ve delayed a bunch of times and reevaluate if they’re necessary or make them a higher priority. I think I am supposed to use the "Watch Database Items" module but not sure how to set up the filters in a way to achieve my goal.

      Hey! Great question, pretty complicated implementation.
      Notion doesn’t make this specific usecase very easy. To do what you’ve described, you’ll need an operational database, and some automation infrastructure outside of Notion.
      Checkout www.xray.systems/notiontrace - we’ve setup a process to do this for you in about 2 hours.
      Hope we can help!

    Great video, clear and easy to follow. I've watched a few of yours now and subbed! I'm wondering if there's a way-since the watch database trigger has the limit option-to set up a scenario that would process multiple bundles retrieved by the watch database trigger? I'm trying to keep each contact record in a Notion database synced with another app and there are times where multiple records are created/updated in this Notion database. Do the bundles need to be aggregated into an array to be processed separately or something? I've watched your vids on the Iterator and Aggregator modules but most info I've found on this uses an example to process an array within the bundle output and not each bundle themselves.

      Thanks for watching! So happy to hear we've been helpful for you.
      Seems like an architecture problem. You're always welcome to join our free open automation hours here: calendly.com/xraytech/open-automation-hours
      It sounds like you might want to try setting up the following:
      - A really specific view inside of Notion, to only see the records that you want to push into into the other service
      - Up your 'limit' to say... 100 - that way, up to 100 new records from the specific Notion View can be pulled into your automation.
      --- if there were 12 records in the notion view -> then the entire automation would run 12 times in a row.
      I don't think you need to worry about arrays or iterators, those are useful tools, but might not be applicable here if you can consistently get the right records into the automation in the first place.
      Hope that helps & hope to see you at Open Automation Hours soon too!

    Thanks for the great much appreciated. I was however wondering if its possible to watch or update a page template from Make? It's the only thing I am unable to do at the moment and was wondering if you knew how this can be done. I basically want to apply an existing template to hundreds of pages that already have text in them.

    • @XRayAutomation
      @XRayAutomation  ปีที่แล้ว

      Unfortunately not - Thats currently not possible. There are no automated ways to manipulate templates using Make or Zapier. There are not even routes inside the API documents to manipulate templates. developers.notion.com/reference/intro
      Instead, you might be able to 'recreate the pages' through an automation... but it would be significant work.
      If all of the pages are in a single database. I'd recommend creating the new template inside of the database you want to do the 'conversion' in -- Then open up a 'page yet-to-be-updated' -- CUT all of the content off of the page, then select the template, then paste all of the previously cut content.
      Yes, it would still require manual updating 1 at a time... but it might also be a good chance 'prune' old/unused docs. Hope that helps!
