You're welcome. Glad you enjoyed it. 👍😀
The close up view of the tracks with the high quality sound of the engine and rails and is a sublime viewing experience to chill out to!
Very happy to hear you enjoyed chilling to the video 😀👍
The happy people, all along the route! It must make your heart swell with pride to sail this great beast and see how much everyone loves a steam engine.
Sometimes, the old things can keep their charm forever.
Yes, it is great to see the interest it brings out in people that come to the track side to see it go past. 👍😀
This is a beautiful steam train long trip from Newport to Hurtbridge and it's amazing!! Thanks for sharing with us!! 👌😉❤🚂
You're welcome. I am glad you enjoyed the trip on the steam loco. 👍😀
What a lovely looking engine, and beautifully restored. She sure gets a rattle on. And how many 100s of points sets crossed in that journey? Enjoyed the trip immensely. Thanks very much once again.
Very happy to hear you enjoyed the ride 👍 😀
I can't get enough of that beautiful steam whistle

Thank you. Very happy you enjoyed the ride 👍 😀
Memorable journey on the mighty K-Class
It certainly is 😀👍
OMG,mate I lived in montmorency in the 50s ,went to the state school there…..what changes specially from Heidelberg to hurstbridge.
Single line Macleod to HB,old picket fences at the stations ,the NO ROAD signs at the end of each p,atform, great video mate but sorry I’d get lost,👏👏👍👍👋🚂🚂
It's changed a lot over the years, that's for sure. I was based at Eltham years ago and so much has changed. Glad to hear you enjoyed it 👍 😀
@@driver667 I went on the sparks in 74 and was thinking of either HB or EL,if I had ,I might’ve still been there, who knows,👋👋👏👏👍🚂
@@peterredfern1174 you never know, could have been. 😀👍
Imagine sitting in your car at a level crossing (if there are any due to the number that have been removed) and hearing that sound instead of the current fleet of trains 😂😂
It is certainly something to watch go past. Sounds and looks more interesting. 👍😀
Vids from the Drivers Window please!
I know im a bit late, but how does the train depart from hurstbridge? Is there just another loco on the end? (if so which one) Or do you somehow run the loco around? (Also love these videos its so great to see it from this angle)
There is no runaround track at Hurstbridge. The train had K140 on the other end and ran push-pull. Very happy you enjoy the videos. 👍😀
I can see my house on here! Live next to the line. :D
It is great living next to the line and being able to watch the trains rumble by. 👍😀
Why is the left buffer not completely round?
I'm not really sure but it has been surmised here by others that it's so as not to clash with the concertina of the end of the passenger carriages. 👍😀
Great camera angle I think it was a couple of degrees more down than usual .. what speed were you doing it looked as if you were really hiking !
It looks faster when the camera is lower. The speed would have averaged around 60kph on this trip. Glad you enjoyed the ride 👍 😀
Is that an echo I hear several times, or is that the engine at the other end of the train?
Yes, the engine on the other end blows it's horn every so often. 👍😀
@@driver667 Don't you mean whistle?
@@00Zy99 🤣👍😀
Great to see so many family groups out to watch in the suburban areas. Unlike the dags that just sit there and ignore such a beautiful beast at Southern Cross. 🏳🌈
Very happy to hear you enjoyed it 👍😀
Why do some buffers have chunks missing?
iirc, it's to allow the loco to couple up to passenger rollingstock without the buffers pinching the flexible walkway walls between each carriage (Don't remember the proper name for them)
interesting sleepers at 37:40. similar to sleepers ive seen on french high speed tracks. is there a tunnel or sewer or water main or something beneath them? of course i see the tunnel on the line ahead so its unlikely to be a road beneath.
I don't think there is anything beneath them. They have been there for decades. I think they are what was the flavour of the time as far as sleepers for this situation. 👍😀
@@driver667 , so these sleepers may be a trial. just like theyre doing trials with recycled plastic sleepers. or just like the trial with concrete sleepers done back in the 30's or 40's. they were trialled at caulfield. dad and his fellow driver friends told me about them in the late 70's, and they couldnt understand why they werent used throughout the entire system. i have seen pictures of them years ago. i have noticed that the modern concrete sleepers often develop cracks at the centre. this is bad design. whenever i have to catch a train here in perth i walk the platform looking for cracked sleepers and always find at least one. the cracks are not dangerous but do allow water to seep inside to start rusting the steel rods. the novel sleepers in this video have no need for pre-stressing bars which is a big advantage when they are being made..
@@vsvnrg3263 yes, I think they were a trial at the time. It's a pity they didn't use concrete across the network much earlier. 👍😀
47:24 hi me
