I was so surprised with how much I fell in love with Enchantment of the Seas. Of course she’s older and shows some age, but still an amazing ship to just chill. Such a classic! I love it!
Same! I took a trip on this ship a few weeks ago and was nervous going into it because of the ships age! But once we set sail all of that went out the window. We had a blast! I also heard they had some renovations earlier this summer (2024)
I love this ship. I think the intimacy of a smaller ship, and the decor of an upscale venue and not just an auditorium or floating mall give it so much character.
I appreciate the memories of the Enchantment of the Seas tour. It was the last Royal ship that I had cruised on. I loved it. Small compared to the rest of the Royals but enough for me.
I love all the ships. I think they all have something that makes them special. Granted some may need a liitle paint or carpet refresh but all still enjoyable
I definitely would sail on that ship! The amount of glass is what sold me! Thank you so much! I am on AOTS for my first Royal sailing in November transatlantic but honestly the layout of this ship is much nicer IMO. Love traditional atriums! Not a fan of the shopping mall interior.
I loved The Enchantment of the Seas ! It used to be based out of my hometown, Baltimore. You didn't show the steam and sauna rooms. One of the rare ships that have them.

YES,YES! I love these older ships! I sailed Enchantment in 1999 without te later put on extra midsection. Real cruising, no theme park. Just a classic ship with the classic cruising experience. Unfortunally they getting rare. Just like me i guess 🤷♀
I’m on Enchantment of the Seas right now! Absolutely fantastic quality of food and staffing! The quality is better than the larger, more densely packed cruise ships! I also like the nostalgic feel.
I sail out from Tampa with 2 of my older grandsons in Sept, 14 - 21st. I cant wait. This is my first cruise with Royal, but my 5th cruise. I'm excited.
We have been cruising Enchantment since 2004. We were on both before & after the stretching. Actually, a correction to her selling point was that she had "more glass, brass & marble than any ship at sea." We were on her twice in '22 out of Baltimore. Absolutely l❤ve her!
Enchantment is one of my favorite ships! We were on her this past summer in Italy. The staff was one of the best we’ve encountered. Wonderful service and a genuinely happy staff. We also spent a lot of time before dinner in the diamond lounge and really enjoyed the views.
Took an August 2022 cruise on Enchantment of the Seas to New England and Canada. Had a great time! Chops Grill staff were fantastic! We loved our one bedroom suite on this ship!! Spacious and comfortable!!
I appreciate these older, smaller ships. Not such a huge crowd of people. I'm about 5 minutes from smashing the Book button on a cruise on this ship out of Tampa...
I sailed the Enchantment Dec 2023 into the New Year and had a very pleasant and enjoyable time. This was my first Royal cruise, I’ve only ever sailed Carnival in the past. It was a different vibe, more geared towards families with small children and if you are not necessarily looking for a party atmosphere that Carnival offers. The staff were great, and the food was good. Not as many bells and whistles as the newer bigger ships but you will still have a good time on this ship regardless of her age. Thanks for sharing and happy cruising!
This is the comment I was looking for! I’ve been on 2 carnival ships and this is also my first Royal Caribbean cruise. I leave in 5 days with my 2 year old. Looking forward to it
Embarking on Enchantment of the seas this weekend; Can't wait! It's my son's first cruise where he's at an age where we can let him go on his own (7 now, was 1 on his last cruise), and we hope the smaller size means it'll be a bit easier to keep track of him. If it goes well, we'll do next year's cruise on one of the bigger ships!
we will be sailing on this ship next Aug with our teenager/young adult kids as a family and I am actually happy that it is apart of the small class of ships, this will be their first cruise. great video btw
I have not been on Enchantment but was on her sister, Grandeur, last year and going on her again this fall. They look very similar, both being Vision Class. I love the smaller, quieter ships and am going on the even smaller HAL Volendam in June. I hope they keep these small gems in the fleet🙏🤞❤️
It's interesting how people can tour a ship, and you always do a wonderful job, and you can tell how someone views a space to see how they feel it or use it. As soon as I saw Spotlight I saw lounge with dance floor and thought of couples dancing and wondered about the type of music and feel and ambiance that provides at night. I guess trivia and other stuff is done there but that wasn't my first thought. I would have spent a lot more time showing the various segments of it as well. This the type of space I value most on the ship and not the staterooms, balconies, or restaurants. Schooner's is another type of space, a piano bar space I value. Bolero's is another type of lounge with more opportunities for its own music, dancing, ambiance, vibe if you will. And to me, this is what's missing on some newer ships. Definitely what's missing on say the Edge ships from Celebrity but also the Sun Princess. The new Royal ships have these spaces but are huge with a lot of other spaces. On the outside, look at the width of the promenade decks. It isn't filled up with objects and I like that open feel. I think more and more specialty restaurants at the expense of more pubic spaces for music and dancing is a trend I dislike in newer ships. One or two of them are enough for me though I realize they are big money makers for cruise lines. to be honest, most ships are big enough to have both so maybe cut down on the shops. This ship is 83,000 tons yet it has more and varied public mingling spots than some 130,000 ton ships out there. I really like this ship. It's it has a lot of views, nautical themes, and a certain type of intimacy in what is still for me a large ship. The intimacy is because of how the spaces are designed. I like some of the warm woods and railings used in the ship. Some of the deeper colors than what is used in a lot of contemporary ships. I'm sorry but this idea of too "old" a ship is kind of annoys me. Ships aren't disposable just like hotels or any other public establishments are. If it isn't shabby or maintained poorly or not getting necessary refurbs, then maybe what it has to offer is better suited for your style than something newer.
OUR first cruise in 2011 from Baltimore! we loved so much Enchantment of the Seas! I'm from NJ,and since then we being cruising a lot with Royal Caribbean with different ships, but we never forgot our trip with Enchantement of the seas, small but beautifull ship.❤
I wish this ship was a tad more updated but I’ll take an older ship over no ship. I went on this ship in 1998 and it literally looks like barely anything has been updated. But I definitely wish they at least had some water slides and a couple more dining options. Even carnivals older smaller ships have slides and more dining options.
My very first cruise in 2008 with my wife, my mother-in-law and my 7-year old daughter was on the Enchantment of the Seas. We were in a suite and had no idea how lucky we were. Having just gotten off the Ascent and the Reflection, I would say at this point, my wife and I prefer newer ships. Having said that, I thought the Enchantment looked a whole lot better than I would have thought and, yes, we would and do consider and cruise on older ships. Great video!!!
Thank you for the thorough video and info! Enchantment will be my second cruise this winter, following Independence last winter. I’m a little nervous going to a smaller ship but your video has me feeling much better about it.
Thank you for the tour! I will be in her May 18th. We can't wait. I love the centrum and the R bar along with the Schooners bar. I love the smaller ships too.
Jordan, we met you at the Diamond lounge early in the cruise. This was our 1st time on the Enchantment and we must say the ship did live up to her name. We hope to sail on her again.
That "bridge" area on the sun deck topside is roughly equivalent to the location and length of the prefabricated "stretched" section of the ship that was added in drydock.
Thank you so much for making this video. My upcoming cruise will be our second time on Royal. I wanted a newer ship but I booked Enchantment because I liked the port stops. I also like that’s it’s not that many people but my curiosity is killing me!! I have to check out the newer ROYAL ships especially the ICON. However, I am looking forward to our cruise!

Looks gorgeous. Sure I would go! Didn't think I would like an RCL ship from the other videos I've seen because I find the central mall areas with no windows very unattractive. This looks great.
This "central mall" area started with the Voyager class and that's from 1999 I believe. Now it is just expanded but a lot of the designs of the newest ships started in the 1990s. The Enchantment is still quite a modern ship in many ways.
I almost died on this ship they had us in a room where the gas fumes was coming into my room. I woke up sick not being about to move and was swollen. After 4 days the finally got my sister and I out of there.
