Great video, was for sure a great weekend and was awesome seeing the mix of locos in steam and running that weekend. Great to see B72 & S301 out in the sun too finally.
Thanks for sharing this was too hot for this old bloke to attend, maybe next time...just loved the green hat during shunting, rules must have changed since l was last on the foot plate....awesome bit of action though regards Doc
Impressive that they have three Hudsons (or whatever you call 4-6-4s down under). There are no operable Hudsons in the U. S. currently. Canadian Pacific, I guess now Canadian Pacific Kansas City (CPKC), has returned theirs to operating for now to celebrate merging with Kansas City Southern and having continuous ownership from Canada to Mexico. It was also good to hear a normally aspirated EMD/GM cab unit running at near full-throttle, a sound getting rarer and rarer in the U. S.
Thanks for sharing, we call 4-6-4s here R class Hudson steam locomotives. I believe they were used on high-speed passenger trains a lot around the '60s until the VR diesel took their place. Very interested in the steam locomotives you guys have over there, I still watch videos and can't believe the size of them. Cheers mate 😊
Extraordinary video Jamie, good on you mate. I was at the steamrail open day on sunday and i loved every moment of it. I also bumped into an old friend of mine, John Hoy! He used to be operations manager at Puffing Billy, but now he's vice president and operations manager at the victorian goldfields railway. He'd often invite me onto the footplate for cab rides when i was young. It was so good to see him again. By the way, the train and hobby show is coming up this weekend. Hope to see you soon Jamie. Take care mate Kevig
Love steam engines, but looks like organized pandemoneum to me. They must get sick of going back - forwards??!! Just hope i can get there to see it for myself next year. lol. Just loved the R series, just as well they're heavy looking at the wind on the day!
Fantastic video Jamie best video saying so far from everyone as I said you are getting better and better video that you do a great achievement
Thankyou James, very kind.

No problem, it was really hot at the Open Days, I'm actually disappointed that there were no shelters near the photo line-up area. Cheers 👍

@@VictorianRails2025Yeah, and I have trouble believing that Kangaroos fight each other on suburban streets down there, but I've seen the videos.

I love steam engines too, although, Steamrail Victoria operates this event every 2 years, which means the next available Open Days will be in 2026.
