The best cleansing oil I have ever used is the Shiseido cleansing oil. I always use it in the shower before I hop in and double cleanse. It cleans my face and makeup brushes completely! (innisfree apple oil cleanse for cheaper alternative). My favorite makeup balm is Clinique's Take the Day Off (Clean it Zero balm for cheaper alternative). If your mascara is super waterproof, I recommend trying the Kiss Me mascara remover - it's life changing for me, I used to hate removing waterproof mascara it felt like I was massaging my lashes off

I have used so many of all price ranges….but keep going back to Hada Labo cleansing oil. Cruelty free, removes every speck of makeup and sunscreen, no fragrance, feels silky and luxurious, and it’s cheap. Around $17 for 200mls, and you can buy refills for $11. Occasionally I buy a luxurious balm, like Nooni Snowflake Jelly, just to have something different to use - but the Hado Labo is a great basic and proves you don’t need to spend a lot to get an awesome product.

For waterproof makeup, especially eye makeup, I will say this until I’m blue in the face… Purity Made Simple Cleanser by Philosophy IS THE BEST. The cleansing balm alone removes all of the makeup, but mascara always burns my eyes whenever it gets into my eyes. So I use micellar water to remove the mascara first and then go in with the cleansing balm. Micellar water with cotton and cleansing balms/oils will always be a better way to remove makeup. Is double cleansing with micellar water equivalent to oil cleansing?
Or is that damaging and subpar?
My understanding is that micellar water can be drying
It could be for first cleanser but again it depends on your skin type and concern
I always think both are different thing. So i used both of them if I’m wearing a makeup that day.
I use micellar water to remove my makeup, let my face dry, and then go in with a cleansing oil/balm to remove all of the makeup. Then, I wash my face with a gentle face cleanser. Wipes literally pulls your skin and dries out your skin.
LMAO i was just looking for a oil cleanser / balm GREAT TIMING (:
But could you use a cleansing oil and not another cleansing thing after? Will that make your skin break out?
